    The all-new Ford Puma isn’t just a small SUV with a name inspired by a big cat. Nope, this compact SUV has some serious claws, because it could be one of the best driving - if not the best to drive - small SUVs on the market.
    The Puma arrived in Australia late in 2020, with Ford’s local arm renewing its push to be seen as more than just the Ranger and Mustang brand.
    And it launched the Puma crossover into one of the busiest segments of the new car market, where more than 20 light SUV and small SUV models vie for a slice of the sales pie.
    As buyers move away from hatchbacks like the Focus and into SUVs like the Puma - or step up to something larger, like the new Escape - there is a chance for brands to establish themselves as dominant in one way or another in the segments they play in. For Ford, the brand’s heritage dictates that driving dynamics and enjoyment are a key focus, and the Puma ST-Line - the mid-spec model in the brand’s three-tier range - is certainly fun behind the wheel.

    My favourite in this class by far - great model and not perfect but close although maybe too close to Focus Active in price :)

    I bought ST-Line nearly a month ago. I'm super happy so far, it's fun to drive for sure. Park pack is a must have option. The are super rare on the roads, I haven't seen another one so far. The fuel economy I'm getting is 5.8l/100km mixed and 7.5l/100km city driving, fuel tank is smaller, but with that economy the range is on par with others in the segment.

      The reason you don't see many of these is cause they have been a sales flop sales per month are no were near a mitsi ASX or cx3 and no doubt will be a resale disaster in years to come

      Purchasing the ST Line X automatic with the slightly larger 1.55 vs 1.2 engine incl Park Pack and premium paint.

    I have one but it's a hybrid. I live in Italy you see and the fuel economy is a fair bit improved compared to the non hybrid model. I don't understand why Puma hybrids are not available in Australia.

    The Puma is produced in my country and the equipment you guys get in Australia is a bit strange. I've driven both St-line and Titanium x (a trim which is above both Titanium and St-line). I got the titanium x because I dont like the ride of the st-line. As standard it has heated steering wheel and seats, privacy glass, b&o stereo, 18 inch wheels, auto climate, heated front glass and mirrors and some other small stuff. I added some driver assist features and it costed me 20.5 k euros and with the money the gov gave me for getting a hybrid, I got it for 18k. So the prices I see in Australia are also high. Either way, it's a good caras long as you get it for less than 20k. I also test drive the skoda and the hyundai, both felt extremely cheap and sluggish.

    This is exactly what the US needs. I'd hop on this immediately if it was available. Why must Ford HOSE the USDM with car envy when they make dynamic & expressive models for the world market?!!?

    Ford Australia and its fascination with ridiculous high entry RRP ,seriously the top line ST-Line V should be $29,990 DA, you might as well buy the Focus Active over this spec Ford Puma and it will be the better of the two over the long run with a larger capacity engine and proper 8 s-peed torque converter.

    What’s the point of wireless charging when you have wired Apple car play.

    • @351tgv
      @351tgv 3 года назад +1

      not everyone is a sheep using the crapple dumbphone. Also you don't have to use 3rd party systems when Ford Sync 3 does a fine job combined with seamless bluetooth connection.

      I don't connect CarPlay all the time, only on a new route or trip. Wireless charging is a nice feature IMO. But the 2021 model will not include it.

    The VW T - Cross is still the best small SUV Segments according to the experts on everything road handling value for your money and 200NM of torque as apposed to the Puma 175 NM🙄

    Good as it is, year to date already a sales failure in Australia with the ancient Mazda CX-3 outselling it 10:1. The Ranger company Ford remains...

    V is for VIGNALE ( which is a luxury edition so you can understand ), Keyless entry exists for VIGNALE again, if you don't know nothing about cars and models I suggest you should find yourself another job !
