      It is the TRANSLATOR is the one who chose that word, infection, but it is the LITERAL translation of the word (зараза, zaraza). The correct translation in this context is the one I noted.

    • @beurling-um8qy4hh5n
      @beurling-um8qy4hh5n 8 месяцев назад

      Thank you @alex for your enlightenment. No doubt the translator is an app for having chosen the literal meaning of the word he has pronounced. The translation presented in the video made me think of the epidemic of dictators who are agitating all over the world following Putin's declaration of war against Ukraine and now against the global West. In Iran, North Korea, China, etc. ... These regimes that oppress their people suddenly begin to make their right to oppression clear. The word "infection" struck me as a perfect description of the global situation. This is a matter of personal opinion. For my part, I write my speeches in French in a translation application and I review the result before transmitting it.

    Could any Belarusian or Russian just imagine their leader in constant courtrooms like Trump is in in the U.S.A. right now? Just imagine it? Even a former President in the U.S.A. can be forced into public humiliation by his criminal actions being exposed to the World at a courtroom in the U.S.A. Here an ex-President struggles and fails to beat the law irregardless of how powerful and rich they are. Thats the beauty of having a Democratic country. Whether Trump avoids the punishment or not, he has been publicly HUMILIATED and a laughing stock to most citizens of the United States.
    Whether you hate the U.S.A. or not ... the fact is ... None of their citizens are worried they will go to jail if they publicized their negative views on Trump.

And everybody sits back and watches as it happens. Perhaps this is part of the reason that the US is not regarded as a full democracy.

      Yet I wonder how Trump was elected in the first place. Is it because his only opponent was Hilary Clinton and nobody wanted to vote for her?
      If it is so, how is it "democratic" when people can only vote for the "lesser evil" of the two and can't even lawfully choose ANYBODY else? Is that the famous "people's power" and "US democracy"? They might as well have offered a choice between Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini and nobody would bat an eye

Our democracy is barely 100 years old and is still evolving. When the founding fathers decided to unite the original colonies (of Australia) they looked around the world and tried to copy the best bits. Thankfully all this happened relatively peacefully. Maybe one day Belarus will achieve true democracy (if the people want it). It's difficult but I think worth it.
