  • Rock joints and gold quartz veins are one way you can discover the origins of local lode or placer gold. See this episode for details on how cracks and joints in rock formations help you distinguish rock formations from ancient rivers as a gold source. Also check out SourdoughMiner.com/20-20/ for ways to tell how water moves gold.

Wish RUclips and this gentleman was around in the 60's, both would have saved me 10 years of learning the hard way.

I lived up where the 49er Gold rush started. I lived in Pike and went to School in Allegheny. When I was 13 I helped 2 guy's who were Dredging at hour-house dam and they found a Gold nugget the size of your thumb. That was fun and I've always wanted a dredge of my own some day.

I really enjoy your videos -- thanks!! I'm a geologist by trade (but work as a hydrographer currently) and your videos are just fantastic. I wish I could've watched certain ones back in undergrad and grad school!!

I like the show just the way it is no music however if you decide it must be...a short attention getter would be the way to go with background dramatic music like as in metal gear solid video game music

Please no music. I am partially deaf. Trying to separate your voice from the music is very difficult. Or if you do music keep it low or put subtitles in. Thank you.

There are standards and etiquette involved in blazin’! You don’t get to be the Chief of Chief overnight...many a tree must be smoked over a long period of time!!

I like music myself, I wouldnt play classical, too much of a narrow listener margin. I would play an intro like two toes has:
    ruclips.net/video/oEsWVT3Ewn0/видео.html
I wouldnt play it longer then 20 seconds, and change music through interludes.

Hi Jess.... concerning adding music to your presentations.... no problemo as long as it doesn't bury your voice in the process... seen that too often where music was so loud that I couldn't hear half of what the person was saying and this is a turn off for me.... just saying.... continue the good work !!

I do not like music---while you are speaking. I want to clearly hear you while your teaching us.
