For those commenting below me, I'm not sure you understand the point. The sellers of fake watches don't care about a few minor screw finishing missed on the inside of the watch case. The reason they don't care is twofold. 1- they have it close enough, so the average fake buyer (who is not a perfectionist, or else they wouldn't settle for a fake) is satisfied. 2- they can sell updated versions of their fake watch as they fix the minor issues. 3- I realize i said two, but this is important: it's a matter of economics. They simply cannot replicate the EXACT finish of a $12,000 hand finished swiss timepiece in a chinese factory. it simply cannot be done.
China has better copyright laws now they even ceased the production of the land wind crossover which was an almost carbon copy of the range rover. While the quality of the replicas have increased a good bit the price has increased dramatically because it got harder to distribute and real parts are being used. To make a perfect replica it will cost no less than half the price and nobody would buy it because of the chance that the difference would be spotted later and make the watch worth nothing. Rollexes hold value pretty well and some models even appreciate.

It will never have the exact same quality of finishing and it will never have real precious metals and it will never be worth anything. The original is cash on your wrist. You can convert it to cash immediately in any major city around the world. It is easier to copy these steel versions but is impossible to copy a gold or platinum version without using those metals which is cost prohibitive.

Which I think is to an extent is ridiculous, plenty of people work their lives to obtain a luxury timepiece and they are average middle class workers, granted you have to work hard and its years of saving but because it’s a Rolex, or omega or Patek Phillipe people automatically assume you’re either rich or it’s a fake. I can understand with the high market of a plethora of knockoffs why it raises eyebrows but by no means is it completely unusual for an average joe to wear a luxury timepiece. Just a matter of hard work.
Which is why you don’t buy a Rolex if it’s your first luxury watch purchase... or if the watch seems a little off compared to the rest of your possessions. Get an Omega or TAG.

A rolex will make me feel £10,000 good, although I will mostly worry about loosing a £10k watch. A £1000 fake and £9000 worth of hookers and cocaine will make me feel many times more good and I will only have a 10th of worry of loosing the watch.

This is not true. I know people driving a 1000€ car and rocking real rolexes. Some people don't care what brings them around as long as it brings to point B. The real tell is the job you got. Of course a supermarket cashier can't afford a real daytona.
I drive a ford and I have real AND fake designer products. I mix and match them. I work in a wealthy area and there are people that live in multi million dollar homes but are totally content with their Honda, and will make a scene if they're overcharged by $1 lol. Brand names mean nothing

Well, it's probably harder to make the model from scratch, also the little extra quality that goes in probably costs a lot to accomplish. Then there are huge marketing expenses, costs to make business in Switzerland, to certify the movements, costs to train the dealers and much more. Still I would think they gain at least 50 to maybe 100% on each unit.

This video does its best to shame people away from buying one of these, but the truth is that one might actually feel pretty good about purchasing one of these high-end fakes. The opposite effect, in my opinion, is more likely to occur. One might feel a bit smart and completely satisfied buying one of these instead of spending thousands on a real one. Buying a watch like this could also allow someone the opportunity to run with the big dogs at work. At a corporate event some years back, I was having drinks with an executive, and ironically enough, we were discussing how confidence and faking it, are a lot closer in appearance than we know. He then confessed to me that his Rolex, and his Omega were both high-end, pricey knock-off! No one ever questioned his Rolex because he was a well-paid CEO and his point was well-received! Which is also the point I am trying to make here.....I can tell you that any person who makes a lot of money, a person of great salary and wealth, could wear one of these fakes and it would never be questioned. In fact, I understand that the biggest purchasing demographic for this particular reproduction, the $1,500 price-range knock-off, are people who are already rich. Other people's perceptions of you might not differ but your own perception of yourself will. Wearing a ten thousand dollar authentic watch is going to exponentially increase your self-confidence make you feel like a real king, ready to conquer the world. Wearing a fake watch can make yourself feel like a fraud.

