However, I know MF Ghost has a huge emphasis on the car, and more emphasis on all the drivers than compared to the tidbits of background we got from opponents in initial D. Also, the storyline of the main character, Kanata, looking for his real parents in Japan is really touching, and the romance stuff going on in the background is pretty fun to watch. I will most likely watch both Hi-Drivers and MF Ghost, but the PV’s show me that I more anticipate the excitement of MF Ghost with a more complication and interesting premise than Hi-Driver’s cliche, conquering the world. Despite Initial D focused on beating all in Japan, MF Ghost doesn’t have Kanata placing first in races, which makes the story that much more entertaining. If there is more information on Hi-Drivers, I’d be excited to check it out, but I honestly feel that they somewhat lack the aces in the hole MF Ghost has up it’s sleeve later on, with more thought and detail on the driver’s racing techniques as well as the plentiful battle scenes. MF Ghost on the other hand will more than likely knock it out of the park with everyone who grew up watching Initial-D but might be a little more difficult to resonate with the younger audience. All in all, I'm super excited for the new shows regardless whichever one is regarded as the "better" one!
I want to believe that NFS Carbon came to the producers' minds one way or another in the creation of HI-DRIVERS, right from the get go, it seems like the name came from the song “High drivers”, it was used in NFS Carbon like a theme song, you could hear it in the intro, “press the start button” screen (sort of), some cutscenes, and in the near end of the game, plus, the fact that the characters are based on what kind of districts they're located in with such distinctive designs, it all screams Carbon to me!, but even if it didn't, i am still looking forward to watch it when HI-DRIVERS comes out!
I feel if MF Ghost had progressed quicker than it currently is, it would be really good. The meat in mf ghost is like around the 100+ chapters point towards the double digits for the volume number, where things start to really become interesting, as I’ve been keeping up with the manga. Agreed. I did see a lot of negativity towards MF Ghost that almost made me not try to read it. One of those comments said that they didn't continue reading beyond Chapter 50. Right now, I'm still within 100 chapters in, and I'd say it's going well so far. The first chapters and the first race was kinda boring and didn't leave much of an impression. However, when I got to read Ashinoko GT race, there were some parts of it that got me on the edge of my seat. Afterwards, the story got more interesting. It definitely takes quite a while before the story begins to pick up, but the later chapters made me appreciate it more.

mfghost is better, trust me hi drivers is just another new anime with good art style and no soul. Mfghost is a good story with history and amazing fan base, you cant even compare them
I read MFG manga and I think MFG can living up to ID legacy. Well, maybe not as intense as ID because we all know street racing world is not good as legal racing world. But still, MFG have a lot of potential.
Have the Hi Drivers shown some car scenes (on track or racing) yet? Because I heard some noise about it being just... A dance themed PV sprinkled with cars (which I honestly hope is not the case). MF Ghost on the other hand already certain it will involve racing.
After looking at the Hi-Driver trailer,im afraid that the anime doesnt really focused on the driving physic, and will be always drifting in corner or maybe even like a jump from bridge to the other side
sorry to burst the bubble, but as a manga person, i can safely say mf ghost is going to be not only slow at picking up at the story, it's also going to be pretty mid. and it's going to be a circuit racing thing where there will be drift like techniques, but not enough angle to be a drift and more like a skid.
Ouch, the American butchering of the Japanese names used in this video feels like headaches each time xD Thanks for letting me know about Hi-Drivers. Huge fan of Initial D.
Neither get the Crown. Also, I am sick of street racing. I prefer motorsport on actual circuits. That's stuff that Capeta, F(Motori in Pista) and Cyber Formula actually were about. I'd rather watch ToppuGP if it was ever to get an anime. So, if we were to talk about getting the modern crown, it seems like it going to be Overtake! Also, whilst in Initial D you may believe some battles could be won, MF Ghost seems to stretch it really far here with the possibilities. Some duels make it more likely for Logan Sargeant in the Williams beating Max Verstappen in the Red Bull.
