    Fleetwood Mac is one of those bands that is amazing in the studio and 10 times more amazing live. You should watch the live video of this from the L.A. Forum in 1982. Stevie and Lindsey stare daggers at each other throughout the whole song. Then compare the 1997 live video from The Dance concert and you'll see the emotion has only mellowed about a tenth of a point in 20 years' time.

    I think Lindsey's picking style is what sets him apart and makes him underrated. He tended to use a banjo style picking and only use his fingers and no picks. The Chain and Big Love(his live version- not the studio version) are phenomenal examples of his guitar playing.

    I agree with Gail Johnson's comment down below. "Hypnotized" was released before Buckingham and Nicks joined the band. Guitarist Bob Welch is the creator for that one. He was fascinated by paranormal stuff. He even did a song called "Bermuda Triangle" on his last album with the Mac. Anyway, "Hypnotized" is a hidden classic. Buckingham even performed this live with the Mac shortly after joining.

    You will love "The Chain", which is basically just Lindsey and Stevie being "I hate you!" "No, I hate you more!" while John McVie plays The MOTHER-EFFING Bass Solo of All Time. (No, really.)
    At the other end of the spectrum is Christine McVie's "You Make Loving Fun", which is a bit odd, since she and John were splitting up as well.
    And then there's "Don''t Stop" which, 15 years later, became the theme song for the Democratic party. Yeah, Bill Clinton pushed a song from a band which was like non-stop adultery. Big shock, huh?
    Also, the title song from their next, more-complicated album, "Tusk".

    • @rickpopham5400
      @rickpopham5400 3 года назад +4

      "You Make Loving Fun" was Christine's song about Curry Grant, the group's lighting designer with whom she was having an affair -- so not too far off the spectrum 8-) The more I hear about the story behind this album, the more unbelievable it seems that it was ever finished.

    i always found the lyric, "if i could, baby i'd give you my world" extra zingy, as the famous story goes that when lindsey was asked to join FM, they only wanted him but he insisted they'd have to take stevie too. lindsey actually did give stevie his world, their new world. and by the way, stevie insisted lindsey be fired when they last went on tour and they did fire him, so things are NOT all good between them.

However, you can hear her harmonizing vocals in the background because I'm sure she knew this was an amazing song even if it was about her. lol Oh, do The Chain! You will be blown away. Talk about the baseline. John McVee starts a baseline at a certain point of the song and sticks with it until the end. Just gives it that extra emotion.

    ya listen to song big love by Lindsey if you want see him rip it on guitar the man is amazing I know hard to find vh1 version when they did on there whole concert was amazing but there are other live versions I've seen just as good on tube but a lot vh1 ones got blocked when people did reactions vh1 concert songs. Fleetwood Mac got so many great songs rumors and the dance albums are amazing were they put out the dance right after then they did vh1 concert and went on big tour playing all there greatest hits I seen them live in concert was the best then listening to it all they were on top there games and played everything to perfection. And Stevie nicks had amazing solo career as well
