No, there's always been plenty of things about the old lore that didn't make much sense or was left stupidly vague. (mostly because of plot contrivances..) Let's not give the newer writers ALL the credit for Warcraft's convoluted lore and sadly often not very fleshed out worldbuilding. Not to say I like all the new directions the lore has been heading into, infact I hate most of it but I just wanted to point out that not everthing wrong with Warcraft's lore started with either Metzen not writing anymore about it or the newer writers visions for the stories to be told.

Lei Shen was peak writing for Blizzard IMO. He was a figure who had a lot of impact on the development of the ancient world, and had a hundred stories to tell of how he rose his empire from the rubble, both for better and worse. He sought his people's god, and when he discovered the gods were just sitting back doing nothing, took matters into his own hand and basically said "If the gods won't, then I will! Why shouldn't I?". He was a compelling villain, and his presence could be felt throughout Pandaria, even before he was mentioned by name. The arcitecture, the stories and legends of pandaria, some accounts of his demise are even told differently and vary (Whitepetal Lake was the first account given of his demise, second during his patch was old age), like a true legend's end should diverge.
They took a villain who had no prior mention, and implemented him in a way that was compelling and built the world up further. It's so easy to screw up the introduction of an unknown antagonist, but by either luck or the different writing staff at the time, they made him IMO one of WoW's best villains.

I don't think we can really appreciate just how strong a titan keepers can be in the lore, thanks mostly to WOW's game design that turns them into practical pushovers because it is mandated that such legendary, extremely powerful beings must be defeatable by random bands of mortal schmucks that somehow get arbitrarily more powerful by killing wolves or quilboar or whatever random mobs. Lei Shen while no doubt a capable MORTAL warrior in his own right he should absolutely be no match for a titan keeper, he couldn't do it alone. That's what doesn't make sense to me, Ra'den would have to literal do absolutely nothing to defend himself for Lei Shen to have chained him up and ripping out his heart and even then do you really think the then mortal Lei Shen could even leave strach on the titan keeper's 'skin'? Come to think of it how did Lei Shen even move Ra'den into his chains without help, I'd imagine a two or three story tall titan keeper made of stone would be really, REALLY heavy even for a mogu to lift?

It touched me that you named Lei Shen (presumably the pinyin of 雷神,which literally means "thunder god" in Chinese) the greatest king in WoW lore, since Lei Shen is obviously the WoW analogue of the Chinese First Emperor. There are many obvious parallels, including unifying China after a long period of internal strife (the real historical version is called 战国时代 or the Warring States Period, described more colloquially as 百年炼狱 or "a hundred years of hell"), building a Great Wall against indomitable barbarians, and unifying the language, units of measurement, and currency, as well as purging literates from the other tribes. Like Lei Shen the real life First Emperor was an extremely brutal ruler, and also obsessed with eternal life. Despite these the First Emperor is still renowned as perhaps the most important ruler in Chinese history.

In the Jailer case, they tied him to past events, making him be the origin of, well pretty much everything... HOWEVER, besides that, his motivations, or the logic of his actions have NEVER been explained.
Lei Shen backstory is just way better. We know why he pursued power, why he became the thunder king, what he wanted to accomplish. It was all clear and easy to understand... We don't know why Zoval is evil... He was created by the First Ones just like the Primus, the Archon or the Winter Queen... but they ain't evil... Zoval had a big role in the Shadowlands, he was the arbiter... So why did he rebel against the First Ones? What made him be unhappy with his role? What is exactly that he is trying to accomplish? And how exactly is he trying to do that? We know fucking zero...
At first it seemed they were gonna give the twist that he wasn't the bad guy, going by the fact that he and Sylvanas were always speaking of "undoing the flawed design of the first ones" of how unfair was the setting of the cosmos, of how the world we live in is a prission etc etc etc.. but then we see he just want to make everybody serve him... he just want to rebuild the universe (or something like that) so HE can be the ruler of everything... So he realy became a cartoon villain of the likes of M Bison in the live action movie (Tomorrow... the world!!!)
I have the feeling we gonna end the expansion and we will never know why the fuck did he do all the things he did, nor what he realy wanted to accomplish.

Why send thousands of soldiers to die when characters like Jaina Proudmoore or Meadiv exist who can oneshot whole armies with flicks of their wrists? Ohh man.. ToT 10-man heroic... good old times. Give back please!
I wish they would make Cata & MoP Classic but add all current features like the updated transmog system etc. to the game aswell as all unreleased and cut out content frm Cata/MoP. Probably the best state WoW would be ever at.

MoP had some amazing braids with great atmosphere, ToT in particular.
I still listen to the Moguzheung soundtrack from time to time, takes me right back.

I had most of our people evacuated from Salini during the night.
A few stayed - to maintain the illusion of our presence.
They knew what was being asked om them!

You missed a huge opportunity of adding the Alex Jones pic about the elites not wanting you to know that ducks in the park are free. Other wise, amazing vid 10/10

If Blizzard ever made a Warcraft IV then this story should be one of the campaigns

Thank you for still creating content regularly, while not leaving us fans waiting indefinitely on the next installment of a series.

Thunder King's Story is so awesome specially with the Mogu Civilization. I wished that someday we get to see Mogu became a playable race for how unique they are and have a great backstory.

15:38 Seriously why didn't the August Celestials just team up and beat the crap out of Lei Shen!? They should've been more than enough powerful together to utterly destroy the arrogant Thunder King!

I mean, I feel like Azshara may have been a touch more impactful as a ruler, just sayin’.
