I think moving home and letting your children have grandparents and family members to see on a regular basis is never a regret…. Family is everything! Y’all will figure it out …. live life to the fullest no matter where you end up!
When my mom died my family knife me in the back. Now I rarely talked to them. Sometimes family can betray you in the worse ways possible. Also I don't actually mean knife but them saying crap that was not true is where I draw the line. But this is not all families can do in more case then not family can help my case hurts but that's not everyone case.
@@jimmy248 Agree with this sentiment and your story. Family is important, but in this day and age you can Skype people 24/7. I find family is often unwilling to go where you are even if able and with the time/money. Even amongst family and friends, envy is real and sometimes they don't want you living this interesting life while theres is boring.
This brought a tear to my eye. As much as I will miss your sailing adventures, you are absolutely making the right choice. A toddler and a baby on the way and the sailing lifestyle really are not the best match. Also with a land-based home the kids will have a chance for traditional school, friends, sports, etc. You two are still very young and have your whole lives ahead of you. You have done more in the past 10 years than most of us do in our whole life times. .Also its doesn't have to be "all or nothing". You can still be a sailing enthusiast, buy a small sail boat for weekend adventures or holiday trips, etc. It will also get much easier when the kids get a bit older and more independent. Much love and best wishes on the new chapter!
At close to twice your age just remember, forever isn't forever. I have restarted life at least twice, totally changed careers and states after 20 years. And I plan to do it again once my kids leave the nest for good. Life IS change. See you again sailors.
It's a brave decision and you have to live the life that makes you happy not other people. Please continue filming, because I like you as a family and I don't know of any sailors making videos about transition from sailor to landlife. Would be very interesting. Wish you all the Best. ❤
My wife, our puppy and me just moved off our sailboat after two years of prepping her to sail to Baja and beyond. $80,000 and a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears later we just moved into an apartment near family after my wife started chemotherapy. All I can say is that we fell short of our dream but you guys did it, you have the skills, the knowledge, the memories to fall back on. Your dreams will be filled with the beautiful places you traveled, the people you met, the things you experienced. No harm in that! You can always go back to sailing after raising your family! Best2u!
I'm really sorry! Wish your wife all the best and that she get's well again. And yes sooo many, even here, say as soon as we retire we will do just that! Never having a thought when younger that all can go wrong with that. Society slows young people in their enthusiasm to explore the world or living their dreams for whatever. Get married have kids, family is everything, but in the end everybody is alone just living with their memories and what could have been!
Prayers to you and your wife! Keep your spirits up and don think you have failed or fell short of your dreams. This may just be another obstacle to overcome and in future hopefully you can get back to sailing!
We don't watch the channel because you're sailing. We watch because you're good people. First off do what's best for your family and then if you can make content about it we'll still watch. Best of luck to you guys and your growing family.
@@TopShelfMontana I wish them all well but I don't watch transitions to land or boat builds/repairs. I watch for the sailing only. I enjoyed the early times with the struggles but upgrading the boat was the beginning of the end. You paid too much for a bad boat thinking you had it aced. Should have, could have, bought a newer and more comfortable boat for that money and done more sailing. I'll miss them but I won't be watching.
@@TopShelfMontanaAgreed. Tons of people vlog on land. I don't watch any of them. I'm not mad at them though, they are doing the right thing for their kids. All good things come to an end.
As a 74 year old male with COPD, I have travelled the world employed as a US Merchant Marine captain with IOMMP (International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots). My wife and I raised 2 boys now ages 51 and 41, both living on the farm I purchased in Maine some 45 years ago. It's not surprising, that when I retired from sea, I found out just how much was missing from our lives. This decision to move off Atticus and establish residence ashore will be the biggest move of your lives, yet knowing Jordon's detailed lifestyle onboard, we are sure you'll be pleasantly surprised at the outcome in your future. Thank you for sharing this epic life change and bless your family's future.
Please watch the motivational doc on RUclips…there are many ways to help with COPD…the lungs etc. He is an inspiration for helping in these situations! God bless and I pray you will find relief on your healing path. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I watched your vids for 3 years, then we bought our boat. We were so excited when we saw you in the Med. We were in the same marinas an anchorages several times in Greece, in Porto Heli and Symi (Pedi). You looked living so much in harmony that we didn’t want to disturb such a nice family. Thank you so much for the beautiful moments you shared. You are a wonderful family and we understand fully your decision. Nevertheless, you are part of why we live on a boat now. THANK YOU!
