Really helps a lot. Very precise. Especially for some of us who put aside the watch and long time didn't wear and totally forget how to set it back running.
Thank you so much for doing this clear and concise video. I can finally confidently wind and reset my watch without worrying that I'm going to damage it!
Well done Eric. I especially like the fact that you tell people to take their time and not force it as well as not going too fast when setting the date on the GMT. Thanks and keep the videos coming.
I have just bought a yacht-master 40 (126622 from new) and I just followed your steps. If it does NOT hold time around 70hrs, means its fake? Everything else seems to hold op.
Thank your for you tutorial . I heared that it is important to move the hands forward until the date change then continuos until you reach save time zone after 3 am or more I'm not sure .then you can set the date savely .I heared if you set the date around midnight it may damage your watch.
Thank you Eric. I don''t have a GMT, so setting time for a GMT is always a mysterious thing to me. Since I have the Hulk, this video and your Batman video have convinced me I should get the Batman to compliment it:)
This helped me heaps, thanks Eric. Even the Rolex store couldn't explain this properly lol... By the way how do I know which day is 30, 31st and leap year??
great video eric ! noob question but how do you adjust the 2nd time say if there its exactly not an hour +/-. Say if the time for the 2nd location was 10:30
If a country is like India, which has an additional 30 minutes factored into the time difference, you wouldn't be able to compare it to another country like the US with the Rolex GMT II. It is designed to differentiate in increments of 1 hour; so for example, if you wanted to keep the time difference between NY and London, you would set the 24 hour hand 5 hours forward.

My Datejust 36 takes around 30-40 winds to actually starts ticking, is it normal ?
Warning! U always want to set the date on ANY automatic watch with the time best set at 6pm first. Than you adjust the date and after you set the correct time.
Hi CRM Jewelers. This is regarding the GMT. I have a brand new one week old GMT exactly as shown. The problem is in the middle click --> the hour hand does not move despite turning the crown (to adjust date and set non GMT time). The last click outwards works fine in changing the time. What do you think has gone wrong?
NOTE: Setting Time Anti Clockwise Might Damage The Mechanical System Of The Automatic Watches. So Keep Rotation Clockwise Until You Reach And Set The Correct Time
It's a good question Eric, but we only work with quality brands of luxury watches. We consider the iWatch a tech gizmo, not a luxury watch, even if they use 18k to make it.
Do you know the wind rotation direction on these watches for a watch winder? 1. Rolex Datejust from the late 80's 2. Breitling Chronomat from the mid 90's 3. Seiko 6139-7039 mid 70's 4. Seiko 5 Day Date 7S26B Thanks
4:04 i understood how to set time.. but even in your watch after setting time the seconds pin in your watch is not working.. it is in rest.. my watch is also stopped working .. how to make it start again... wt to do sir.. 🤔🤔 please help is there any battery which got low..
Crm if you are interested, I do graphic design and I would love to help you out. Just reply to this comment yes or no depending on your choice - thanks charlie
Hi Eric. I've had the Hulk for about a year. I just recently purchased a BLNR GMT. I'm thrown off on a couple of issues. I purchased it at an AD. But! I have a small wrist (about 7- 1/8). They took 2 links off my Sub. They only pulled 1 link off my GMT. I know the clasp is different and the center links are polished on the GMT. But Eric, The bracelet on the GMT just feels lighter! Just moving the links in my hand, and they just feel lighter than the Sub. The difference in the links? I've been wondering, about what to think of this? What do you think, Eric?
Probably shouldn't have left the store without thoroghly explained instructions. I mean, its an expensive watch. Always ask questions especially when money'$ involved. Its years later but good luck.
Great video, but I was always taught to set the date first & in doing so you supposed to set it for the day before the actual date. Then you set the time by turning the hour hand pass 12 midnight until u get the current date just to make sure u have the correct am/pm setting. Then set the time. If I'm wrong please let me know. For some reason I was told to never set the date & time when it's past 9 O'Clock to 12 O'Clock bc it would mess up the movement somehow. Has anyone else heard that?
My crown on my submariner doesn't function to adjust time if turning forward it only works now if I turn crown backwards or towards me. Do I need to tighten crown? How do I do that?
Great videos Eric, love the channel, when screwing crown back in it's good idea to turn counter clockwise first the set crown on threads, then screw clockwise to tighten. Love to see review of Explorer.
@@Crmjewelers can you plz tell me the price of the very 1st rolex. and winding crown of my watch did not stick to its surface(didn't going inside). please help me to repair it.
Actually you have to put the date one day before the actual date and turn the hands until it's changes the date so you can know if it's the morning or the evening, thanks for the video👍
Bro can you help me please, my dad just give me old james cameron deepsea blue rolex, i dont know that rolex was automatic watch, so i just start trying to change date time and rolling the crown over and over, and now i cant change the date anymore and the it stop ticking, ive been trying to winding it 30-40 times still not working
A big detail you forgort in the video and can break your watch, is you SHOULD NOT set the date in between the 9 and 3. You can break the mechanism!!!! Bad...
When you set the time on the Submariner you are moving the hands to fast, putting unnecessary strain on the watch. Moving the hands this fast is like doing 20k rpm on a car engine.
You are probably correct, I set time little slower, but as you say Rolex so robust. I have a 91 Sub I've owned many years and after servicing it's like new.

