Vascular restriction is the most common cause of dementia in the brain...plus there are several types of "worm" infections, one in particular wraps itself in the brain...! (it's NOT THE FOOD)...
I thought the diet I was trying with fish, meats plenty of veg was good. Now it isn't unless you can afford organic. Most shops by me have no organic in most of the foods you mention. Not really a lot you can eat now if trying to reduce your carbs and sugars without dangerous chemicals and mercury? Now makes me think that the healthier diet with low carbs no processed is maybe now more harmful. You can't really change your diet then to natural without harming yourself in another way to reduce insulin resistance. Blueberries were supposed to be good, and advised to eat on keto low carbs. In all the stores by me that type of fruit there is no organic. Never seen organic cabbage either or green beans. Just organic carrots, not really any choice if many meats are unavailable in organic either, or if you don't have a budget to buy. Also been told that grass fed also means the animal has had access at sometimes to grass but not all the time. If you fed a cow grass for just a week before you sold the meat. Does that mean a farmer can call it grass fed. They aren't lying even though they could have fed it mostly in another way.? It's scary to know now that I was thinking I was eating healthy then to find out I've been putting mercury and dangerous pesticides inside my body when I was likely doing more good on processed. Which way of eating is now less harmful? So confusing. Would be more so worrying if you were feeding your children mercury and chemicals as they were growing to now find out. The answer is dont eat, food is dangerous in any form. Just maybe best to eat whatever you want, take your doctor's medicine to mask the symptoms the disease, because although food may be the answer and to address the root cause, but it's not available without dangerous chemicals. Even a fish that eats natural is poisoned by us, so as a good source of food is now dangerous to eat.😳😳😡🥴😱😱😶🌫️🙁

Before 50 years, almost everyone had a garden too. That makes the food been organic, because you don’t deal with big quantity. The same thing happens with the animals we all consume. How do you think they grow the grass for caws? I have a peach tree, and 3/4 goes to the garage every year. I do it because my garden is a therapy for me, but someone who has a family and depend on that productions, nobody in this world 🌍 works for free thinking about the others. Money talks all the time.

