8 things to do before a round...
1. Find your golf shoes
2. Drive like crazy to the course
3. buy balls
4. buy a glove
5. buy tees
6. Buy a flapjack
7. Run to the first
8. Slice it O.B and take a Mulligan.
Now you are ready to start.
Accurate
9. Tell the Mrs you’ll only be a couple of hours
Relatable...
You are the reason why people bitch about slow play. :)>
@@jred5153 lol. I tee off at 6.30am and am driving home at 9am because I take a free drop after every bad shot :)
"Keep the drinking to a minimum the night before."
Great advice. I find it best to save all the drinking for when you get to the course.
This ties in well with arriving in plenty of time at the course - gonna need to start early to be well-oiled or (even better) sloshed by tee-time.
Excellent advice
Very good guidance, Thank you . A minute or two, eyes closed and 11 deep breaths with gentle smile before starting all that's mentioned in this video can help one to be more aware and enjoy the process of play.
Great tip gonna use it tomorrow
Great advice. I think it works for me to do a little relax reminder....talk to myself..u got this...its just another drive..or shot etc. and bam...not all the time...but it works more than it doesn't
eating right is the hardest part for me. I'm not a big eater in the mornings, I usually go on coffee until about 2 or 3 pm. plus I'm excited and nervous when I'm going to play golf, so eating before the round is basically out of the question. I try to eat a big dinner like pasta and bread the night before. I'm very good at hydrating though. And I will bring a small bag of apple slices to eat during the round, something refreshing and not too heavy. When the round is done I am definitely ready for a hot dog!
I use an app and plan all tee shots. Playing my best golf since doing it. Took the guesswork out and confident in my shots
What app mate?
@@biscuitboycj hole19. I use the notes section
Good tip. However, how do you react when the hole has a completely different look and feel of what you have imagined on the app ? E.g. a much bigger uphill start, or a very narrow-looking opening ? Do you change your plan, or stick to it ? May I ask you what your golf level is please ?
Good advice to start the golf season for all ages. Good sport that encourages sportsmanship and etiquette
Tip No. 9 should be get your GPS set up before you hit the first tee. I often forget and find myself halfway down the first hole with my device still searching and loading the course. Plays havoc with your composure.
I feel that, sometimes that gps watch can take a few to load up. Been trying to load it up right away
I will follow your advice on Monday morning for our senior round and let you know the result. Unfortunately I am much stiffer than you are and will only reach my knees instead of my feet 😂😂👍🏽🏌🏼♂️⛳️🇧🇪
Don’t static stretch cold and don’t even static stretch for longer than 10 seconds before activity. Reduces the amount of force that muscle can produce. Dynamic stretching much more beneficial and once warm static stretches for no more than 10s of any areas you feel you really need it.
Exactly!
I find the RAMP method to be very effective!
Don’t forget to have fun as well!
If your on a trip in an area you don’t know, buy your beer for the round the night before. Some areas don’t allow alcohol sales before a certain time of day, and you don’t want to be late to the first tee with warm bag beers from the week before.
Really good tips, a few of them I forget or neglect, thanks
#4 - Hit fairway. Approach shot needs to be on green. Avoid bunkers around the green. I'm really glad i watched this video, i now know that fairways and GIR are important
Don't forget to have a ball marker, pitch mark tool, and/or some tees in you pocket before you get to the first tee. Also, walkers drop your bag or pull cart to the side you need to exit the green towards the next hole.
Very clear and interesting recommendations...thank you!
My putting drill. Dead straight level putt from one foot, two, three, four just to make sure I'm set up and hitting square. Then a few long putts to get used to the speed. Then chipping to see how the ball checks up or doesn't. 5 minutes max and leave with that fresh in my mind to the first tee.
I don't use putting aids or mirrors or lines on the ball or any of that crap. All I want to know is if I'm square and know the speed of the greens that day. Nothing else to cloud my mind.