I watch the Wynns, La Vaga, Uma and Zatara. But you guys really really captured my heart. I tear up a little every week. Your sincerity, your real life story telling is just my absolute favorite. I will miss your sailing so much. But I absolutely believe we must do what is best for our families and put our priorities in the right order for us. Thank you so much for all the beautiful videos and experiences.
Last Christmas, at a party where I knew no one, I got to talking with a young man who also was a fan of your channel. We both felt that this was where you were headed. As a former cruiser who gets her sailing fix from RUclips, I've followed you from the beginning and enjoyed the sail. Know that if you're thinking of continuing filming - there will be people who will continue watching. Sailing Good, bad and ugly moved ashore and I, for one, like their land clearing adventures more than their sailing. I think it will be interesting to watch your transition. Please don't just stop abruptly. Thanks for the ride.
I have seen this coming since the first one was born. The feel changed. Thank you for giving my family and I something to get together and watch every week together. Best of luck to you all. Thank You!!! 🎉
Hard disagree. Let your kids grow up off camera and have normal lives. Forcing your kids to be on RUclips is basically exploiting them and robbing them of any choice to be anonymous.
@@HeadCannonPrime For sure, it's one thing if it's paying your bills, another to subject your children to that unnecessarily and before they can give their permission
I recently heard a Hindu chaplain say "The secret to life isn't enjoyment, it's education through experience". Your lives, your stories, your experiences embody this. I cannot imagine how difficult of a decision this was. But I think y'all have already accomplished what some of us dream of achieving across many lifetimes. Sending tons of love!
This humble observer thinks y’all have made the right choice. Remember that you’re not quitting something, merely starting something else. We sure will miss this splendid keyhole into the lives of a couple truly beautiful people, and we thank you for affording us earth-bound folks a way to live out our seaward dreams. Whatever you do next will be just as amazing for you have been forged in the most beautiful of struggles. Cheers.
I hope you guys keep us updated on your new journey. I've been watching for years now and I'd want to keep updated on what's going on. It's almost like watching a series on tv.
My wife and I are in our 60's and have learned that life has many different seasons to it. As we have transitioned from one season to the next, our goals and priorities have changed with each one. This is absolutely normal. You are just in a different season of life, and I commend you for recognizing that fact and listening to your gut. You have not only lived your dream, but you have taken thousands of us along for the ride with you. While most wish they had taken more risks and followed their hearts, the two of you have actually DONE it. Nothing but respect and kudos for what you've accomplished. It would not surprise me at all if someday, after your kids have launched out on their own and it's just the two of you again, that a dream for Atticus 3 will be hatched. Imagine re-tracing some of your earlier voyages 30 years later! I do hope whatever you decide to do, that you will continue your channel so we can all come along. You are great story tellers!
“Quitting” is not an end, it’s the start of a new beginning. Selfishly (as a long time Patron) I am sad, but I also recognize (as an older parent with adult children now) that everything you have experienced and are feeling is no different than any other parent, on a boat or in a house or in a tent. Best of everything buds. Thank you for being a part of my life to this point, it will be interesting to see what comes next.
I am 100% supportive of your decision even though my wife and I have loved watching your sailing videos. We both hope you will continue making videos, even if less than weekly, so that we can keep up with your lives and see how your new adventure unfolds.
You made the right decision. There are many life adventures ahead. Just wait till you see your children go to sailing school and sail their OWN boat! A love of sailing will never leave you.
I bought my Shannon 43 from when you were boat shopping. It’s been amazing watching your journey. Making adult life decisions is tough. But, when you do it in service to others you love the rewards become even greater. Bless you and your family.
Buy a house.... by the water... Sail on weekends and race Wednesday nights. Get drunk with friends occasionally. Watch the kids grow up. Works ok for me.
I was thinking exactly the same. Sail the boat back home which you can use while you looking for home on land then use the best of both worlds. Either way i wish you the very best of luck 🤞👌👍👏❤
Please don’t give up on all of us who love you guys! I’m sure I speak for all of us here.. we want to follow you and support you in your new adventure, and I know you will have a boat again and your home that will be amazing when you find it! ♥️🙏🏻♥️
After watching your channel for about a year, I bought a Seawind2. Thanks for being a great influence. I never would have done it without you. I’ve had it 4 years and still enjoy it just about every weekend. Its been a great learning adventure. Im sure you have influenced many people in a good way.