@@ewadziatkowska1059 good if caught by line (basic old fashioned fishing, often done by small groups, or specialist companies … labor intensive so usually more costly…,IF that fish is from fairly clean waters, so generally that entails “NOT farmed” (with a few exceptions, eg high quality operations). Ekberg doesn’t think fish is bad, instead pollution and methods of fish “production” create new issues so we need ideally to be careful - otherwise there’ll be high pollutant amounts in the fish we consume, and many of those pollutants found in fish nowadays are HIGHLY TOXIC TO BRAIN tissue. (And to developing fetuses, btw.)
@ewadziatkowska1059 The oceans are full of pollutants, poisons, heavy metals, etc. The fish and seafood live in a polluted environment. Their bodies are full of all sort of dangerous chemicals. If you want fish for food, eat those who don't live very long such as sardines, anchovies, etc.
Our Indian traditional diet is good for us. By God's grace i am fine at 70 and my Aunt is fine at 85. We follow simple life style. Praising the Lord Jesus Christ for better health .
Traditional Indian has to do less with religion but more with culture. India is a big country with thousands of relegious practices but we have a common culture that's what known as Indian culture
I eat strawberries & blueberries because I grow them & I know how they're grown. Folks need to try to grow more of their foods, even if it's in containers or even organic microgreens, which don't even need grow lights!!
All the years growing up we had acres and acres of vegetables and fruits we took the carrots right out of the dirt and item potatoes everything but we're talking about 50 years ago everything was safe then
I live in Los Angeles, so just breathing the air will give you dementia. I say my prayers and give thanks before every meal. I am grateful that I have food on my plate. It's getting to the point where it doesn’t matter what you eat anymore. It's all contaminated in one way or another. This planet is beyond polluted, and most humans have no desire to live a non consuming, minimalistic lifestyle. We've strayed too far from our natural path. Divine Intervention is our only hope.🙏
I used to live there when gasoline still had lead added to it. I’m lucky to have functional brain cells, although sometimes it’s doubtful. But think of all the kids who grew up breathing in lead fumes. Criminal!
Growing up as a child in Washington state, many of our small town parks were planted with enormous fruit trees. On the way to school, we could grab a pear, apples or whatever. We ate ripe, juicy plums by the bucket-load! Plums were everywhere. I still remember how wonderful it was to bite into a warmed by the sun - summer plum. Very seldom we got to the cherries, because the birds, especially robins, would eat them.
I grew up on a farm in eastern WA yakima valley .. Loved the sunkissed plums And Sweet juicy pear's Golden Delicious apples we had a garden with alittle bit of everything. All food tasted so good . now hardly any taste . Thankful for my youth and the harvest God put on our table .
I am from Washington State and can attest to your statement. Plums, 🍐, Blackberries, 🍎, and 🍒, if the birds left some on the lower branches... It is so different now. No abundance of fruit trees ANYWHERE around here.
Thank you so much for the explanations. Correct pace, enough details without over repeating, lovely tone of voice and English internationasl accent, etc. GREAT! THANK YOU!!!
Preservatives: "Why would you want it if even mould stays away from it". Really good point. If only more people were aware of the knowledge and wisdom of Dr. Ekberg!
Could be said for foods with preservatives as for foods which don't necessarily need preservatives but have however a long shelve life like sugar, seed oils, refined flour, biscuits, breakfast cereals, sweets, sodas... In a way, the processing is these foods preservative.
My mother developed dementia a few years ago. On Christmas she ate several pieces of pie, and I noticed that this greatly worsened her symptoms. I asked her to go on a ketogenic diet with me, and she returned to close to her old self. She doesn't seem to have nearly as much trouble with the carbs from eating fruit in limited amounts.
All that he mentioned my mother never did and still got dementia. Thankfully she's still alive a good patient, understands what we're saying but cannot express herself. She's 89
Exercise is the best for keeping our mind and our bodies in good condition My Mom lived to be 83 and she exercised everyday and had a great memory .She would still be alive today except a Crazy doctor gave her a pill that killed her. My grandmother who also exercised lived to be 91 and also had a great memory.
People, don’t forget that women go through menopause and then it’s like someone would cut off a man’s balls. No other animals (yes human are animals) go through menopause except human and whales. Maybe that’s why whales jump out of water …
@@kkiissssiikk Thank you for mentioning it. I just saw some videos from PhD Lisa Mosconi here on RUclips where she explained that women because of their menopause suffer more from dementia than men.
@@MM-mc5wq Thank you for the reference of Dr. Lisa Mosconi, I just went and found it. (Also, will help me to be less graphic and more scientists next time 😊 ) I Need to research more about menopause. Lisa looks like a younger lady. I took my reference from interview with Dr. Mary Claire Haver on The Diary of CEO channel. They claim she is #1 menopause doctor and she also was going through it herself, speaking from scientific and self-experience. But she talks more about symptoms and hormone therapy.
My grandmother lived to be a 100.She had 10 children work in their feilds in the mountains hard life. And Breakfast was Greek yogurt. They had pig every year eating olives halloumi bread fresh everyday meat once a week and lots of pulses.
I agree except I think there's more to cancer than sugar. Think about the animals, they don't (most don't) eat sugar yet cancer in dogs and cats have skyrocketed in the past decade. I think it's the chemicals, pesticides and other toxins.
I'm on the 4th day of a prolonged fast. Coffee,( black, no sugar) Teas, Water, sea salt, feeling fine. Strong, going to do Wim Hof breathing, then exercise!
My mom had dementia in her 90’s. She developed lymphoma and chose chemo tx in her late 80’s. We were shocked she chose to treat it with chemo at her age. Anyway physically she did very well. Mentally it destroyed her brain. She was with it up until then. The dementia drug cocktail made her a happy dementia. Strangely those final years were the happiest and most loving I ever knew her to be. Life is strange. Best advise I heard was her saying …Every little thing is going to be alright. Go live your best life and quit worrying. 😊
I was eating wild caught salmon and halibut fish from Alaska, but ended up with excess arsenic in my blood. Once I stopped eating fish, the arsenic levels dropped to normal levels. I called the poison control center and was told that fish can be highly contaminated with arsenic. And I did the blood test for heavy metals concerned about mercury!😳
I remember reading somewhere that the fish that are higher on the food chain like salmon, halibut and tuna tend to have higher concentrations of heavy metals. Just something to keep in mind the next time you are considering purchasing fish.
@@conjumonblue6450 This is ridiculous. In another video Dr. Ekberg did, he sung the praises of eating Salmon. I mean he ranked that #1 best fish to eat. So that's the fish I eat...

