Jaw-Dropping Reaction to a Learner on a Yamaha R1 Trying to Outrun the Police!

  • In this video, I share my reaction to an intense police chase that took place in Sweden. The chase involved an unmarked SAAB 95 Aero and a 2001 Yamaha R1, and it turns out that the police officer driving the SAAB was later convicted for two offences - lack of use of sirens and not obeying an order to abort the pursuit. The officer also didn't have permission to take aggressive action, and was ultimately sentenced to pay a fine of €2000 (roughly €3000 in today's money when adjusted for inflation). Watch as I react to this incredible police chase and share my thoughts on the events that took place. Be sure to check it out and leave your comments below.

      The one criminal is the cop forcing one dangerous situation after another. Both for the rider and other traffic. It can be matter of legal action.
      Also, it's not illegal lending your bike to someone possessing the appropriate license.

      I was once chased by a pig in an unmarked car and I didn't know it was a pig so I was scared for my life. I outran the guy and threw the bike between some parked cars and waited for the car to turn up. This being a mainly track bike (rd350ypvs race tuned) it didn't have mirrors. When the pig stopped to give me a mouthful I told him I didn't know he was a pig. His actual words I'll never forget. He shouted "You're a biker you are supposed to have good observational skills", at which point I lost my temper and screamed "Do you see any f*cking mirrors? Observation? You total c*nt". He literally got back in his car and drove off without another word. We'd just been doing around 120mph on a busy seaside promenade.....
      Pigs can't be trusted with anything.

The frame also got bent, so the handling was decreased. The police car was unmarked and they hit him before they turned the lights on. Because of the uncalled aggressive actions he was scared and tried to get away. He ended up breaking his back when he hit a fence in the ditch.

      in sweden police are not even allowed to chase bikes. they can only attempt to stop the biker but once the biker has seen the police trying to stop them and runs the cops have to abort. they are only allowed to chase if there is a more serious crime than traffic violations. crimes like murder robbery and rape. in those cases they are even allowed to knock people down from bikes. but traffic violations they ain't allowed to do shit more than just a regular stop. we also got no face no case laws so even if you own the bike and your license plate is on they can't do shit because you can claim it wasn't you and have no obligation to say who was riding.

    Honestly I feel like the roundabout is probably the safest place where kissing the front bumper on his back wheel would be the best way to take him down. If you're going to engage in a chase which already is avoided in many places around the world simply due to the risk factor, I think that if the police officer took the decision to knock him off having the rider slowly approach roundabouts would be his best chance at taking him down without risking anyone's life.

      @@jeffreystorer4966 it's even illegal for cops to chase bikers in Sweden. they need suspicion of a serious crime like robbery murder or rape. traffic violations here are not enough for police to chase bikers as they have nothing to protect them like cars do. so cops here are just supose to make sure the biker knows that a cop is trying to stop them and once the biker makes it clear that he don't intend to stop the cops have to abort the chase. problem is just that cops rarely get punished and there is no agency that investigates cops. it's up to each individual police station to do their own investigation and shit. they made it illegal after this one bike chase that ended in death which you can see the police footage of on RUclips.

    Absolutely agree that the bike should never have been caught, The only thing that I can think of is that the rider must have stolen it, because, if you have an unrestricted R1(and a restricted one wouldn't be able to see the sorts of speeds seen here - even though he rarely hits much speed, he's still going over 160kph/100mph) by legit means in the EU, you've been riding at least 2 years and wouldn't be riding like that.
    Bike riding apart; I've had enough car drivers trying to ram me off the road, enough who take exception to ANY kind of bike, that having an unmarked police car coming up behind me and blaring his horn at me, I am highly unlikely to think "Oh, that must be the old bill NOT using his blues and twos but is instead using his horn". Nor am I going to waste time trying to see inside the vehicle, I'm just going to get out of the idiot's way asap. There really is n o reason to stop and let him ram you (and yes, there are plenty of car drivers who will do precisely that). So the safest way to get away from a homicidal car driver is to use the performance you have with a bike to get well away and stay well away. Once you're safely away, you can then report the idiot for his dangerous driving and illegal/unnecessary use of his horn. Once again, proof positive that it is a good idea to have video recording equipment on your bike. There are just too many over-stressed people in the UK these days, and that stress too often boils over into random acts of utterly ridiculous aggression.
    That is just one of many reasons why I left the UK and now live a (relatively) stress free life in Spain.

Someone could have taken a left turn in front of him and if they had a passenger they could easily die. Someone's child. You put civilians at risk you're a squid. Hey if someone sees this and are going to buy an R1 put the Toce pipes on it. I had Toce's pipes on my 05'...beast mode!

    It is ridiculous for the police to chase him as if it were life and death. What can be so important is getting a speeder fixed or what it's about. Swedish police recently chased two 15-year-old boys on a moped to death in a hot pursuit as they were called. Which was the case, if not causing another person's death.

    • @savagememes873
      @savagememes873 6 месяцев назад

      yeah Swedish police ain't even allowed to chase bikers. they can only attempt to stop a biker but once the biker makes it clear that they have no intention of stopping they have to abort. they implemented that rule like some time in the early 2000s after one biker got chased to death. problem with Swedish police is that there is no agency that investigates them. it's up to each individual station to do all the investigations so most of the time the cops get away with bad behavior. they are only allowed to chase and knock down bikers if they are suspected of a more serious crime than just traffic violations. stuff like rape murder or robbery.

    • @christiannordin232
      @christiannordin232 6 месяцев назад

      @@savagememes873 Well, it sounds good and would have been good if they followed this. A bit embarrassing but a true story. I personally got chased by Swedish police when I was driving a Eu-moped (45km/h) and didn't have a driver's license for it so I made the stupid move of trying to drive away from them which resulted in them hitting me 2 times from behind so my beautiful like runner broke. Then they push me out of the way to finally rip me off and put their knee on my back so breathing didn't work. But well after all this tumult, I told the one policeman that: that was a bit of an overreaction to run over me. Then he just replies, it was you who ran us over. So I got 29 thousand in fines as unemployed at the same time as I have to be met by the bailiff.. That's how Sweden does it. Just as well get it said so they don't have someone in Sweden reading this and then thinking he's going on an adventure. I mean, if you're unlucky, they'll kill you, and if they want you to stop then it'll even be difficult if you want to.