The wonderful thing is you can always go back to sailing later on in life after the kids have grown. I say you’ve made the right and safe decision. Good on you. As a mother and a grandmother, I couldn’t think of a scarier situation than having young babes onboard a boat of any description full time. Maybe when they’re teenagers but right now Desiree is absolutely right! Edit… oh and I also follow many rv travellers living full time on the road and I would not stop watching your videos just because you now travel the land ! In fact I’m very much looking forward to that tbh! You need to do what is the right thing for you and your families.
Watched your channel from the begining and you are truly part of the 1%ers. Life is a journey and in the end you have only your passion with purpose to guide you. Based upon your life experiences you are well equipped to succeed no matter what you decide. May it be done in calm seas!
Awe, this is sad. You guys poured your hearts and souls into Atticus II. I wish there was a way to live close to the water, use all of the skills you've developed to make a living, and keep Atticus on the water. Whatever the decision, you guys are a power couple and will make the best of it.
I just realise that i watch this show because i like you guys, not just about sailing. So all the best for your new adventure. I will still follow and watch the show. May God's grace follow you where ever you go.
Dear both, we (me and my husband and lately our little one) have been watching your journey around the world from the very start. It has been a pleasure! We are the same age as you, I've always admired your lifestyle but more than that just your spirit. I have been in a big life change / transition as well, it has been hard but at the same time the right thing to do. Thank you both! Would love to follow your new advantures at home. Good luck and greetings from Slovenia, Europe! ❤
Sailing Project Atticus was the first sailing video I ever clicked on 4 years ago. I’ve watched every episode y’all created. Thanks for the ride. Also, I can imagine your families are happy about your decision.
I just want to say thanks for taking us along with you for so long. I’ve spent my breaks at work watching you two/three adventure for the last 4 years. What a trip! As a father of 3 girls, and a lover of adventure, nothing beats being home with my family. You’ll never regret choosing more stability for your family. Good luck! Love you guys!
Our family lived some wonderful adventures outside the US. We thought we wanted to do it forever. We knew that it was time to go home when it was right for us. For some forever is right, but not us. It was really hard to adjust to a new “normal” and we definitely missed our peaceful lifestyle but our children needed to go to college, meet their spouses, spend time with grandparents, etc… it was right. Now we are grandparents and realize that our greatest adventures are still happening. Embrace every season.
Super happy for you making this decision! That’s life and no one says you will never sail again! 💛but what an adventure 💛 happy for you! I’m also a new follower so there’s that!
Life is a book, each chapter builds upon itself and hopefully the book your living turns out the way you intended it to be “read.” Some chapters are short ( a horrible job you tolerated just to get enough experience and move on) and some chapters are longer ( 12 years of sailing for example). Keep writing your book, make edits, rewrite chapters if you need to, grow, learn, share, and experience everything you can. Best of luck with your new adventures. One of my favorite RUclips channels for sure.
You'll never lose your identity as sailors and adventurers. Whether or not you ever return to the sea you've been changed for the better and the adventures you've had have shaped you. Best of luck!
Watching this journey/chapter of both of you + the 2 little ones lives has been nothing short of special. We watch bc you are amazing people, not because you live an amazing life style. Good luck on this next chapter. Truly this family is special
With little kids, I think the ideal would be to have a house on land but also have a comfortable daysailor like an Alerion where you don't need to worry about capsizing (or even a Herreshoff 12 1/2) and four or five people can go out for a sail and sit comfortably in the cockpit and go out sailing for a few hours at a time on nice days and do day sailing instead of full time cruising. It is a great way to introduce kids to sailing. That is how my parents introduced my sisters and I to sailing. We all later took sailing lessons during the summer and all learned how to sail as kids.
i've felt this coming for a long time and glad it lasted as long as it did. thank you for the saturday morning adventures! raising a family is a great adventure too
Jordan and Desiree, for the past ten years, the two of you have brought us such joy and happiness with your adventures. Not just the sailing but your wonderful ability to meet new people and learn their cultures. The friends that you made in Washington,NC, and the oriental rugs makers, olive oil producers, etc and many others have all enriched us . Transitioning into a new career may not be a difficult as it seems. Your sailing and cruising experiences would make it easy to become a yachting consultant or salesman for boats. Thanks to you and your family for touching our hearts on so many Saturday mornings. Hugs, Dr. Tod Holman
All I can say is, I love you guys! I've been with you since you first sanded down Atticus I, and you've become like family to me. That said, since you ARE like family and I know how you guys thoroughly think things through, I'm excited for the FIVE of you. Selfishly, I'm a bit sad, but also very happy for you. Like you, at the 26 minute point, I found tears in my eyes, but good tears. I am excited for you guys, and your adventures are nowhere near finished. ...and if it works for you, I hope you'll continue to bring us along on those adventures. Peace and love to you all!