I think MF Ghost will not be good as Initial D, but i dont loose hope. (actually i think that MF Ghost Lost that old JDM vibe of Initial D so it will be a different anime. But maybe it will have other vibe which will be better. I hope.)
MF ghost makes no sense for me from the beginning..a gt86 winning everything against much much more potential cars..takumi cant drive anymore? yeah, no. Will watch it anyway
At first it seemed to make no sense, but as the story progresses it is understood why, since the competition in which they participate has a trick, something that had already been brewing since Initial D by Ryosuke Takahashi (Initial D character who is the creator of the MF Ghost competition shown in the manga), something that anyone who follows motorsports will understand is that not everything is dictated by power, when you look at street sports cars and their racing counterparts, many times the street car has more power but in practice they are slower, this has to do with the preparation of racing cars, where torque and the weight/power ratio are more important. At the beginning, the GT86 does have a great disadvantage and it is not able to win races, but as the story progresses, updates are made as the protagonist begins to understand the rules (something that most of the participating racers have not fact), even several of the leading cars are notably less powerful than the most common among other racers, being very notable that these have around between 250hp and 350hp, while the others opt for cars of more than 500hp and tend to be the ones that struggle the most to stay in the lead.
MF Ghost has 4 tracks which means a possible 4 seasons with 12 EP every seasons OR 2 seasons with 24eps and 2 tracks per season and EHEM Eurobeat... So HI-Drivers (which isn't out yet) will need to be VERY good and long and focused on racing rather then character development but from what I've heard HI-Drivers might be more focused on the characters rather then racing but hey never know
I have seen those rumors as well. It will be interesting to see if that actually happens or if all the music is part of creating hype for the show. I agree with you though that if it does end up being a musical I'll have to pass.
Unless MF Ghost really drops the ball, I feel like the surge from Initial D fans will help it float or fly. I think it looks good and still has the same animation feel as Initial D with the race shots, and that soundtrack better be just as legendary since it's also using Eurobeat. Hi-Drivers is gonna have more air to breathe on it's own because it has no prequel, and I also really like the art style. The premise is interesting, and I'm hoping it keeps that on it's delivery to keep the viewer engaged. I also feel like, because of the aesthetic of the shots shown, it's gonna have a nice soundtrack too. Some hip-hop, some dubstep/electronic, and some rock vibes coming off of it. It'll be interesting to watch both, and I hope they both do well. But we'll see. Initial D is a hard mountain to crest, especially since it hasn't really been dethroned that I can recall for the racing genre.
HI Drivers have a pretty good shot at taking the win so long as they arent a musical, Mf Ghost may have a small advantage due to its heritage and nostalgia. BUT I DONT CARE! We desperately needed more car anime so we shall take all we can get
Hi-Drivers has a great concept for audience participation, and they're not hiding it like "Lost" did. They're open about it, making the followers want in on the action. I vote Hi-Drivers.
i think they'll both do well. judging from the character designs HIDRIVERS is like 99% pretty boys and might appeal more to women, while MFGhost could appeal more to men and/or pure car enthusiasts. it kinda feels like need for speed VS grand turismo
Which of these are you looking forward to more, MF Ghost or Hi-DRIVERS?

for me there's no competition, im just happy that, there will be 2 upcoming car racing anime.
Is it just me, or is there almost zero racing shown in the Hi-Drivers footage? It just looks like a bunch of concert performances and posing...
As a Tokyo xtreme racer fan, i would go for Hi-drivers
I’m looking forward to Hi-drivers. It does have some Tokyo Xtreme Racer vibes
hi-driver because i too own a VAB WRX STI :^)
My first ever racing cartoon was *Michel Vaillant.*
Anyone else?
the Hi-drivers cars in the poster literally remind me of cars 2
If only they would do something similar with motorcycles.
mfghost is better, trust me
hi drivers is just another new anime with good art style and no soul. Mfghost is a good story with history and amazing fan base, you cant even compare them
MFG = Initial D
Hi-Drivers = Wangan Midnight(ish)
both will be good just like the old times
Hopefully we can get the same thrills from these two as we did from Initial D and Wangan Midnight, it will be tough though!