I have a good garden, and I spend hours everyday in it, I come from a farmer’s family, if people wants to eat more organic they have to buy the seeds, they are extremely expensive, make beds, nourish that soil, plant, take care of them everyday. Pick the fruits, processed them and you will eat a few months from it. Do that every year, there’s no vacations, or eat out of season from the store hopefully you won get sick. We all have to put in balance what is more important for us. Not everyone want to be a farmer, but we should be more conscious about where they go through too.
Like in European countrys, many people come to the city from the weekend with the car full of products. They plant all thinks good in the suburbs plus they are happy with the 😂❤❤❤ garden therapy.
Im never gonna stop eating fish. I also drink a few times a week. Dont touch sugar, fast 18 hour a day, eat meat, veg, and healthy fats. Im not doing anything else. What would be the point??? Love your vids Doc.
Finally all the facts together in one place... Great video. Should be introduced in primary schools as part of the biology classes or separate subject all together. Only one thing wasn't mention about sugars. When sugar (glucose) level in blood jumps up not only glucose resistance is created but also insulin level jumps up too. And insulin is a necessary bad hormone which has a bad effect on thyroid gland. When thyroid function is disrupted your ghrelin and leptin hormones go out of balance and makes you food intake increased dramatically which comes back to amount of toxin intake...
Also: Lack of socializing, stress, drug toxicity (in ears, etc), lack of faith/prayer, lack of mobility, lack of good sleep (specially deep sleep from 11pm to 2am). So watch what you eat and do and drink and how sleep and keep sharp, active and positive and connected.