I've been with you guys since the beginning. When Jordan was working on the boat with his Dad and there were long stretches between posts. I remember the first 'real' trip to that fort in florida. Thank you for all the memories you've created over the years!
Life is about stages and seasons. When a season finishes, doubt and uncertainty is part of the “in-between” stage of the finish and the new thing. You guys think many see your videos because of the sailing, but the truth is that we love your channel because you guys are sharing life. You guys are great story tellers. So, look forward with excitement and may God bless your new journey 🙏🏼.
We came back from NZ to WA after 5 years to be close to family. Within a year it all wore off and people from home including family got back to their lives. They loved having us near but never hung out. Maybe twice a year. We eventually ended up moving to Texas. Moral of the story and I’ve heard this one happen numerous times, do what’s right for you and not anyone else. You can’t count on anyone else.
I’m sorry for you all. I don’t think that you both are feeling the same way. There was a lot of I, I, I in this video from certain perspectives. I hope you both can keep it all together despite this decision, I don’t hear any goals other than what I don’t want any more. You both might do well to get some counseling as you try to find yourselves and assume a land bound domesticated existence.
In ten years when the kids are in school you can maybe get yourself another little sailboat and head off over that horizon again... life is long, friends. Wish you nothing but the best.
Yeah it is one of those things to think about when they get older, taking the kids and home school them for a year and travel, giving them something no classroom can.
When my wife and I were in our 20's, we were adventurers like you guys and ended up moving to the Marshall Islands for 8 years after traveling through Central America. When we had our second child we decided to move back to the states so we could be by family and so our girls would be able to take advantage of better medical system and education opportunities. Fast forward 30 years...our girls graduated from college and are living their own adult lives. My wife and I both retired at 59 and are continuing our life adventure. We have a house on the "hard" and bought a 45 ft. boat we travel in. Its OK to pause your adventure to ensure the health and happiness of your family. That is the priority! Thank you for allowing me to follow your life adventure for the 5 years.
This is exactly it. Different stages of life require different priorities. My girls are on the verge of moving out of the nest and we are preparing for the next stage.
Same here. Having and raising kids so they can have the opportunity to decide what kind of life they want means you are going to make some compromises during that phase of your life so they can get the best start possible. It's a huge responsibility and it's hugely rewarding. But once they are off on their own, you get the chance to reset and once again embark on new adventures. Spouse and I now have our retirement boat and are planning that next phase of our lives.
Ooooomg 😭 you are putting the kids 1st - that just says everything about you two❤ it has been an honour & privilege to watch your lives unfold & live the off-grid sailing life with you in as real a way as possible...you've never cared about what anyone else was doing - and now is absolutely not the time to start!!... Enjoy the early years with family. Till you sail again xx
As grandparents, we totally understand your decision. We are also going home, to be with our families and our grandchildren. You don't owe anyone anything. Life changes. People change. Needs change. This is just a chapter. The next one will be its own adventure. And if the sea calls you again in the future, you can always begin a new chapter that involves sailing again. Good luck!
My husband and I started watching your RUclips channel a few year’s ago. I respect the fact that you guys want to focus on family. You have brought your viewer’s such joy but I complete understand the stress of having no family to help when you are away from home. We do hope that you continue to film and will remain big fans of you guys with whatever your endeavors you take on.
Thank you for taking us with you on your journey. Thank you for being so open with us. Thank you for all the joy, you brought to our lives. I wish you all the best! Heartily greetings from good ol' Vienna Stefan
I am 40 years working in the boating industry, mostly sailing, teaching and skippering , and delivering boats all over the world. My hat goes off to you guys for doing what you’re doing in such a small boat. I mean even big boats become small after a while at sea. Living on a boat is not for everyone, through my youth , from 21 up to my 40s I had 3 daughters and I was away a lot, but you can have both. Have the time for both.
