Sound advice for those starting out. A Tip- of-the-Hat to you! I watched the video about gouges form the link you gave me. Just one more question. What is a thumbnail gouge? I never heard the term before. Thanks for your help...much appreciated! Take care!

Hi Michael, glad you enjoyed the video. A fingernail gouge is how we describe the curve on the cutting edge. It's a way to describe a wood carving gouge that has a shape similar to that of a fingernail. We mainly use gouges that are number 3 up to number 6. They have a curved shape but are a more steady curve as opposed to being a very tight curve. If I remember in the livestream on Monday I can focus on it again in more detail for you.
Thanks again for your support. All the very best from us all. 👍👍

I looked for anything at all I could complain about. Sadly I failed in that. Excellent work!

In my 40 plus years of scrolling I’ve never been able to get the coin to stand on its edge I have 2 Hegner Saws Polymax 3 and a Multimax 14
My Polymax 3 is really smooth just not smooth enough for the coin edge trick but my Multimax has always had way more vibrations than I like do you have any ideas all would be welcome it’s secured down it has always had that problem both saws are from the 80’s when I was scroll sawing a lot
Great video lots of great advice as always thanks for all the work you put into your videos

Thanks Jerry, we always appreciate your feedback and support. We're lucky that a 20p has a nice flat edge on it. Dad's scroll saw has far less vibration than mine. Better for filming the coin. 😂🤣
Hope all is well with you, thanks as always for your support. All the very best from us all. 👍👍
