Even though logic would place the hp at around 1250, I would not be surprised to see it released with a figure more like 1400 to 1500hp. ... why? Just becuz They Can! they did exactly that with the new zr1 which weighed in with far more hp that the anticipated 850...
we should be getting the c8 zr1 time at the nurburgring soon, winter is coming. hopefully it makes it a full lap without something else in the drivetrain blowing up, or overheating problems.
My guess is that the Zora will have the LT6 from the Z06 rather than the LT7, for a total of 830 hp. So the ZR1 will still be slightly more expensive and faster at the top end, but the Zora will be quicker acceleration. Basically preserving the same cost, power and speed relationship of the Eray and Z06.
The new Zorro will be a package option of the ZR1. It’s still considered a ZR1. Not a stripped down ZR1. It will be designed to compete with world class exotic super-cars.

So Chevy fooled everyone into believing the standard SF90 was the target of the bench marking? Makes a lot of sense until you realize that track focused cars in every manufacturers portfolio cost more than the luxury variants. Porsche sells stripper models like the ST for WAY more than a GT3, and the super wealthy trade them like Baseball cards. Hopefully that wont be the case for Chevy. Doug Demuro says Cadillac eyeing the HYPERCAR BUSINESS for the super wealthy at this moment, and we might get a actual road going LMP car like everybody else including Red Bull are doing, but at that point no regular people can even dream of such.

Sadly the new Zora as described in the video and the ZR1 as well are cars made for marketing headlines, profit and wining the spec sheet wars. The ZR1 is a 4000 lb curb weight car! This is the weight of a Tesla model S. If Chevy wants to make a true drivers car then take the C8 Z06 with the stock power of that glorious flat pane crank beauty and spend all the money to reduce the weight to 2800 to 3000 lbs add some serious ground effect aero. Put a manual in it and Multimatic dampers. Will it be faster on the track? If it's the best handling most intuitive, rewarding, fun to drive and has the best steering and break feel of any Corvette ever made then what difference does it make and who cares? It does need to be said that at 1200lbs less, yes it will be faster on a track. Not on the drag strip. There's a lot of used Mclarens for that kind of money and 800 to 1000 lbs lighter.

The Lamborghini Performante is a track car, the SVJ is a track car, the SF90 XX Stradale is a track car, the 919 Evo is a race car. All of them have AWD.
No way possible that a lighter C8 Z06 with 670hp/460lb torque…. can out perform a Zorro ZR1 with 1,064hp+/873lb torque rear and 190hp electric front drive (if GM doesn’t up that electric number?) … on a road course like for example, Sebring race track. The Zorro will pull so much harder on straight-a-sways to offset any cornering maneuverability advantage from a lighter Z06. It’s not like the Zorro will not handle cornering exceptionally well. I get what you are saying, weight does obviously matter in cornering, but not enough to offset the power difference in this comparison.

I would prefer the Zora to be a hybrid of Eray 160 ho front end and Z06 670 hp NA high revving Flat Plane Crank