Of all the times that it is wonderful to have a stable Home life with community surrounding you in exchange for adventure, it's when you have a young family. You have so much time to get back to travel and adventure when/if you choose but I think you are making a great choice.
You two are not quitting, you are moving into another adventure in life. As for importance, Desiree, there is nothing more important in the entire world than raising your children and nurturing them to become loving and caring individuals like their parents. God has truly blessed you two and has enriched your lives in so many ways. I think you know that and sense His work in your lives. Trust Him to meet all of your needs. He never fails! Blessings!
I’ve enjoyed your adventure for several years now. I’m sorry that this chapter of your lives is coming to an end. You have one of the most humble and honest shows on the RUclips sailing genre. May GOD continue to watch over and guide your beautiful family. It’s not goodbye but so long for now.
I am so happy with your decision to return home 🏡 and be with family. It is great to have your children grow up around their loving grandparents and other family members ❤️ 💙 ♥️ 💕 💜 😊.
Life is a journey. Don't think of this as an end but the beginning of something new. Embrace life as you did when you bought Atticus I. You will find your new Atticus and she will be even better. You are great sailors and always will be. Living on land doesn't mean you can't sail. You and a few other channels inspired me to pursue my dream of wanting to learn to sail and I bought a fixer upper a few years ago and I go to the coast and dump money and time into her. She will never take me to remote destinations like Atticus, but she is part of my journey and teaching me to sail. Keep learning and teaching others. We all love your content. Best of luck and we all look forward to see what your future holds.
I have LOVED watching you both grow into the mature sailing couple that you have become. You are a beautiful family. Your videos are so amazing. The research you have done for each of your videos have been very educational. You have so much talent. I'm am so excited for your next journey on land.
You've made the right decision because you made it. Family is something we all treasure and need. You will figure something out as you are a great cinematographer and I love listening to how you tell your story...whatever that may be. Very excited to see where your journey takes you. And....once a sailer, always a sailor. You'll have more sailing adventures I'm sure.
I've enjoyed watch you sail. and all that came with it. Thank you both for bringing us along on your journey. Life has seasons. You'll never regret the choice to go home & allow your children to be raised with their family. I'm forever grateful that my kiddos had their grandparents & cousins to grow up with. Cheers to you both on life's new journey.
I sure will miss you guys. I've been watching since the early days, and I've loved all the adventures right along with you. I'm sad its over, but I wish you all the very best that life has to offer.
I sailed in the Royal Canadian Navy for 10 years from 1981-1991. Having crossed the Pacific 6 times, and the Atlantic twice. I left and moved to my final port in Portland Oregon in 1991. I’ve been here 33 years and managed to build a family and life with a beautiful wife and 2 daughters. Do I miss those years at sea? Absolutely! Even though I went through 3 wars during that time, I miss my shipmates and all the ports I visited! I get what you are going through at this point!!! Best of luck and Bravo Zulu! (Sailor speak for well done!)
@@madWalker911of course he’s going to miss it and she might to but relationships are all about sacrifice. It takes a village to raise a family and they need to move back to their village.
I started watching you guys in early 2020 when like the rest of the world I was stuck at home. I binged absolutely everything up until that point and from that moment on didn't miss a video. I think all that you discussed in this video is completely valid, and as a viewer it's of course a little sad, but not entirely unexpected. You guys have always been very open about everything to your audience. Hearing Jordan explain how he had to figure out how to repair an engine, Desiree how to sail, seeing the struggles, anxieties but also joys you guys experienced really inspired me and I think many people. You are two of the most genuine (family) vloggers out there, sharing so much with us without it being exploitative (particularly regarding Isabella) and I'm very curious to see the next chapter has in store for you. Good luck!
I’ve been watching you live your dreams for years, and so glad I got to see a glimpse of your adventures. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you ❤️
Dear Desiree and Jordan I wanted to thank you for everything you showed us. I first saw your channel when you were buying Atticus II. You inspired me to follow in your footsteps. I was interested in taking up sailing for a long time and I finally got a license for inland sailing a year ago. (Which is a must in my country if you want to sail something bigger than 7 meters.) I never really believed my dreams of sailing the world as a liveaboard are even real, but then you showed me, that although hard, it's a lifestyle that I am ready to take with all its ups and downs one day. Next year I'll try to join a cruise on a tallship for sea training and next I'll be taking an exam for a license required for sailing on the seas. I hope to own a boat someday too. Next year I'll try to join a cruise on a tallship for sea training and next I'll be taking an exam for a license required for sailing on the seas. I feel like you played a huge part in pushing me to pursue my dreams and for that I am thankful. You are my heroes in a sense. Again, thank you. Godspeed in your new landlubber life.
