The instapot brand is what the cdc and NHS have said is just as effective as an autoclave you can also do spore test inside of them to ensure yours is functioning properly and able to skill spores.

I have a question, I’d like to use my oven with the sterilization packages, it looks like their indicators only change with steam or chemical sterilization-are there packages out there that will show an indicator when dry heat sterilized?

You’ll need to purchase heat changing tape to close your packages with

Can you use a UV hot towel cabinet? Temperature reaches 158F and if so how long should stainless steel instruments stay in?

I have used my oven for decades to sterilize my instruments but in the last few months they catch on fire! Not sure why it isn't working anymore but wonder if I need to see if thermostat is no longer working.

I’ve been using an instant pot max: it gets 15 psi, so like 250 degrees, for 30 minutes..It prob is more like 15 -20 minutes bc it does take time to reach pressure, and then release pressure once it’s finished..
I do this with cleaned/lubed instruments that are in paper instrument bags, wrapped in sterilization tape. I was told this was affective. I take out when done and either dry in oven at low heat or just leave on the counter to dry. Is this not the right way? Should they not be in bags? I’m freaking out a bit like maybe I’ve been doing wrong…!!

So…are you saying cord clamps and scissors don’t need to be sterilized, just disinfected?

Yes, however, because American is really into its ‘hygiene theater’, it’s probably best to still sterilize your equipment.

If it is ok, I would like to use this video on my channel until the time comes that I can film a proper video. I am a foot nurse focused on training laypeople in preventive diabetic foot care and it might be very helpful! www.youtube.com/@ThePeoplesFootCare

I tried the oven method at 320 for 2 hours… I now have plastic coated instruments and will be tossing those and starting over. 10/10 I do not recommend.

Plastic steam packs are not useable in a dry heat oven. You would need to use paper wraps with dry heat.
