My parents went through a phase where they gave my sister and I Christmas presents that were restored coin banks or ceramic things. I had this exact same bank... just painted differently. Not really something an 8 year old girl is thrilled with.
I don't think so. IF she's using wire hangers, she really doesn't give a care. Throwing her clothing down like that, well maybe that gets him in trouble. A class lady uses wooden or at least wide plastic hangers.
I watch your videos with my daughter when they come out over a bed time story. She loves to see the restorations come to life and I think they are very educational. We both love your content.
That was amazing!!! It's a privilege to watch you ply your skills on these projects. It's so nice to see a craftsman who truly cares about his/her outcome; that's a rarity in our "throw it away" society here in the States. Bravo, and thanks for another great video. Be well, stay safe and God bless. Rev. D.
Glad I spotted this before bed. What a great restoration. Not just the work, and the detail. The piece is irreplaceable. Now it is better than new. Wonderful job my friend. Especially for such a rare piece.
Awesome restoration. This is my favorite bank...have never owned one but this is the one I would have wanted. The Phillips screws date this bank to no earlier than 1932, but most probably after 1936, unless it was older and restored once before...
I like intros like that. I also really like the panning shots, showing the item. The stripped screw trick is new to me, I'm going to have to try that some time. Very enjoyable editing in this video, too, by the way! No jokes (this time), just praising the talent and care that goes into this sort of work!
I love these, wizard behind the curtain. Type things. At beginning looks so complicated. Then taken apart, is springs and wire - so simple. Great restoration work. Always remembering, which piece goes where.
My grandfather had this bank too!! He collected several like this, and remember playing with it as a child, loving to watch the dog jump through the hoop! Thank you for bringing back this memory ❤
OMG I have this EXACT bank! I got it as a birthday present many years ago. Aside from some color differences, and mine is missing the hoop, it’s in great condition. I’ve been waiting to see if anyone was ever going to restore one of these! Great job. PS-I like your color choice better than how mine came!

My grandma use to take me to this antique shop when I was little n there was a whole shelf of these lil trick banks, some in better condition than others but it sparked a luv of classic things XD
It blows my mind that you just MAKE new parts! My mind cannot even phantom where to start and you’re like busting it out like it’s no biggie! I’m always intrigued, curious and amazed at your videos!
Watching this video brought back all kinds of memories. My grandfather had a nice collection of cast-iron banks, and he had one like this. I think that my sister inherited it. I got the magician one that reminded me of him. ❤️
I worked in a museum and in a second hand shop. I won't talk about the "restoration" which happens in museums, because it is a crime... but when it comes to antiques, or even old things, I understand "restoration" to mean adding value. I don't just mean that something which has been properly restored can be sold for more; everything has a story and a careful and loving restoration adds to that story.
My great-grandpa had a small collection of mechanical coin banks. One looked like this one. I had forgotten all about them until I saw this video. He had a bunch of neat things in his home, including a slot machine, some furbies, and a bowl of candy that he left out for when his great-grandchildren visited.
This was so much fun to watch. My dad had one of these when he was young and I used to play with it when I visited his mom with him at her home. Great memories brought back.
I’ll never get tired of watching your restoration, they’re all so relaxing to watch, and seeing the end product from what it was before is extremely satisfying!

Thank you very much Freezy Pop. 😇