@@kimberlyonseastar I think I just might. Some people say I'm good at storytelling and teaching. I'll start setting it up, as I already have some things worth telling.
@@ArthurChristopherRose you set a goal to realise what life is all about, which millions could never imagine! I follow a young finn in his sailing boat in the arctic waters, in the cold and he feels like a fish in the water! His philosophy on life is awe inspiring.
Only you two know what's best for your family. The first year of two kiddos is quite hard but with family around it will significantly make your life more enjoyable. From the Salish sea where the king salmon & orca whales roam, we send blessings and thanks for all the joy you have provided all your listeners. All the best to you three and the little one on the way.
I’ve been watching since key west. You guys bring me so much joy & have gotten me through the rough patches. After Isabella was announced I knew it wouldn’t be long before you guys changed passions. I’m a father of 3 daughters & I knew it was only a matter of time. Please just keep creating content. Sailing or not we all just love seeing your family adventure wherever!
First, thank you for sharing your amazing journey with us. I’ve been watching you for years and loved every minute. You aren’t quitting, you are just taking on a new adventure. Changing is the brave thing to do and takes the same kind of courage that setting out to sail the world took in the first place. Bravo! Best of luck to you in your new dreams, goals and adventures on land. ❤
Thanks for a wonderful ride you have provided us. Life does change. Dreams are fulfilled. You and this lifestyle will be missed but smart to recognize the need to move on. Good luck!
I sure do admire the many younger couples trying do the sailing thing and see the world early in their life vs the very stereotypical, after family is raised, 30 year career is done, nest egg built, then does the boating journey. You undertook a ten year journey that many envy and will never experience. Jordan definitely took a novel writing class somewhere as his vlog vocabulary and story telling are most enjoyable. You have all those boating skills should you return to the Sea. We all wanna see Isabella meet her new sibling too. Your life is gonna be busy. Enjoy the next chapter. I’m sure boating of some form will be in your lives. Cheers from a boomer in SoCal. 🤓🥳🤘
You will be missed, can't believe this will be my last feed. Look after yourself, drop a video of the new home adventure. Your videos always helped ease my anxiety, much love to you all 🇿🇦
Thank you for taking us along for the ride for all these years. Wishing you the best life and happiness. God bless and thank you. Warm greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
I've been following you since you were in Washington, NC. I've seen this decision coming for many months now and totally understand. However, don't disappear on your fans. The travels have been great, but we have come to love the two (three and soon four) of you. What ever you decide to do, keep the videos of your new adventures coming.
You've both been inspirational sharing your life with the world. Thank you for the honesty, the dream, and your integrity. Very refreshing in today's world.... It is very different now than what it was. By sea or by land, buckle up!
"Knowing when to fold them" is an underappreciated skill! Regrettably, few ever are commended for doing so! You both were mentioned in Sailing Uma's video I saw today as Kiki and Dan discussed planning ahead. It seems they both plan very short term (a few days) only. Whereas Jordan and Des probably plan a few weeks ahead. Is that scope of outlook part of why it is better for you to switch to land based life? I have no doubt that the predictability of "conventional" life would match better with Desiree's mental model. Maybe that would be the best thing for a decade or two? (You are permitted to change your minds at any time!)
Grief... is a measure of how much you loved something that has gone... thank you guys for years of love and the record will show how many you have inspired and I cherish the memories! Keep on keeping on! ~__/)__*
I'm not crying, you are! I have watched you guys for years on and off and you always seemed to be genuine people. You will be successful in whatever your next big adventure is.
We discovered your sailing channel about a year ago and find it really inspiring how you live and how openly you talk about things. We have been living on a boat ourselves for over 2 years and can't imagine it any other way at the moment. Nevertheless, we understand your decision 100% and wish you all the best for the future. We will definitely watch your older videos. And we would be delighted if you took us along in life after the boat. Because it's also exciting to see how you feel about coming back to land after so many years at sea. Thank you to you, your videos and Isabella, who always made us smile!
