There is an even easier way to connect this Sonoff WiFi relay directly to the opener instead of messing with the remote !
Just connect the 2 wires from the WiFi relay directly to the back of the Garage door opener (instead of remote) exactly in the same pins where the 2 wires from the wired opener wall panel go in. All you need is to trigger the opening/closing signal given to the opener unit which happens when the 2 pins are shorted (which is what the wired panel on the wall does)!
This way you get to keep all your remotes in the cars working same like before and you hard wire the WiFi relay to the garage door opener ;-)

Have you done this with a newer garage door opener? A MyQ equipped opener? Chamberlain supposedly built in some security thing to try and prevent workarounds.

Well it worked for an hour. Then My sconces would also come on when the garage door would open...and go off when the door closed. So not able to use.

Is it just me or is anyone else uncomfortable giving a Chinese company like Ewelink their wifi password? Is there a way to connect this without doing that? I also don't like that they require GPS location to add a device. I can get around that with Fake GPS app, but I'm sure how to avoid giving them my home wifi password. If you have ideas, please help.