Hi Dr. I am a 67 year old trying Keto as my last resort. I have no thyroid. It got disintegrated from a chemo treatment 40 years ago in Boston with two top specialists back then. 40 years ago. I was always a skinny kid and adult up to that point. Have been heavy since. Tried every diet, been to so called nutritionists (gained weight in THEIR plans) had two different shots, and nothing works. I also have sleep apnea, pernicious anemia, and digestive disorders. Since Keto, I feel MUCH better. I started on carnivore and was nauseous for two weeks and could not sustain that so I turned to Keto. Much better. I love the foods and I am shocked to tell you I have no cravings at all. Well sometimes I really want bacon. lol. But no sugar cravings AT ALL! Shocking for me. I thank you for all your info. I am getting a shocking education from all this. I hope this works. I have lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I have never been able to get over 12 pound loss. We will see if it continues!! I will continue with this lifestyle no matter what. I know reversing insulin resistance takes a long time. I’ve been like that for at least five years and want to break it. Thanks for all you do. It certainly makes a difference to me!!❤
All I can say is, you lie to yourself before you even start with something, that's why you don't get results....and U blame others, try to blame yourself first and reflect on that, apparently you don't do what others instruct you to do....
I feel the same Native Texan!! Brain fog is clearing for me too. Clarity feels like I am 20 years younger. I am 67. I thank the Lord for leading me to Keto. It was my last chance. I tried everything. I have no thyroid due to a chemo treatment 40 years ago in Boston with two top specialists! I also have sleep apnea, pernicious anemia and a stomach disorder. Very slow digestion. This sucks but Keto is helping. I sleep much longer now. From two hours a nite to now six hours. I feel like my brain is breathing for the first time in a long while. I sleep with a mask every nite and that helps me. I am happy for you as well. May God Grace bless you and your life journey!!❤
Same for me! In my early 30s I thought that I had dementia. Couldn't remember anything or count. Keto has really helped me but I would say that fasting has helped more.
@ hi! So happy that you are better! I cannot believe how much better I am! Making Dr William Davis’ yogurt with Reuteri!! Can’t wait to start on that. His Supergut book is amazing and eye opening! I highly recommend it
Properly sourced meat/fish of all kinds, butter, eggs, organic fruits/veggies of some varieties. Each person is different so one size does not fit all.
For all those who had family members that lived so long, their food was so different than what we eat today. More foods were made from scratch where today well....horrible pesticides, added sugars, and so on. This is a great video to get ourselves educated about what we eat.
Dear Dr. Ekberg, Thank you so much for your kind, humanly and true guides and explanations which helps majority of people to find their health path through... 🙏🙏🌺🌺 God bless you man, now and always🙏 I almost watched all the videos of yours and found everything interestingly beneficial and practical.
Thanks, now I know what I need to avoid to not get dementia! Thanks, now I know what I am supposed to avoid to not get dementia! Thank you, now I know what I need to avoid to not get dementia!
I like that he waited until now to mention that a number of these foods he has promoted in past videos can cause you to develop dementia. I went out and bought stuff on his recommendation that you can eat all you want of certain leafy greens, etc. It feels deceptive and I don't appreciate it. It also feels like I can't enjoy anything. Anytime I start to like something, "Oh, actually, this is BAD for you. You shouldn't have that."
Assistindo e comentando🤭
I think they don't know anymore than we do. I ate carefully and sensibly for most of my life. 6 months ago I had a triple bypass. Frig this. I'm going to eat what I want when I want for the rest of my life because ultimately it doesn't seem to make a darn bit of difference. Do what feels right for your body. I feel the best when I'm eating a mostly Mediterranean diet. I'm also going to indulge more than I did in the past because clearly being careful was of no benefit whatsoever.
@@emdee8840 Triple bypass? Oh I'm so sorry!! Driving back from town after shopping I was thinking the same as you. I'm going to be sensible and do the best I can, but I'm not listening to these people any more. Life is too short to be worrying and fussing over the small stuff. Keep strong and happy. Best wishes.
What a superb educator, respectful of the intelligence of his audience. No condescension or grandiosity with Dr Ekberg, he’s clearly secure with his superb science/medicine credentials and his lived experience as an Olympic athlete. Much of this channel’s content is basic for me, but not always. I don’t have time to keep up with the subjects he continually reassesses. I *really* respect Sten Ekberg! Great content, relevant for nearly all engaged/curious minds.
This is crossing off a lot of foods off the list of things that I thought were still reasonably safe. Can you do a video on some examples of healthy foods easy to find, and what you typically eat for breakfast, lunch (if any), dinner?
Two additions to your fine survey: modern bread is also bad because it is contaminated with the glyphosate (Roundup type pesticide) used as a sprayed desiccant just before harvesting and, IMHO, the supreme antioxidant Astaxanthin protects against aging in general.
What not to eat.. everything my father ate; Bread ( glyphosates, carbs and fortified with non heme iron) Honey ( pure glucose) Peanut butter and jelly Apple juice. That was the mainstay of his diet. Now he has dementia. Very little to no protein except a tiny portion of tuna or eggs once or twice a week. His brain was swimming in glucose 24/7 Don’t eat that way
