I’m in technical operations with a major telecom company, for over 15 years. I always thought I was too clever to ever fall for anything like that. I got scammed about 4300 usd this time last year. It sucked!! Whole family paid for my errors.

I had to deal with a scammer for a year! They told me I was some man who owed, like, 400 dollars to an online cash advance place. I'm an elderly, but nor stupid, female. They told me cops were going to come arrest me. I laughed at them and told them I KNEW they weren't in this country b/c we don't jail people for debt, here! They harassed me with calls at all hours of day and night. No one would help! Not my service provider. Not the police. I was on my own. So, I got a whistle. It took a while, but they finally stopped.

As an Indian in the US, I feel ashamed that the majority of the scammers are from India. I have personally gotten calls from these scammers and the moment they figure out (from my name), that I'm Indian, they abuse me in Hindi and hang up. Hats off to you for spreading awareness!

@@sruggiero86 circumstances. most of the people have had cold hearted experiences in life. lack of trust, humanity in general. the world has always been against the people for centuries - conquered first by mongols and then british and now by the west (mentally). poverty is what drives their behaviour. I do not support their act and scam, but the above are probably some of the reasons.

Dude, you are truly the man! I consider myself technically savvy, but even I came close to getting scammed once. If not for a bit of additional searches last minute, I could’ve been out hundreds of dollars myself. These guys are extremely convincing! It takes a strong man to stand for those who can’t. It takes a great man. an absolute LEFEND, to choose to head the charge! Very proud of you my friend for the skill to impact the world and a heart that’s even greater than the knowledge. When my son was about to be born I was in such a weak emotional and mental state I almost succumbed to a scam myself, and I consider myself above average tech savvy. It was just truly a moment of mental fatigue.

This entire channel is what happens when a child who loves to make crank phone calls grows up and decides to use his powers for good. I love it.
What's a crank phone call?
@@ShaunPuzon It's a think kids used to do in the 90s where we'd dial random numbers and then mess with whoever answered. It became less possible when caller ID was invented, and as telemarketers became more numerous.

@@ShaunPuzon someone misheard it once and called it that and allegedly after the show "crank yankers" came out it kind of stuck but to be honest i've been hearing people say it since the 80's so I guess that's what a "crank" phone call is?
Love you brother. My mom got tagged AGAIN so she's on a list obviously but she disconnected and called ME. I answered the new call. He could not tell me her name nor could he connect to her system (I put her on my VPN because she liveS one street over, DIRECTLY BEHIND ME)

But I've got a more evil and twisted approach. I have the personally identifiable information of several scammers and of their immediate family members as well (parents and children). I wonder how these scammers will react when they find themselves up for sale on the black market as slaves.
Since India has no laws, they can't do anything to get this removed.

You don't know how many calls I get a day by a scammer and have almost fell into a few until watching your RUclips channel, I can't imagine what the folks who've lost money must feel, but I bet it ain't good. A HUGE THANK YOU for what y'all are doing!! They have no souls and no heart. Now every time I think I'm being scammed I give'em a mouth full and hang up on them. You need to set up an anti scammer task force. The government can’t do it but bad asses like you can. You are like a super hero in the cyber world fighting for those who can’t fight back. Please keep it up.
Won't work. In the US the scammers are aided by personnel in law enforcement who get a cut from the stolen cash. That's why the fact or lead that phone call scammers in the US must use spoofing tech they get from cable guys never leads anywhere: the police would have to prosecute comcast employees and their own police in order to stop scammers. if you know anything about the Cager Class, then you know they don't can't and won't clean their own house.

During the initial call when asked how your "wife" passed away, should've tried to guilt trip him by saying you were going to pay for an operation or treatment but you got scammed and lost the money, resulting in her death. Never know who will flip just like the young call center rep who told you he was trying to scam you after you guilt tripped him. Just a thought. As always, you do great work and loved the ending lol. They don't see their victims as people worthy of empathy; they believe that their actions are completely justified because they think Americans are terrible people who deserve to be robbed. I just found your webpage. You are an absolute GENIUS!!! Vigilante Justice at its absolute finest! Within the past few weeks, I started to get calls from a Sirius call center (or so they claimed) and I do subscribe to Sirius service so at first it didn't seem suspicious. Then I realized they were calling me from MY same area code here on the west coast; (360) and you'd expect an 800 or 888 area code from most companies. I blocked the number immediately but I almost fell for their scam, asking for my credit card account number. Thanks so much for all your hard work!!!!!!!!!!!