We can talk hypothetically until the cows come home. Only you feel how you feel about wearing a fake. I have a fake rolex and omega because i love the submariner and seamaster, and i dont like homage watches, Because decent fakes and homage brands all use the same cases and bracelet, one labels it "homage" with a made up chinese company with swiss sounding name and charges double what their fake counterparts do in my experience. Bliger, parnis, pagani design, all use the same cases as fake omega and rolex factories and charge more because they pretend its not just a fake watch. I feel satisfied from having a well made waterproof automatic seamaster fake for 5% the price, because its way more watch than most microbrands offer for more money in my experience as well. Auto, saphire crystal, AR coating, exhibition case back, decent waterproof, doesnt miss a beat, for cheap this watch is incredible. If it was about fooling people, i see how someone would feel bad about themselves. I will eventually make the jump to a real one, but till then, this watch takes a beating and loves every day of it.
It's a tough call between the business ethics of a Chinese fake factory, and the Rolex Marketing department. I dont speak Mandarin, or French/German, so I remain torn...

Rolex has been faked for ages. Of course the fakes are going to get more elaborate with time. Rolex is really restricting supply as much as intrest in watches has increased dramaticly the past 2-3 years. Rolex isn't the only brand with crazy premiums on the grey market currently. Rolex’s designs are fairly old, so to replicate a pattern that has remained unchanged over decades, replicas/fakes can only get better over time. Not a critique. Just the truth. Practice makes perfect.
Practice makes perfect but seems like the copycats figured it out pretty quick. Yes, Rolex did all the heavy lifting but the engineering process is way overhyped by Rolex. Yeah, they put in a lot of work but they talk about it and make commercials for it like they are literally building the future vehicle of space travel.
It is because of the CNC machine which has made this possible. Also the strong demand, record high prices and popularity of Rolex right now. It has nothing to do with how long the design has been out. Rolex is also the best known name which is why they’re counterfeited more than any other watch.

True, you can't fake the feelings, but because feelings are not rational, you can very well change them with de... illusion. That's the "beauty" of feelings. If you bought a good fake Rollex being convinced it's genuine, your feelings would be identical as if it was. So, if the feelings is the main factor for you, buy from retailers who sell "genuine" Rolexes for 1/5th the price.
Actually the replica serves a purpose, I wear it daily so my real one does not get nicks and scratches in it. I learned my lesson the hard way with my first good watch.

I was born July 69 and two days later man walked on the moon. So what could have been any more appropriate for me than the moon watch. and its a classic design and cool watch and has history and a kind of cult status. I have a load if I was wealthy sure.. But maybe folks who are like me may appreciate it more as its not easy to come by. And its something my son will have when I pop my clogs... I think a lot of the same people actually do love the watch and may appreciate aspects and elements of the design and engineering but they could have bought many fantastic watches but people that go Rolex are, more often than not, very interested in having a watch that people will look at them and think... That guy/ girl is a success. Success in this case means they are rich or doing real well! Personally, the Rolex Explorer II is something I just fell in love with... it truly is my favorite watch. That said, I hardly ever wear it because I am not rich and want it to stay pristine. So, daily I wear an Orient Ray II on a Barton rubber strap and I love it. I have had numerous people tell me that it looks very expensive... In fact, because they are not aware of the brand, they think it is even more expensive than a Rolex. Like, some obscure brand. Bottom line, the appearance of the Orient watch is pretty impressive for the price. When I wear the Rolex, I actually kind of cringe when people ask me about it. I actually like to wear it tucked under the hooded sweatshirt on the weekends and a smile knowing it's tucked in but with me!

That might be an AAAAA replica, but it doesnt even come close to the excellence of a Ziarex Swiss replica. You can spend less in China, but quality is worth the investment.
it's insane now how much THIS rep looks so bad compared to our reps today. I clearly knew which was the rep by the red DAYTONA label alone in 2 seconds. not to mention the hour markers and Rolex crown logo being so low quality. we really thought these were nearly indistinguishable 😢

