BtoC vs BtoB, business done by major company vs the others, big ticket vs small ticket, tech product vs the rest of the World... All of this summarized in a fax!! 💙 I abstolutely loved it ! Personally, my trajectory has been exactly like this! From shoes to retail, from national retail to international retail, from international retail to wholesale, from wholesale to BtoBtoB, from BtoBtoB to tech!! A HUGE GAP!
Love ya April for calling out the dangers of blanket advice from seemingly know-it-alls. Can see how this goes much deeper into your own journey of trying to find help from the B2C-leaning academic world and then being disappointed. Can sooo relate with it. :)
This has to be one of my favorite episodes. I've been re-educating myself with different perspectives by reading the books that were written during the times I was working through the topics in real-time. There is definitely a bias on both sides of what will work and why. I believe real expertise comes with knowing which path to take and when. There are no absolutes but there are overlaps in best practices that span across industries leaving room for customization.
Ha. Having worked in the 80s and 90s with these Detroit manufacturing companies, this story rings so true! And still today, not everyone is B2B-SaaS-savvy and we've been talking lately about one of our audiences that sounds just like that fax guy. We're doing same - talking with these folks and being open to meet them where they are.
Awesome episode! Loved the topic, definitely want more of that stuff! I found it interesting that you said your method didn't always work. Would love to hear a story where you pushed the limits with your wisdom!

Thanks so much - glad you enjoyed it!
This was absolutely hilarious and valuable at the same time. Read the book, but glad to have found the RUclips channel.