I watch this video each time I have to set my watch. Thank you for such a simple and well explained video !
I love the fact that every Rolex is unique in it's own way, this includes the winding process.
Excellent Video Eric! Thanks.

When you set the time is it am OR pm?.

my submariner takes 25-30 winds to start ticking
Great vids!!!! Thank you. Can you do a quick review on all your watches? Please
Thank you Gor, but that review would be anything but quick. ;-)

This will help avoid any accidental chipping or breaking of one of the gears/teeth of the gears.
+WickedBOSS86 correct. But that warning is most applied to Chronographs.
Great video Eric! You make it sound so easy. Now I don't have to keep taking my Rolex to you guys every time I have to set it on time. Lol
Lol, good one Marcelin Photography

thanks for info about how to wind up a watch. Please could someone tell me what is difference between the big and the small hands? thanks
If you have the Hour hand going backwards, will the date go back or does the date only go forward? Thanks!
Awesome hulk sub👍👍

Thanks a lot Buddy Your Video Really Work for me
Great video Eric! So does this mean that i would have to adjust the date every month to account for 30 or 31 days?
+Kareem Monzer Yes. Unless you have a Skydweller. Or a perpetual calendar watch.
CRM Jewelers skydweller has a perpetual calender ?
+shadi badawood It has an annual calendar. So it's possible to see what month it is and the watch knows how many days are in that specific month.
I know that this question can be tacked as a joke I don't know but do you will do a review of the 18 k gold apple watch?
It's a good question Eric, but we only work with quality brands of luxury watches. We consider the iWatch a tech gizmo, not a luxury watch, even if they use 18k to make it.

How many times to wind the watch
My crown on my submariner doesn't function to adjust time if turning forward it only works now if I turn crown backwards or towards me. Do I need to tighten crown? How do I do that?

Thank you Keanna.
Should u hear ticking after just setting it ?
Actually you have to put the date one day before the actual date and turn the hands until it's changes the date so you can know if it's the morning or the evening, thanks for the video👍
What about AM vs PM with a "Datejust"?
Seconds stopped how can I it fixed
I believe you missed the importance of am/pm to get the date change correct.
Every video everyone forgets wtf
is the black and blue gmt better than a Pepsi gmt.
+Jude Meler Two different things. On the new version the pepsi is white gold!
CRM Jewelers Which one do you like of the GMT line?
CRM Jewelers what do you think about the new rolex the air king?
noob question, what happens with months of 30/31 days? and february?
I have a question someone told me that the crown always go to 12'oclock when tightened down ?
mcrayfourd no it is not
I don't wear my watch it's currently in storage how often should.i wind it manually
If your watch is not fully wound will you have problems setting time and date?
thanks a lot really helpful
+pierre louis Glad it helped!
My seconds hand doesn’t sweep anymore, and the time won’t adjust
Thank you so much

Some of my Rolexes are featured in this video :)
No shades ! till now I seriously thought you have some eye problem
thank you so much ...
You're welcome Mohammed. Thank you for watching.
is there a Danger zone when adjusting the date in new Rolex watches ???
Time at 6oclock always prevents possibilities
Does it make a diffrence 6 am or 6 pm ???
No.
I always set to 6 as well
shadi badawood it has to be at 6 am mate, very important !! 3 out of 20 times the mechanism WILL get severely damaged b cause of this
Same problem w mine
In the second watch the seconds tick wasn’t working
Eric bro Thanks BRO
You are not optimizing the GMT functions. TZ1- 11, TZ2 -5 not 10 since you are not relying on the bezel.
+premedina Yes. Interlay did not want to elaborate ways to much and confuse the users.
I thought Daytona need at least 30 to 40 times winding?
+Danny Le Not correct, That could possibly over wind the watch.
Brazilian?
A big detail you forgort in the video and can break your watch, is you SHOULD NOT set the date in between the 9 and 3. You can break the mechanism!!!! Bad...
SEALTRIDENT6 good point, even though that doesn't really happen with the modern Rolexes.
How do you know if the mechanism is broken if you do set the time in the danger zone? Is there a possibility if you do this it will remain fine?
SEALTRIDENT6 that’s a fucking myth!!
Daytona ... This watch does not have date function ?
When you set the time on the Submariner you are moving the hands to fast, putting unnecessary strain on the watch. Moving the hands this fast is like doing 20k rpm on a car engine.
+BoomerUKEngland Good point. On other brands I would worry. But rolex are so strong it won't be a problem.
You are probably correct, I set time little slower, but as you say Rolex so robust. I have a 91 Sub I've owned many years and after servicing it's like new.
mines not working
Great video, checkout the channel Luxurytainment as they have a good video on setting up the Rolex Daytona which is really useful!!
