Thanks for joining me for more guitar restoration videos! This PRS John Mayer Silver Sky “Frost” came in for a ding repair. Surprise! It has a lacquer finish.

Nice job, I Just purchase a new American fender strat and right over where your arm comes over and the cutout goes I put a little dent about the size of a pencil eraser, it put a shallow dent in it and a little hairline crack but did not chip the paint off. Seeing what you just did made me feel better because I have one of the best Luther's. The guitar is a 2023 American Strat performer with the tags on it and I never even played one song on it yet made me sick. Thank you so much for the video and you blew my head at the end when you started playing Robin Trower. I still have Robin trower live on cassette when it came out in 1976. Totally amazing. Thank You for the help and appreciate the peace of mind you gave me also. 🎸

You did an excellent repair. I hate finish repairs because I suck at them. Watching vids like this will hopefully lead me in the right direction.

@@harpethguitar Your videos always help tremendously because they are filled with common sense tips that a person can actually use. I watch and like every video you post that I see. I really liked the neck reset you did on the Gibson Hummingbird artist. I am still scared of the chisel. I take too much off, but I like the sand paper, it just takes a lot longer.

If I remember correctly PRS is spraying Nitro over some kind of acrylic blend now on all their core models. Super glue is a pretty accurate base.
Haha. Thanks! I’m learning all of the guitars made in Maryland have lacquer clear coats and assuming the SE / Indonesian models have catalyzed or UV cured finishes.

You could try to steam the dent in the exposed wood fibers first then repair?