I honestly think you guys are making a mistake. Leaving a peaceful wonderful life to come to crash with the average American life it’s a crazy idea to me. I would never leave it. If I knew how to sail I would be far far away from this country which right now has very little to offer but insecurity and political depression. I believe that you guys will regret it and that even if you have a kid it’s the wrong decision at this time. I would wait for a better time for America. I think you guys have Mamitis and Papitis and feel the need to provide a nest to your kid. Personally I think she is the one driving you to take this decision but truly inside sailing is what you love and you will regret leaving it. The day by day living here in the states will destroy your relationship. Don’t fall for her fears this is only a stage. The kid will grow and will leave you guys sooner than you think and your live will never be the same ashore. Think about again before you commit to what most people hate as a life style.( living in US).
sounds like you hate America and should just move somewhere else making my woman happy is what makes me happy, everything else is secondary that you think her wants and needs are somehow keeping him from living his best life, that’s where your negativity towards relationships being doomed comes from, not from any location a couple may decide to live
Wow, I really feel sorry for you. I can't imagine being this miserable. Please don't paint everyone in the same lens just because your so unhappy with life.
yes, there is one video of them with the headline: I'm scared, she holding her child with the boat tilting to one side. That was a few months ago. That was the turning point I think!
Jordan does not seem to be fully on board with this? just a vibe from his body language and the way he is in this video compared to others, almost seems a bit crushed. I can see him going back to the big open blue in the future when little ones grown some and there's less family to keep him land bound.
I've been following you guys for as long as I can remember (maybe the beginning) and it just dawned on me that all this time, I was living vicariously through you guys...without knowing that you were recently living vicariously through my (landlubbers) lifestyle. The truth is, the grass is green on both sides of the fence and there's plenty of adventure to be had without a sailboat. Power boats are a blast too and you can replace the cabin below deck for a tent you can throw in your SUV with the boat in tow...exploring the wonderful places off the beaten path here in the States and experiencing the BIGGEST adventure of all...watching your children grow up and teaching them how to be good, responsible humans. You keep making the videos and I'll keep watching!
Regardless of your decision, I want to thank both of you for taking us along on yout adventure. It has been wonderful to watch you navigate this challenging lifestyle❤.
Don't sell the boat yet go glamping. Take a break The postpartum depression will subside. And then You'll wish you had and you sold your boat You'll wish you hadn't you sold your boat?
Clearly Jordan seems to be crushed by his wife's decision. His dreams of sailing the world are out. Time to flick open that mental health app you reguarly advertise for.
I think moving home and letting your children have grandparents and family members to see on a regular basis is never a regret…. Family is everything! Y’all will figure it out …. live life to the fullest no matter where you end up!
Well said, PLUS you will have another chance in your journey to get back on the water.
@@jimmy248family isn’t always whom we are born to… choose JOY and don’t look back
@@paulolson4600 I'll second that. Family is important.
Pfft, these kids have the chance of a life that so few of us could ever dream of
At close to twice your age just remember, forever isn't forever. I have restarted life at least twice, totally changed careers and states after 20 years. And I plan to do it again once my kids leave the nest for good. Life IS change. See you again sailors.
Move to a coastal town and become seasonal sailors. We're a pretty great community too!
Sounds amazing! Where are you located? I think that's the best option as we are considering buying a Catamaran as empty nesters.
Best2u!
Out of countries have better healthcare than America. We all know this.
Blessings on your wife having perfect Health.
I'm really sorry! Wish your wife all the best and that she get's well again.
And yes sooo many, even here, say as soon as we retire we will do just that! Never having a thought when younger that all can go wrong with that. Society slows young people in their
enthusiasm to explore the world or living their dreams for whatever. Get married have kids, family is everything, but in the end everybody is alone just living with their memories and what could have been!
Sorry to hear your wife's health....keep away from anything... 💉

Life has different stages. Go with the flow. You've made exceptional videos! All the best!
Ditto!
I just want to say, thank you!
I immediately thought of Sailing GBU too!
Exactly! We are a fan of GBU too and look forward to following this family on their new adventure.
Gbu is still on a adventure not .
Not to much content in getting a job and raising kids.
I have seen this coming since the first one was born. The feel changed. Thank you for giving my family and I something to get together and watch every week together. Best of luck to you all. Thank You!!! 🎉
Same for me. A lot of the excitement disappeared from them. I don’t blame them their lives changed.
Agreed.
Just don't stop filming your new adventures. Sailing or not, a lot of us will still watch and support. Long live the struggle!
Amen!!