You are incredible! You research and give solid evidence. There's not too many influences on RUclips who can be trusted. Thank you for being authentic!
It's awfully hard to eat all organic and grass fed. It's so expensive and the quality often is poor. I guess I'll have leaky gut, dementia, and fatty liver.
Why not just listen to what he has to say and learn from it, but make intelligent choices based on it? Even he has said many times that he doesn't adhere 100% to his own guidelines. They are just guidelines. Eliminating some of the biggest offenders is a good way to get a lot of breathing room to allow some other choices. I eat a fair amount of berries in my diet, but I have only a tiny amount of alcohol per year (maybe a couple of beers in a year and I recently tried to increase to a bottle or two of red wine, spread out in small portions, which I find helps my stomach a bit when I'm eating a lot more red meat). I generally eat pretty low carb most of the time, although I increase that when I am training hard. I eat around 3-4kg of blueberries per year and have about 2kg of my own strawberries per year that I use from my freezer. I have zero guilt for that. My liver GOT/GPT tests are generally very good and Hba1c sits around 5.0-5.1. You don't need to eat everything organic and grass fed to eat a very clean diet and have very good results in general.
This doctor is too technical. He has listed almost all of the kind of food I am accustomed to eating. I am 81 years old andin good health. If I followed this doctor's advice, I'd be a skeleton by now.
My God, your comment demonstrates an inability to comprehend a simple text or discussion. 😂 first of all the world is more polluted now than it was at the time you were born, the fish now is not the same as the fish you had when you were young….second he never said don’t eat anything, he warned against some popular foods full of pesticides or other harmful substances.
Animal studies have previously shown that consuming honey can improve cardiometabolic health. The research group comprehensively reviewed 18 studies, including comparative human clinical trials (median trial duration: 8 weeks) involving more than 1,100 participants. The results showed that eating honey tended to lower blood sugar levels, total cholesterol levels, bad LDL cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels, and also lowered markers related to fatty liver. Additionally, honey improved good HDL cholesterol and several markers associated with inflammation.
Honey has this fairytale image. But honey is nothing else than glucose with effect of destroying teeth more than sugar. Vitamins or minerals are there, but in a low concentration. And yes, bees grow and survivewith only honey, but we are no bees.
I'm always surprised that Tupelo Honey isn't mentioned more often - or at all - as an alternative to other honey or sugar. Most find It tastes better and its low GI (Glycemic Index ) is safer for diabetics and everyone else generally.
@@FX影の軍団 Honey has the quite the same chemical consistence as sugar, so its as unhealty as sugar. For the teeth its more unhealthy cause its sticky. The only honey which has a proven positive impact is Manuka.
Dr. Ekberg, I FINALLY kicked the diet soda out of my life!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉 I kept trying so many times and giving in...it's so addictive. It finally tastes terrible to me. If I'd never listened to your info on excitotoxins, etc I'd never have tried. THANK YOU!!!
Yes! It's a kind of sickly-sweet. I always drink plenty of water, but I notice now how dehydrated the soda still made me. It felt awful to keep "needing" something I didn't want.
I have alot of sugar cravings. For me chronic Candidiasis has been problematic for causing me to crave sugar. Candida is a very common issue in the US.
@user-yo1gk1ci4q You'll start to notice you will be rarely hungry, and you will begin to sleep deeply. I used to be hungry in the mornings, but now I only get hungry around noon or 1pm. You can drink water, tea, coffee. I put a little heavy whipping cream in my coffee. Please do not use skim milk. You need full fat. Carbs (bread, rice, potato) and sugars are your enemy.
I am a relatively inactive person. As a writer, artist, and physically lazy person, I love to sit here all day watching stuff on my big desktop computer, from Dr. Ekberg to Netflix, Prime, RUclips, etc. I rarely exercise (every a.m. in bed, with some Pilates on the side). I am pretty much keto, thanks to Dr. Ekberg. I have not eaten sugar in twenty-five years - white, brown or corn syrup - no cakes, no bread, gave up diet sodas I was addicted to, no processed foods. I mostly eat salads with shrimp, tuna and lots of green, red and yellow veggies, onions, etc. I sip warm water all through the day. I love coffee, but only have a couple of cups a day. I eat keto sweets ("Enlightened ice cream chocolate bars) and some strawberries cut up for breakfast with yogurt, cream a couple of teaspoons of peanut butter, cashews and stevia for flavoring. I only eat two kinds of fish: salmon and tuna. I eat eggs every couple of days - scrambled or hard-boiled. I love mayonnaise and olive oil. I've lost weight, have kept my shape, not flabby (though prone to weight fluctuation because I am a compulsive overeater, but since doing keto just keep losing, slowly).I had a recent physical with lab tests. I have ZERO health problems. Normal blood pressure; low cholesterol, heart is fine. So I'm not the "perfect specimen" of a health nut, in that I eat what I love, am mostly keto (a few low-carb crackers a couple of times a week) and hardly exercise at all. I won't say my age but here's a hint: I'm not a young person. Oh - and I meditate and pray daily for almost an hour, without fail. Frankly, that is, I believe, the greatest medicine of all. Just want to wrap with a big Thank You! to Dr. Ekberg for turning me on to keto. I don't agree with everything he recommends, but close. PS Wish I could eat more broccoli but frankly, it's to hard for me, even "well-cooked." and both my parents died fairly young: my mom, a lifelong smoker, at 49, my father, an athlete, at 67.