DO you really trust yourself without a loop or better magnification? Would you bet your reputation on figuring it out in 2 seconds? I think not.
When doing the comparison the print in the fake, beginning with "Rolex", is clearly in bold. Don't even need a close-up to notice that. But without a comparison to the genuine, these fakes are getting better and better.
@@EricBishard come on, I know these so called grade A Rolex fakes and they really are sold at a 1.5k usd price! Everything is faked, including the box and even the cap. And well, they are easily distinguishable EVEN at photos on the smartphone screen. Daytona script, Rolex superlative chrono scripts, logo on crown - easy. But there were a few nuances in this video, that I never noticed. Particularly, an awful hand. Btw, these fakes do feel like fakes. There's something hammery in them, I don't know, a gut feeling. And a believe they have a different weight. This is the easiest way to tell, imo. And also Omega in an other video. That fake was even a better fake, but costs like 300 hundred USD. And goes without the genuine faked box and papers. But it looks much better and harder to distinguish.
Paying double or even triple RRP is more scandalous than putting a fake Rolex on my wrist!!! And don't get me started on trying to literally beg an AD to add you to a waiting list. Unfortunately, popular Rolex models have become so unobtainable even if you had the money to buy one from an AD! Thats why buying a high end replica is the only stress free option. Well first of all they don't make it in genuine Platinum I'm pretty sure! Second of all if you buy it from your local ad probably that means they know you down there and can vouch for you. And in that case you can actually get in line for a watch that appreciates in value. Like the Submariner Pepsi Max, which are actually going out to customers this month and are probably worth $10,000 more than they paid right out of the box
This video was made 4 years ago. 4 years on the Chinese factories who make these superclones have gone to such lengths to make theor rolexes indistinguishable from the gen. The only way to tell is opening the case and checking the parts within the movement itself
It may not be a percise calculation of time but most buy them to show off. Ive seen people with 50k+ watches and yet check their phone. So yes, it could easily sell for design
My only point was that, like many criminals, if the replica makers spent the same time and energy on a legitimate enterprise they wouldn't need to do the crime. The replica in the video isn't as good as the original, but it is as good as many real watches that sell for $1000 or more. And, of course, there are lots of legitimate watches that take their basic design from famous ones, without being precise copies.

So at this point we can conclude that since functionality, look and feel are all same as the original, the surplus money you pay is just for the brand tag and has got nothing to do with actual quality. Don't argue about water resistance. No one will rely on a 30,000 euro worth watch for scuba diving. It is like G-wagon, they say it is made for off-road, but we usually see them in shopping malls or grocery stores.

Yes, because when buying a Rolex, you're paying a large part of that price for the name. An independent Swiss company (if they so wished) could make perfect copies of Rolex watches for about a fifth of the price and they almost wouldn't be fakes!

This video does its best to shame people away from buying one of these, but the truth is that one might actually feel pretty good about purchasing one of these high-end fakes. The opposite effect, in my opinion, is more likely to occur. One might feel a bit smart and completely satisfied buying one of these instead of spending thousands on a real one. Buying a watch like this could also allow someone the opportunity to run with the big dogs at work. At a corporate event some years back, I was having drinks with an executive, and ironically enough, we were discussing how confidence and faking it, are a lot closer in appearance than we know. He then confessed to me that his Rolex, and his Omega were both high-end, pricey knock-off! No one ever questioned his Rolex because he was a well-paid CEO and his point was well-received!
Which is also the point I am trying to make here.....I can tell you that any person who makes a lot of money, a person of great salary and wealth, could wear one of these fakes and it would never be questioned. No one would ever suspect an already rich person to wear one of these; especially if they wear it with confidence. In fact, I understand that the biggest purchasing demographic for this particular reproduction, the $1,500 price-range knock-off, are people who are already rich. Bliger, parnis, pagani design, all use the same cases as fake omega and rolex factories and charge more because they pretend its not just a fake watch. I feel satisfied from having a well made waterproof automatic seamaster fake for 5% the price, because its way more watch than most microbrands offer for more money in my experience as well. Auto, saphire crystal, AR coating, exhibition case back, decent waterproof, doesnt miss a beat, for cheap this watch is incredible. If it was about fooling people, i see how someone would feel bad about themselves. I will eventually make the jump to a real one, but till then, this watch takes a beating and loves every day of it.