Hard disagree. Let your kids grow up off camera and have normal lives. Forcing your kids to be on RUclips is basically exploiting them and robbing them of any choice to be anonymous.
Exactly
@@HeadCannonPrimethe children don’t have to be the center of attention. Actually I don’t think she is the center of the filming now.
This was my thought too... To some extent, you can have both.
Sounds like a dream life to me 🎉
I was thinking exactly the same.
Sail the boat back home which you can use while you looking for home on land then use the best of both worlds.
Either way i wish you the very best of luck 🤞👌👍👏❤
That's exactly what I have been doing. The boat is almost ready
To skip the pond and the kids are grown.
Yes. Great advice❤
Last I checked boat repair and re-fitting costs an arm and a leg. They could totally start a business doing that kind of thing and be very successful.
I just realise that i watch this show because i like you guys, not just about sailing. So all the best for your new adventure. I will still follow and watch the show. May God's grace follow you where ever you go.
Congrats guys. Enjoy some down time and live the family life. You so deserve the flat lander life for awhile!
Wow, end of an era. I never thought I would see this day. Hope you guys still make videos of your new life.
That outtro is a masterpiece. In the words of the great Jimmy Buffett, "I'm sorry it's ending, oh it's sad, but it's true. It's been a lovely cruise."
Yeah. 30:08 - the woman is finally rushing away from that damn boat with a stroller and a baby.
Hugs, Dr. Tod Holman
Jordan, you are a gifted orator and teacher --use those gifts !
Well said! 👍
Your two of my favorite people on youtube..honest, accomplished, brave, and always entertaining. PLEASE DON'T STOP FILMING!!
Have no regrets. Chase your happiness. Doing what's best for the kids, is never a bad direction to take. Find a way to keep a RUclips channel going.
I can only say.. I'm sorry Jordan.
That was my thought exactly. Life changes and priorities change but it is never too late to restart the adventure once the kiddos are grown!
Living your best life can take many forms. Enjoy your new journey! 💗💗💗
This happens with family, pretty natural. You two will likely return to sailing in retirement...

Thank you for sharing the trip. It was a lovely ride.
What’s important is that your both aligned on your decision
I sailed in the Royal Canadian Navy for 10 years from 1981-1991. Having crossed the Pacific 6 times, and the Atlantic twice. I left and moved to my final port in Portland Oregon in 1991. I’ve been here 33 years and managed to build a family and life with a beautiful wife and 2 daughters. Do I miss those years at sea? Absolutely! Even though I went through 3 wars during that time, I miss my shipmates and all the ports I visited! I get what you are going through at this point!!! Best of luck and Bravo Zulu!
Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you ❤️
Dear Desiree and Jordan
I wanted to thank you for everything you showed us.

I feel like you played a huge part in pushing me to pursue my dreams and for that I am thankful. You are my heroes in a sense.
Again, thank you. Godspeed in your new landlubber life.
Your life sounds wonderful too! Will you have a channel? I’d watch it.
@@kimberlyonseastar I think I just might. Some people say I'm good at storytelling and teaching.
I'll start setting it up, as I already have some things worth telling.
@@ArthurChristopherRose you set a goal to realise what life is all about, which millions could never imagine! I follow a young finn in his sailing boat in the arctic waters, in the
cold and he feels like a fish in the water!
Thank you for openly sharing your thoughts. Many best wishes for the next chapter of your life journey!
Get in to homesteading. Buy several acres. Garden, can. Raise chickens. Great content!!
I had an image of a boy & girl playing in the dingy and exploring shores. Guess that will change.
You've both been inspirational sharing your life with the world. Thank you for the honesty, the dream, and your integrity. Very refreshing in today's world.... It is very different now than what it was. By sea or by land, buckle up!
Wow. Totally understand. Nothing but love for you.
All love
We'll miss your adventura. But thanks so much for sharing your adventure with us.
Think about again before you commit to what most people hate as a life style.( living in US).
sounds like you hate America and should just move somewhere else
making my woman happy is what makes me happy, everything else is secondary
that you think her wants and needs are somehow keeping him from living his best life, that’s where your negativity towards relationships being doomed comes from, not from any location a couple may decide to live
Wow, I really feel sorry for you. I can't imagine being this miserable. Please don't paint everyone in the same lens just because your so unhappy with life.
When your woman says it's done, it's done
yes, there is one video of them with the headline: I'm scared, she holding her child with
the boat tilting to one side.