I was worried when "strawberries" were mentioned, but now that I know it is because of Pesticides, it is okay because we eat our own strawberries which don't get sprayed! Thank you, Sten, for this informative video. It is so easy to understand when you explain things. I learn something from every video. Biggest problem: SUGAR is addictive. One must quit Cold Turkey, because as long as you have that "sweet" taste and never allow your body to change back to normal sweetness, you will always seek sugar. I think it takes a week for one's tastebuds to adapt to a change in diet.
Any fruits or vegetables you buy at the store you have to wash when I did daycare they instructed us to wash the chicken in soap and water because of the crap they put in there
I had a stroke at 58 in February and for the life of me, all of this info simply makes it impossible for me to sort out what I should actually be eating.
I’m seeing a set of “talking points” being passed around my favorite video creators….be afraid of everything. Back when I started all this it was just to stop eating carbs/sugar and processed foods, I did that and I’m 100% better now. Told to be afraid of things like your microwave oven(on another channel) and other things start to take a toll mentally which isn’t so healthy either. Between the news media and some “health” channels danger lurks in every square inch of area in your space. I’m now headed out for my run, hope I don’t get hit by a car, when I get back I will prepare a grass fed unseasoned chicken breast and a glass of distilled water for my only meal today, lol. Seriously, I’m still going to do my best but this dangerous list of what use to be good is borderline ridiculous, I agree with some of it. You can’t run away from everything, we’re not living in 10,000 BC anymore, so enjoy life the best way you can. Sorry Doc Sten.
I think at some point you have to ask Yourself Is it really worth it. I don't really want to live to be 90. Quality of years over quantity of years.. I want to enjoy the food I eat not just have it as substance To live. I just plain stopped worrying about being poisoned. No longer care. It's getting harder to Afford food. What's considered healthy keeps changing. Just going to stick with in general everything in moderation.. What they're saying is needed to be safe and healthy just isn't realistic for a lot of people.
@@wimsylogic65 perfectly said. I will eat as healthy as possible but at times I will enjoy life. I’m born, raised and live in south Louisiana where we celebrate life every day. I love my Louisiana ❤️
Be happy, don't worry. In 5 or 10 years the experts tell us global warming will roast us alive and then the oceans will rise and wash our desiccated bodies out to sea!! Yay!! I'm kinda starting to look forward to that day.
I know statins are causing my spouse the signs of early Alz/Dementia. They won't admit it and listens to the doctor because of elevated cholesterol after trying to reduce the dosage and wean off of them. He was a 6 way bi-pass patient. So the doctor scared my spouse into taking them once again. I am expecting a lifestyle change in the near future if the symptoms continue. It is a big load to carry when you see it coming!
Another fantastic video. Dr. Ekberg, when you mentioning Monk Fruit (in around 24:00 minutes) , did you mean Stevia as it appeared on screen behind you ? Thank you for all your wonderful content. I'm huge fan !!!
Dr. Ekberg, I'm not sure if you've addressed this, but I'd like to hear your thoughts about it. Rice has some sort of spore, which is not destroyed by cooking. Cooked rice, if kept for a few days, can grow this spore in the rice. I know that for myself, if I ever eat rice, even right after cooking, it always gives me a lot of gas. At first, I thought this was just because of the carbs, but other carbs don't affect me this severely, so I'm assuming that it's the spore causing the gut upset. Thanks for the awesome video, I love all your content.
Dr Elbert, at 24:00 you mid-spoke and say ‘Splenda and monk fruit’ instead of ‘stevia and monk fruit’, and that they’re natural sweeteners. Love your videos. Thank you for helping me get healthy! God bless you.
So happy to see more lenguages. I can finally share your videos with my mom. Thank you for re-investing in spreading knowledge. ❤❤ My favorite YT doctor❤❤
At about 24:30 you said that Splenda and monkfruit were natural and good, but the screen says Stevia and Monkfruit. I think you accidentally mis-said Splenda when you meant Stevia as the natural sweetener. Thank you for your videos! I really appreciate them. 👍👍👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😀💕🌸
@@Judahthanksgiving Try the raw leaf. The store bought Stevia is highly processed into a white powder and to me has a bitter aftertaste. I cut a leaf off of one of my plants and put in a beverage. The leave sweetens my drink. The plants are annuals so you have to grow a new plant each year. I have to start some more plants as I am out of it at the moment.
@@Judahthanksgiving Last year, I bought some plants in 4” pots at a local store (forgot the store now), and bought seeds online this year from “Botanical Interests”. The variety is called Candy and the seeds are certified organic. They are small plants about 12” tall in my area, but the package says 18” to 30”. The plants like full sun to part shade. Mine grow in almost constant shade as the sun is so hot here in SoCal and the temps soar to 110+ sometimes. If you are in zone 10 it will grow as a perennial. I plan to try growing it inside this year in a aeroponic setup in my kitchen on the counter so it will be handy to grab a leaf.

