I love how each one is reined in and little by little lets loose their powerful voices. I think when she throws her arms open, it is so expressive. Patti Labelle has a powerhouse voice!! Not many songs can bring out her beautiful range. First time I heard her sing was at an awards show on tv. She sang “Amazing Grace” a cappella. No music whatsoever. Just her. It was awesome.
This is one of my favorites! This song reminded me of the time when I was travelling from NC back to Baltimore with my family as a preteen listening to this song on my cassette player. Cherished! Memories! #80sforlife ❤

That was a funny story about Patti LaBelle and her pies. I had forgotten that she had them on the market. Besides being a great singe and entertainer, she has always had the reputation of being a phenomenal cook.

Great freakin song. JV u gotta do 'Woman In Love' by Barbra Streisand. Barry & Robin Gibb wrote it. i believe u did the song 'Guilty' off same album. 'What Kind Of Fool' is another off that album & Barry sings on it as well.

I used to play this all the time, now I’m divorced after 40 years of marriage and every word cuts like a knife and breaks my heart because I know this is my story, I thought I would love him forever but time changes everything and the love was gone and never came back I thought I could never survive on my own but I’m doing it, and I know my son will never forgive me but once the love has gone you become destructive .

The fact is that were on different parts of the country when they filmed this video. Because of schedules they could not get together to sing this song for the video so they sang their parts to each other over the phone.

I saw Patti in concert back in 1986 when her song There's A Winner In You was out. I was in the 10th row and she brought a 10 year old girl in a wheel chair on stage who was in the first row. She wrapped the girl in a fur coat and sang the song face to face with her. The whole place was crying (I am now writing this) and a standing ovation for 5 mins after she finished. That little girl had the biggest smile I ever saw...that's when I fell in love with Patti forever! One of THE classiest people in the business! ❤ U Patti

Patti LaBelle sang Acid Queen from the Who's rock opera Tommy on tour with The Who in 1989. Been listening to Miss LaBelle since JH and I have never seen anyone nail a performance like she did when she sang that. The movie role was Tina Turner's, but Patti knocked everyone out! It's actually on RUclips!

Wow, still can’t believe young people these days don’t know who Patti LaBelle is , or only think of her for her pies. She is a an absolute legendary diva with hits in every decade since the 60’s, if nothing else I’m sure they’ve heard Lady Marmalade and didn’t know who it was. Wow!
Pattie la belle iis the greatest she never.lets you down I remember a show I saw her in at the uptown theater in Philadelphia it a shame that you thought all she did was pies look up her music and listen she is the greatest .