That guy/ girl is a success. Success in this case means they are rich or doing real well! Personally, the Rolex Explorer II is something I just fell in love with... it truly is my favorite watch. That said, I hardly ever wear it because I am not rich and want it to stay pristine. So, daily I wear an Orient Ray II on a Barton rubber strap and I love it. I have had numerous people tell me that it looks very expensive... In fact, because they are not aware of the brand, they think it is even more expensive than a Rolex. Like, some obscure brand. Bottom line, the appearance of the Orient watch is pretty impressive for the price. When I wear the Rolex, I actually kind of cringe when people ask me about it. I actually like to wear it tucked under the hooded sweatshirt on the weekends and a smile knowing it's tucked in but with me!

@@rashard70 It depends on what do you mean by quality.For me It functions very well there is no difference for someone who is looking with a naked eye.Weighs well and it has a nice sharp feeling to it.Other than that I am not sure about minor details as, even I, the watch owner didnt bother to look into it with a magnifier.

true. but you have to make sure that you can pull off wearing a replica. I bought a fake rolex once i got a house and a bmw 4 series cabrio. Now it fits into my life and i can pull it off. i really live on the standard that this watch represents but i didnt want to tie up my money into a watch i would be scared about getting stolen or lost. I waited a few years to get to this level whe i can easily pull it off and iit feels just as rewarding as if i bought the real one. it represents the life and it looks good.

That might be an AAAAA replica, but it doesnt even come close to the excellence of a Ziarex Swiss replica. You can spend less in China, but quality is worth the investment.
it's insane now how much THIS rep looks so bad compared to our reps today. I clearly knew which was the rep by the red DAYTONA label alone in 2 seconds. not to mention the hour markers and Rolex crown logo being so low quality. we really thought these were nearly indistinguishable 😢
So low quality isn't fair. As if you did not have the closeups and something to compare, you might make the mistake yourself. I do agree the red Rolex print is the easiest way to tell, but come on. DO you really trust yourself without a loop or better magnification? Would you bet your reputation on figuring it out in 2 seconds? I think not.
When doing the comparison the print in the fake, beginning with "Rolex", is clearly in bold. Don't even need a close-up to notice that. But without a comparison to the genuine, these fakes are getting better and better.
@@EricBishard come on, I know these so called grade A Rolex fakes and they really are sold at a 1.5k usd price! Everything is faked, including the box and even the cap. And well, they are easily distinguishable EVEN at photos on the smartphone screen. Daytona script, Rolex superlative chrono scripts, logo on crown - easy. But there were a few nuances in this video, that I never noticed. Particularly, an awful hand. Btw, these fakes do feel like fakes. There's something hammery in them, I don't know, a gut feeling. And a believe they have a different weight. This is the easiest way to tell, imo. And also Omega in an other video. That fake was even a better fake, but costs like 300 hundred USD. And goes without the genuine faked box and papers. But it looks much better and harder to distinguish.

Paying double or even triple RRP is more scandalous than putting a fake Rolex on my wrist!!! And don't get me started on trying to literally beg an AD to add you to a waiting list. Unfortunately, popular Rolex models have become so unobtainable even if you had the money to buy one from an AD! Thats why buying a high end replica is the only stress free option. Well first of all they don't make it in genuine Platinum I'm pretty sure! Second of all if you buy it from your local ad probably that means they know you down there and can vouch for you. And in that case you can actually get in line for a watch that appreciates in value. Like the Submariner Pepsi Max, which are actually going out to customers this month and are probably worth $10,000 more than they paid right out of the box
This video was made 4 years ago. 4 years on the Chinese factories who make these superclones have gone to such lengths to make theor rolexes indistinguishable from the gen. The only way to tell is opening the case and checking the parts within the movement itself

My only point was that, like many criminals, if the replica makers spent the same time and energy on a legitimate enterprise they wouldn't need to do the crime.
The replica in the video isn't as good as the original, but it is as good as many real watches that sell for $1000 or more.
And, of course, there are lots of legitimate watches that take their basic design from famous ones, without being precise copies.