Excellent ideas.
Great work 👏
4:43 you’re talking about beer right?
Nice video!
😂😂“A putt that you cannot possibly miss”😂😂
So, what do you do when your local does not have a Range? Most of the Munis here in the Chicago area do not have ranges. Some don't even ahve a practice green.
We play chick evans every week. Have always decided that the first 3 holes are the warm up!! Lol
@@lennoxoconnell5541 right!
Get a good night sleep *as I’m watching at 2 am the night before*
Very nice. Great points to get ready for golf!
Those are tips I try to go by but are a little different as you get older. If you are at least in your 60s you’ll never get a round in if you wait for a good night’s sleep. I also start at the top of the bag and go down, it’s a bending over thing, essentially still getting warned up but going back to the driver for the last few balls because you’re using that club next. I save the pints or whiskey for later. Makes a good analgesic, good for aching muscles 😁. Also bring a sandwich with the water to keep my blood sugar even. I clean my clubs with ammonia water after my round, if I hadn’t too many pints 🍺
.....take a dunk, feeling poopy on the course is a damper. ...🙁🤣
Wonder if anyone got to the end of the video 😂
No
Didn't watch any of it. Just commented. No likes, no subscribe, no BS heard. 🤣
Superb👍
Apparently, sleeping fully-clothed is #9 then?
Especially in your golf clothes ☺️
So to summarise... do what 90% of golfers do.
Live like a normal human by sleeping and hydrating
Arrive at the course with enough time to stretch an warm up.
Have some form course management.
Really didn't need a 13 minute video.
The bend over and touch your toes is really bad for your lower back, you have to be considering all ages when giving advice.
Crouching, to _gently_ stretch 👍
...if you have no kids, wife, social life...
The tip about food is huge! No pit stops at McDonald’s or Starbucks
Then you hit the first couple OB and destroy your round. Next you abandon Captain Sensible's hole strategy plan and play like an eccentric millionaire!
Go with a wedge you’re going to use most during the round
Me: *reaches for sand wedge*
Don't ever turn up at first tee without a chicken n Scarified onion sandwich with a little touch of garlic mayonnaise and never leave out the pickle,,totally essential ,always ensure before you leave the house that the greyhound has been allowed into the garden and this is important that the Moggy is locked in, then and only then, give the dog a full scratch, and off with you to the pay as you play course with all the other Bogans
Well crap. I'm going golfing today, I'm hung over, didn't sleep well, muscles tight, running late so no warm up, and haven't eaten in 20 hours. Guess you should have released this video yesterday. All your fault! 😁😁😁
Ha! How did u go?
@@gabriel222 I shot my career best!
Say a prayer
Static stretching decreases performance and increases the risk of injury. Bad idea
Jesus. How many ad breaks?
Why do all these videos have to use the you tube music/ noise? I don't have a pianist at my golf lessons. Don't want to be mean but it gets annoying. Almost as bad as 'wazzup guys'. Abandoned half through.
You don’t have a backing musician?! I don’t hit a ball without my string quartet with me!
@@Bhock182 I can only play Table Tennis with The Band Of the Royal Marines playing Burt Bacharach.
Don’t leave clubs in car overnight it’s a gift to thieves
No thieves where some of us live...My clubs are always in the car, along with my shoes and pull cart.
@@chex313 it only takes one time.
@@jred5153 Good luck breaking into my car...lol...My clubs are 30 years old ...not much of a loss. What thief is out looking for golf clubs anyway?
I mean if he wants to find out about fl gun laws let em
You've lost the plot! Being hhungover is essential
Sleep in golf clothes and shoes.
I think it’s more important to clean the grip than the clubface.
Both are important. Also, change you grips every year. It's a easy DIY
Love this channel, but please don't give fitness tips and stretches. Particularly rubbish ones like in this 😂
Don’t waste time watching this. It is simply an exercise in stating the bleedin’ obvious.