Plus so much purportedly organic food is fraudulently labeled. I have heard of grocers and farmers market workers laugh that produce from the same shipments is parceled out and portions of it get an organic label slapped on it and get sold at a higher price point. I have heard it referred to as a "beautiful scam".
People say eat organic but you don't know if it's really organic unless you grow it yourself and don't use chemicals and then even the soil that you use it in can also be contaminated just from the air pollution

Very sensible comments from Dr. Sten. I am already on a keto diet, but listening to this video teaches me some new things and further deepens knowledge. Thanks.
Britain's King Charles and his daughter-in-law, Catherine have access to best of every thing and both eat fresh organic food. Both are being treated for cancer.
You seem to not be aware that things other than foods can create toxic conditions within the body! I am referring to total environmental affectations, such as the air we breathe, the things we touch that can enter the body through the organ of our skin, everything we have been exposed to throughout our lifetimes! The food we eat is only one factor!
SO what CAN we eat Doctor ??? seriously I am interested in knowing what foods are good to eat because what the super markets offer is extremly limited , I grow a little myself but not enough to live on , thank you
Beef, chicken, pork, eggs salt and butter. Mostly beef. Cream and stevia in my coffee. Your body will start craving fatty beef more than anything. Fake food becomes gross. Most menus are full of useless non-food.
Hi Dr Sten. First and foremost, thank you SO much for your wonderful work and videos. One thing I noticed is that you don't talk much in the context of active vs non-active lifestyle. For example, I've been a lifelong cyclist and bike 6-10 thousand miles every year. I ride at least 20 miles per day. I also suffer from chronic pain related to crash injuries (spinal fusions) and have to take Pregabalin, Duloxetine etc to control pain. But I continue to ride, hike, garden, and keep my body moving all day long. It's when I become inactive in the evening, and in sleep, that my body hurts and causes terrible sleep and misery getting out of bed. My A1C is 5.6 and glucose typically around 9, or just in range. This said, I was a drinker for most of my life (cyclists luuuv beer!) until last year, due to the interaction with the meds (started causing terrible headaches) and admit to drinking sodas and iced teas and lots of starch and bagels and other high sugar foods esp during the summer. I have no choice. When you are out riding, and you stop at a convenience, the only alternatives are water and "diet" beverages which are worse than HFCS for example. And you can't just drink water; it has to have kick, electrolytes, etc. So what do you do? Kind of the same problem with foods -- everything sold at these places is junk really, but you have to eat. I don't ever hear you touching on this, in spite of you yourself having been an athlete. IMO, the body processes these ingredients in a different manner when you are athletic vs sedate, and your videos seem to assume we are all sedate. In the meantime, I am caught out in confusion because nobody understands me and how I can be in so much pain yet remain so active. Without the pain meds above I would be debilitated completely, yet is the sugars somehow contributing to it? I would love to see you do an episode on this where it relates to inflammatory foods on the fit body vs the out of shape, and how serious quantities of exercise affect how we process sugars and this "bad stuff". Thanks so much and be well!
How about preparing healthy food at home and take it with you? We used to when cycling a whole day out. It's a routine - remember the lunch boxes for our school children. Take care
I am growing my own…without using anything other than sun and rain going into the soil. They also reproduce easily. Next year I expect to have more. I have planted different varieties in hopes of getting strawberries 🍓 throughout the season. Some are ever bearing, some are June bearing, etc.
Right?! My hubby likes to go strawberry picking every year and we need to ask if they are spraying them. He buys so much and freezes them… except last year the weather was terrible for strawberries and we barely got any.
I've had to quit everything. I'm day 45 of carnivore and haven't had any crisis's. It's taking a while to clear the brain but depression lifted the first week. Some people do this as a tempoary elimination diet but I'm thinking this will be a way of life for me now. Every time I strayed from keto (because of carb addiction) it took longer to get back. Just an example of my brain deteriation I was driving thru my home town, of 40 years, and got lost twice in one week. Lost my bearings. It's not fun.
I love my coffee....I drink about 6 cups a day (which is 3 cups) , overeat blueberries and have rice in the Indian Cuisine I love so much. Because I have hemmorhoids and gall stone ... there is not much I can eat unless I can get my nutrients directly form the air and the sun. I give up...I'm going to embrace my inner dementia..🤣
@jaynawilliams8923…research gallbladder formula online (with betaine hydrochloride)…”maybe” you need more bile in your system….and that is what is causing your gallstones. Bile helps to break up fats that we eat.
Horrible thumbnail. Strawberries are perhaps the best food for reducing the risk of dementia. High intake of strawberries was associated with a 34% reduced risk in a study published in the Nutrients journal.

