Glad you guys made this video. I was kind of intimidated about changing the nozzles myself until I watched it. I ordered a set and they were really easy to change and I’m happy with how the truck runs with them
Getting ready to install my new PDD injectors today. With ~18* of timing, would you go skinny or medium copper washers? Will mentioned if you run a lot of timing run the skinny but I'm not sure 18* is what he's talking about. Thanks!
So love idea of doing myself I have a 24 valve and not sure what previous owners may have done with injectors so what do you suggest I bought Quadzilla from you want fun towable but not crazy will upgrade turbo later?
Can bigger injector nozzles be put on stock bodies? I have my 5x10 stock injectors, could they properly atomize a 5x14 nozzle? Or will it spray with less pressure and burn dirty? Thank you.
Ok after how many miles would you recommend buying complete injectors over just replacing the nozzles? I wanna go to a 100hp injector but I have 140k on the stock ones.
140k should still be ok for just nozzles if your really concerned have a local shop pop test them before adding the nozzles, last set i did had 323xxx on them
So large nozzle injectors will flow just as little as stocks because of inmproper pressure balance between control area and needle area. Translation: large nozzles are lazy and extend duration time and injector duration with the same energize time. The goal is to mimic stock injector timing with larger higher flowing nozzles. Question- how much bigger of a nozzle before body modification is needed? In other words, accepted timing goes out of spec at what percentage of the nozzle being enlarged. I want to do 60% nozzle swaps. Thank you.
What about spray angle ? Does it make any difference on performance or why there are 3 different angles for the 24V. I want to get a set but not sure what's best for me
the spray angle does matter, the smaller degree allows you to run more timing because the injector is spraying deeper into the bowl but this generally only matters for really high powered trucks. we have ran all of them and find the 153 to be the best all around angle.
This goes out to anyone i went an changed the nozzles on my 99 didge 24v an found 2 shims not just 1 is there supposed to be 1 or 2 shims under the spring
Great video ! Man i wish I still had my good old first gen ! Everything was so easy to fix..... now with the common rail it is a very expensive nightmare 🙈
All depends on transmission set up, fuel pump, vp44 wear, etc. Generally if you just have a stock truck I think a 50-75 hp injector will be tons especially if you still have a stock tranny be careful. I do know of guys running much bigger injectors in stock trucks though. Just remember smokey means hot and heat isnt good. Plus if you dont have an aftermarket lift pump, id be getting one asap even if its just a temporary ddrp or adjustable fass or airdog 100 gph pump. If youre getting injectors, get the supporting mods first, and if youre wanting a cleaned up truck, id invest in a tuner first and see how you like it. Edge and quadzilla tuners work well with these injectors.
@@pddofficial big ole hybrids on stock oil make stupid power for stock or close to stock fuel systems and the bottom ends are as stout as a common rail

It's so nice for you guys to give out all of the information that you need to be a true do it yourself guy.. P.D.D ROCKS!!!
They are good and it's simple as it gets we should go back to the old school ways and remove government from everyone's life.

Doing my 24v injector nozzles right now and it's Soooooo easy to do and it's fun...try it.
Excellent diy info for sure, and a very nice video thank you
This is great! You guys are awesome! I am very tempted to get some ordered very soon. Thanks for the video!

Great Video! just wondering if you guys offer injector nozzles for 3rd gen 04-07 5.9 cummins?
Can't wait to get 7x0.009 SAC for my 24v . should be here monday. gonna be sweet. Thanks for the info and video very informative.
What would you recommend for a pop pressure on the (2000)24valve.

Yes, bigger nozzles are put on stock bodies every day of the week! Body modifications don't really become necessary till nozzle size surpasses 5x018".
Thank you very much. I love that you guys take the time to share info with us DIY guys. It inspires confidence.
Do you have the same for a 6.7 Cummins
Great info I will do a set of my own yea. 🙂
Thank you. Very helpful.
Do you out source for larger nozzles? Company I work with abrasive flow hones them over stock size

Is it the nozzles that makes them high performance or is it something else
Not sure why any DIY person would even consider going elsewhere for parts, only to potentially do the job twice. Kudos. 👏🏾
Any benefit to running new nozzles on a 08 6.7 deleted 120 hp truck? 195k miles
Which side of the big shim does the thin shim go? Does it matter?

Would bumping up to 90hp tips be considered preboost HP?
What torque do you suggest on the 12v retainer nuts?
Do you no the nozzle part number for a discovery 2 td5 on the 15p engine

Hey i need injectors for my bmw e39 530d. Is this something you can make? Its a 3.0l commonrail diesel
no sorry
Hey Will, Do you guys sell a shim set in case we do own a pop pressure tester?

PowerDrivenDiesel i should put a 12v with a stick shift in my 4th gen....🤔😬
Do you guys have injector tip kits for 03 5.9 common rail?
Non intercooled friendly?
Yes
Do u have the industrial inline injector pump with the injector pipe for a 24v Cummins 5.9l
We do not
where do you get your parts from, oem or aftermarket? Also, where do you get solenoids for the injectors?
repairvehicle solenoids? This is mechanical injection...
He is referring too common rail injectors obviously... that must be hard to grasp dena
@@denaboersma6983 , I know. But they rebuild never injectors too.
So have big of a nozzle is a stock 24v injector able to run?

Torque for the hold down nut on the 24v injector is 37 ft lbs, not sure for the 12v i would assume it's close to the same 30 to 35
12 valve is the same 35-40 ft-lbs
Ten 4 i figured it would be close lol
So there isn’t any restriction from the injector body itself? Only the nozzle determines potential fuel?
Yeah, when the fuel pressure is already turned up it's just the nozzles.
Jared Rhein makes sense, I was told otherwise the other day, so I figured now was the perfect time to ask lol. Thanks.