As someone that works in Credit card fraud for a large bank thank you for doing this. It is gut wrenching to see each and every day how many people fall victim to these scams.

@@Marc-io8qm I would say a good 85% of them are at least 60+ As for demographic, I have seen people from all walks of life. Those with $1,000 credit lines and those with $100,000 credit lines. It makes no difference there sadly.
I believe they target people based on first names - I get many calls, because my first name is old-fashioned. They always call on the land-line; It's nice to be forewarned. Only family and scammers call the land line, basically.

Now I'm binge watching these videos. The little old lady getting scammed was heartbreaking. Elderly people can't hear or see very well and they might think the scammers are helping them. They are so vulnerable. I have answered the phone for my Mom once and it was the "fix your computer" scam. I politely told them they were lying because she didn't own a computer.
Oh my.gosh, you are so amazing!!! Doing this to the scammers, is just what they need! I try to waste their time, but I wish I had your computer skills! I've talked to 3 scammers in the last few days. The first one said I won the publishers clearing house sweepstakes and I won a brand new car, plus $35,000 dollars. All I had to do was buy a "towing" card, that was really a visa gift card. I called him out, said he should be in jail etc, and he swore at me. Hung up. Second call was a lady saying my visa has some suspicious charges on it. Called her out eventually too! I like to waste their time. Third guy said he was from stars air ambulance and I won a cash prize. He told me to write lots of numbers down etc. I called him out too. And hung up on him. I hate that they r scamming all these vulnerable people, and I appreciate what are doing! Keep up the great work!!! 👍

I had them call me the other day telling me that there was a package intercepted at the border filled with drugs and money under my name. Tried to keep them on the phone as long as possible and then in the end I began demanding my drugs and money. Thanks to you I always know when it’s them and try to waste their time as much as I can.

You retire, then some scammers come through and steal everything you saved. Then at 65 you either work or go live with someone. You don't think that's a bad crime? I do.... Sure there are worse criminal acts than this. But for me, hate scammers more than anything else.

When I first started watching this genre of video, the draw really was watching y'all run circles around the scammers and wasting their time, but the more I watch I think my favorite part is when the victims are contacted especially if they can be helped out at all. It's real nice to see that support be given.

I love it when these guys become obviously suspicious of you, but then they still keep trying to scam. There's a psychology lesson in there somewhere
Probably akin to the sunken cost fallacy, they suspect it's a joke but don't want to risk losing the money if it's just a weirdo on the phone. Once they commit a couple hours toward scamming someone it's hard to give it up until they are absolutely sure they won't get anything. Man I really wish there was a way these scammers could somehow face legal trouble. If only you could somehow actually report them with the evidence you gather and different countries governments would work together. The world would be a better place with teamwork
Well they do get raided by the police time to time. But it's poor country and new people just come in hopes of easy money. And there also is teamwork with FBI and Indian Police. They know a lot about these but they often wait because they want to bust the big guys rather than the little ones. Gathering evidence and building solid case takes time.

When 2 scammer hunters were in India
They were shown a chatgroup warning the scammers to watch out for them and shoot them!
The chat group had 55.000 scammers in there!
I got scammed last year. It's embarrassing. I know what these people are going through. I wish I had known about Scammer Payback sooner.
So embarrassing! I don’t even want to tell my story on here. I need to get ahold of these people. After they scammed me they scammed my friend and sister cause I gave them their number. And I felt so bad I had to pay them back so I was really left with nothing after they scammed me.
I am on RUclips all the time I looked up scammers next day and seen the same stuff happen to me step by step. Smh I can’t believe I fell for this. Red flag right away should’ve been when he told me his name was Lucas!
