Hegner scroll saw stops working, is this why?

Hegner scrol saws are fantastic machines to work with and ours play a vital role in the work we do with the Welsh love spoon. In the past 20 years we have only needed to buy 2 Hegenr scroll saws and both continue to do a fantastic job, getting through hundreds of hours of work each year. However both have stopped working at a certain point in time and on both occasions the reason was the same. If your Hegner scroll saw stops working could this be the issue. Please note that this is in no way a criticism of the Hegner scroll saw, we would recommend them to anyone who is interested in wood work and wood carving. Both of our scroll saws are Hegenr Multi Cut 2S

Hello.
My scroll saw has been having trouble starting for the past week. If I then push the arm, the machine starts. Could this also be the capacitor?

Hi Dirk,
It's possible but when the capacitor broke on our machine it just stopped working altogether. If it's a Hegner, you can contact them and they should be able to offer support. It could be an issue with the switch or motor too.

Would you provide the specs for the capacitor? Mine is painted red and I can't read the specs. Scraping off the paint also removes the capacitor specs printed on the casing.
Update: looks like 8uf 250v

Hi Curtis, only just seen your message. The details written on the capacitor are as follows: 8uf +5%. 425V-10000h/cl. 475V- 3000h/cl. Means nothing to me to be honest. I just contact Hegner UK or Hegner directly and ask them to sell a new capacitor. Hope that helps . Thanks again, kindest regards.