@@AnimeKage11 i already got the Initial D vibes with MFG. hope it will serve us right in the long run!
MF Ghost on the other hand already certain it will involve racing.
underrated !! thts wht u r
After looking at the Hi-Driver trailer,im afraid that the anime doesnt really focused on the driving physic, and will be always drifting in corner or maybe even like a jump from bridge to the other side
Whichever anime has eurobeat is gonna be the one I'm watching lol
You know what I am just glad that we are getting more racing anime, that's all :)
I agree 😁
Honestly, the MF Ghost manga had such a weak plot that the show authors are gonna seriously struggle to deliver more than just an animated race.
The anime production company will have to take a lot of creative liberties to expand on the source material.
@@AnimeKage11 to put it mildly...
😄
Has anyone seen one actual episode of hi driver? I can’t find anything other than trailers.
Hoping against hope for an RX7 in either of these.
MF ghost and takumi back as mentor??? Count me in 😊
sorry to burst the bubble, but as a manga person, i can safely say mf ghost is going to be not only slow at picking up at the story, it's also going to be pretty mid. and it's going to be a circuit racing thing where there will be drift like techniques, but not enough angle to be a drift and more like a skid.
Initial d and Wangan Midnight are two of my favorites that is all
I think it's gonna be like wangan Midnight and the OG Initial D . Both of them are amazing but it depends on what your looking for.
I hope they both end up exceeding expectations
@@AnimeKage11 Same here, there ain't enough of them
Initial d is king mf ghost might be the prince 🧍🏽♂️
Ouch, the American butchering of the Japanese names used in this video feels like headaches each time xD Thanks for letting me know about Hi-Drivers. Huge fan of Initial D.
If I were the anime I would do a collab with a game to hype the anime even more
Racing Anime Crown Initial D
I would like to suggest another racing anime. Overtake! similar release time as MF Ghost
I hope.)
HI-Drivers isnt car related, its more to music genre with fast cars thats all
MF ghost makes no sense for me from the beginning..a gt86 winning everything against much much more potential cars..takumi cant drive anymore?
Nothing beats Initial D and Wagon Midnight
MF Ghost has 4 tracks which means a possible 4 seasons with 12 EP every seasons OR 2 seasons with 24eps and 2 tracks per season and EHEM Eurobeat... So HI-Drivers (which isn't out yet) will need to be VERY good and long and focused on racing rather then character development but from what I've heard HI-Drivers might be more focused on the characters rather then racing but hey never know
Hi drivers is rumored to be a musical.
Just... no
I have seen those rumors as well. It will be interesting to see if that actually happens or if all the music is part of creating hype for the show. I agree with you though that if it does end up being a musical I'll have to pass.
@@AnimeKage11 yeah also could you make a video about countach which is a partially translated manga
I'm not familiar with Countach, thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to check it out!
@@AnimeKage11 it’s pretty good
I’ll check it out 😃
I thought Hi-Drivers was just a music video, something changed ?
MF Ghost has already been seen very unrealistic coming hot from the extremely realistic initial D so I don't know, will see
MF ghost got my vote. Neither will outdo Initial D tho.
I gave up on cars they’re nice but when’s a bike anime coming out
HI Drivers have a pretty good shot at taking the win so long as they arent a musical, Mf Ghost may have a small advantage due to its heritage and nostalgia. BUT I DONT CARE! We desperately needed more car anime so we shall take all we can get
At least hi-drivers has real looking people
cant wait for HI Drivers
Hi-Drivers has a great concept for audience participation, and they're not hiding it like "Lost" did. They're open about it, making the followers want in on the action. I vote Hi-Drivers.
i think they'll both do well. judging from the character designs HIDRIVERS is like 99% pretty boys and might appeal more to women, while MFGhost could appeal more to men and/or pure car enthusiasts. it kinda feels like need for speed VS grand turismo
Overtake!! Great too
