Damn, i didn't expect someone to make a video on City Life in 2024! That's my childhood game and also introduction to city building genre (cuz I didn't knew about SimCity and always got the 1$ bin games) I still have that City Life Deluxe DVD i got back then.
This is the main city builder I played when I was a kid and I didn't even know others existed at the time! I still play it even though I play Cities Skylines now
Man... nostalgia hit me like a truck, I used to play this game a lot as a kid even though there existed SimCity. Actually, this game got me into architecture and urbanism and it is one of my favorites in Steam. Thanks for the video and please make more!
First of all, thank you for reminder that this game even existed! I've used to spend some time with that and even wonder now why I never expanded my city on the other lots...
Been thinking of looking back at the Sims titles as I used to play them a lot alongside SimCity back in the day. But I don't know really, just testing the waters 😅 But I still have a list of interesting City building games to go through aswell 😄
I've played this game.I thought this would be next Simcity... but...well... Too complicated to expand city.Cultural factor looks interesting but frustrated for me.Some infrastructure may need blue colors but difficult to obtain and keep them. And I don't like graphics so much. Finally I played Simcity4 again😂 SC4 is masterpiece.
I can only agree! As fun as it is going back to older games, this one has not aged well I have to say 😅 Sure the socio cultural groups are a fun twist, but not enough to stand on its own as the sole reason to play 🤔
Actually there were some games testing this socio-thingie: even SimCity Societies was made, but then everybody pretended it never happened. Sad story, because that aspect is cool.@@victiusplays
@@victiusplays From what I played, the socio cultural groups still exist in XL and XXL but they are just cosmetic at this point and it is interesting to see that Cities Skylines actually took some features from this series such as buying tiles and things being gated by population lol

Also "Why are Blue Collars moving here" is the biggest mood of this game haha

of all the titles you tested, this is by far the clunkiest and most rigid. I don't really like it.