Growing up as a child in Washington state, many of our small town parks were planted with enormous fruit trees. On the way to school, we could grab a pear, apples or whatever. Very seldom we got to the cherries, because the birds, especially robins, would eat them.

You don't touch sugar but alchol acts like a sugar in the body ..

This is crossing off a lot of foods off the list of things that I thought were still reasonably safe. Can you do a video on some examples of healthy foods easy to find, and what you typically eat for breakfast, lunch (if any), dinner?
Animal protein and fat in the absence of seed oils, except for farmed fish obviously.
He mentioned everything that is big farmed. Maybe we should cultivate our own fruits, at least.
find some local small organic growers of food or grow your own. Its the big farmed fish and veg and fruits you need.
Two additions to your fine survey: modern bread is also bad because it is contaminated with the glyphosate (Roundup type pesticide) used as a sprayed desiccant just before harvesting and, IMHO, the supreme antioxidant Astaxanthin protects against aging in general.
Full of cellulose, wood particles, very bad for stomach, etc.
What not to eat.. everything my father ate;
Bread ( glyphosates, carbs and fortified with non heme iron)
Honey ( pure glucose)
Peanut butter and jelly
Apple juice.
That was the mainstay of his diet.
Now he has dementia. Very little to no protein except a tiny portion of tuna or eggs once or twice a week.

The results showed that eating honey tended to lower blood sugar levels, total cholesterol levels, bad LDL cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels, and also lowered markers related to fatty liver.

I caught that, too. I hope you can edit that passage.
Control your soil. Control the rain water. Control the tap water which is full of chemicals. Good night.
Any fruits or vegetables you buy at the store you have to wash when I did daycare they instructed us to wash the chicken in soap and water because of the crap they put in there

Basically it’s - Eat organic fruits and veggies and small fish like flounder. No fried foods or artificial sweeteners
At first, I thought this was just because of the carbs, but other carbs don't affect me this severely, so I'm assuming that it's the spore causing the gut upset. dr Ekberg za tak dokładne informacje które otrzymujemy na Pana kanale co i jakie choroby nas czekają z wiekiem oraz jaki pokarm może nam pomóc w utrzymaniu zdrowego organizmu.
Serdecznie pozdrawiam i życzę Panu dużo zdrowia.
Very sensible comments from Dr. Sten. I am already on a keto diet, but listening to this video teaches me some new things and further deepens knowledge. Thanks.
Ditto.
Britain's King Charles and his daughter-in-law, Catherine have access to best of every thing and both eat fresh organic food. Both are being treated for cancer.
That's just a cover story and that's not even the real Charles! You'll find out soon....
Lets have the facts then. You talk a load of rubbish. Insulting at best, you need some sort of psychological treatment.@@starflower4544

My god! I'll starve. What can you eat then if all these foods are not advised?
Take care
Thank You Doc, greeting from Germany to all person in the world.
Thank you @chiyuen2171 😄
Have a great weekend !

Can I please keep strawberries if I wash them thoroughly?
I am growing my own…without using anything other than sun and rain going into the soil. They also reproduce easily. Next year I expect to have more. I have planted different varieties in hopes of getting strawberries 🍓 throughout the season. Some are ever bearing, some are June bearing, etc.
Can you wash over 200 toxins sprayed n their thin skin??? Go organic or eat something else, Strawberry flavoring isnt great but better than spray,
Right?! My hubby likes to go strawberry picking every year and we need to ask if they are spraying them. He buys so much and freezes them… except last year the weather was terrible for strawberries and we barely got any.
@@sslexus430 definitely ask
Whoops! at 24:24 monk fruit & Splenda... should be monk fruit & STEVIA. Great video, as always!
Stevia caused my blood pressure to drop, too 80/57!! Had to give it up!
Thank you for your clarity, kindness, and generosity: love.
Cannibals
I get the brain fog also its a worry.
Your choice 🤷🏻♀️
😂 the rice gave you hemorrhoids and gall stones. Rejoice!
Get your haemorrhoids operated on and removed if you afford it. It completely turned my life around!
@jaynawilliams8923…research gallbladder formula online (with betaine hydrochloride)…”maybe” you need more bile in your system….and that is what is causing your gallstones. Bile helps to break up fats that we eat.
Please read my comment. I'm with you.
YEAH, Thanks alot Kelloggs..
That was an epic video !!
Amazing that these things are sold in the food sections...
Makes no sense. List includes almost all edible food that we can't eat. How can we survive?
I have cut all these, you can survive, just stop being lazy

哇! Dr. Sten Ekberg 的中文讲得很好!
Horrible thumbnail. Strawberries are perhaps the best food for reducing the risk of dementia. High intake of strawberries was associated with a 34% reduced risk in a study published in the Nutrients journal.
Click bait!
strawberries are infused with pesticides
The pesticides ON the strawberries are bad...clean them
@@jogilliland8364 I buy frozen organic, but I am sure they still use natural pesticides. I am pretty sure the manufacturer washes before freezing.
Thanks SO MUCH for your knowledge & Reminders 😊
Thanks 😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
