- I am solo backpacking for 48h, to a remote lake to go mountain Trout fishing! This catch, cook, camp adventure took me through the Washington wilderness, across creeks, through the woods, and into the Mountains to a pristine, alpine lake, FILLED with hungry Rainbow Trout, while at night, I was visited by curious salamanders. Your appreciation for life, nature, and freedom is absolutely inspiring. Too often do I catch myself cursing, pissed off, angry, and/or just frustrated with crap in life. I know all obstacles can't be avoided and what not but you really make it look so easy. I am going to try my best to continue to live my own life obviously but with the positivity that you emit.
The passion, and peace this guy has is astonishing. I would love to just go one day with him and have him manifest his peace onto me.

These views are like a magic adventure, those mountains, forests, the life in it feels like you are truly in a calm and adventurous place. Sadly some people dont care about it and just destroy everything not realizing that bc of them we live and without them we will just be no more
I’ve watched a lot of fishing videos before being an avid fisherman myself but your videos and attention to detail and overall positive outlook on enjoying nature has been making me want to go out more on these trips in the mountains of the south thanks for all you do man keep catching and keep exploring!

You said it! The feeling I got from watching this was just that kindred spirits exist. And, while I may not know him personally, the connection with his ethos and his sense of adventure is real. i cant remember the name of this lake but seeing it my dad took me here when i was younger. They called it Salamander Lake. went up with my uncles, They all caught nice Trout but all i caught were a few salamanders somehow. Its a Core Childhood memory to look back on. Happy to see it again on Video!

A tip and an observation: keep the shorter, more plump trout for cooking. They are fatter and more flavorful because they have yet to spawn. The longer thinner fish are not nearly as well flavored. The observation: your enthusiasm is the key to your video. If I did this , it would be sort of ho-hum, but a lot of info. I think people like the scenery and your joy more. Cheers!

Why do I always wave and smile back when you do, while launching your drone? Your positive demeanor is contagious, and I thank you!
You can’t throw a streamer like that right on the water in front of a trout. If it’s a dry fly or a hopper it might be interested but streamers imitate baitfish and crayfish so something that size hitting the top of the water is just gonna spook it. If you cast past it and strip it in front it may have taken it but you need to be careful about the floating line as well.
What makes this even better is your genuine enthusiasm and passion for this while detailing and educating us. You have so much respect for the earth and fish. Keep up the quality content and cant wait for me! Subscribed!!

This is the first video I watched by this channel. I highly enjoyed it as it brought back memories to me of my younger days hiking and camping in NW & SW Montana's high mountain lakes. go smaller on the fly. "match the hatch" trout have amazing eyes and can see a scud 10yrds out. they tend to turn away from bigger presentations.
