For any of you who have the adaptive headlights, I can confirm its pretty much the same. I did mine based off this video. Only difference is the bottom 8mm bolt on the adaptive headlights has a cover you can pop off with a small flathead and there is an extra 2 connectors on the back of the headlights.
Thanks for the great video! I just did mine recently and I am getting a ASF system error (adaptive headlights). Would I be able to adjust that lower 8mm bolt to correct it?
@@rafaelmramirez291 I will double check, it was only 3 connectors. The drivers side projector is really off, like up and to the left if you in the driver's seat. I was really worried about those 2 long bolts when I put everything back together. Wasn't sure if they needed to be in a certain position.
Chris, great tutorial man, one very crucial thing is missing though, you HAVE to tell us exactly which ceramic polish protectant product you used for the restoration of the exterior surface of the headlight lenses, or figure the information out for us and provide it. You said it is strong, clear, provides a mirror shine and also protects against UV rays causing yellowing of the surface. I'm prepared to wet-sand the lenses using 1000, 2000 and 3000 sandpaper for scuffing the surfaces in preparation for that product you are referring to @13:11. Please provide us either the full name of the product or a link to it and maybe even highlight the comment so we can all navigate to it and buy it for ourselves just like the paint cans. You have no idea how much we would appreciate it man, and i understand you shouting out your buds, but it's only fair for us to know what product to use and not have to hit them up over instagram, especially if we all intend to do this project by ourselves and likely live in separate states anyways, preventing us from giving them business even if we wanted to. We appreciate your work, Chris.
Drop in a Morimoto 3" STi-r glass lens on the projector. The OEM ones are plastic. Remove the plastic OEM, cut off the 3 little alignment nubs. The new glass one does not need to be glued back on as the chrome housing will secure the lens in place very well with no glue or brackets needed. Result is a blue cut-off and improved clarity. Worth the extra $60.00 bucks for the lens. I did mine when i smoked out the Cress and amber side reflector.
hey i just bought a q50 and the driver side high beams dont work, if i were to take them apart is there a way to fix it or would i be better off just buying a whole new headlight
I just want say this was an awesome video!! I was able to do my headlights and added some demon eyes on mine. My only input after doing my first head light is don't frost the clear tube under the drl. That way it can light up and look sexy af
@@edwardoughm 11:33, you are talking about those two tubes shown on the table in front of Chris at this moment?^.. those ones, correct? If so, let me know. As someone who hasn't opened the headlights yet, what are those things exactly? Are they simply plastic covers that sort of slide over / snap onto the inner-headlight LED strip ?? The LED strip that looks like the angry eyebrow of the headlight. How does it work telling from your memory of disassembly. Do you suggest that frosting or tinting it is quite limiting of the light from shining through? Or that it just doesn't look as good without those extra lumens of light making it through?
Hi, Great video. One question, do you your DRL dim by frosting them? That’s the only thing holding me back. Looks great but don’t want to loose the brightness. Unless I do some light upgrades.
Its not as bright but you can still see the lights. At the end I showed a clip of the lights on in daylight. You can clearly still see the lights and its better at night. These are just the drl so you still have your middle bulb in the eye that is giving you most of the light anyway so at night its the same as before
Yo so I am doing this DIY right now and I found the DRL for the eyebrow. It has enough space to have an light upgrade. Very small led but i do think it’s possible to upgrade. Im gonna attempt to try to make find a brighter LED that is compatible. Hope this helps. (Ps: this is a very detail tutorial im almost done with the first headlight
@@yungzillaa6116 yea there is some space to do some customization. I kinda wish i would have added like a demon eye but didnt care to much i just wanted black housings. Thays dope man glad the vid was useful 🙏
I actually did my 370z headlights in the oven. Only reason I did this with a heat gun is because I have a new oven and didnt want to put it in there lol
I been waiting to see exactly how you do this. Thanks for the DIY! I wanna do this to my headlights but I have the ones that turn with the steering wheel so I don't know if it will be harder. I would also like to do the demon eyes. Great vid!
Thank you bro🙏 and I can only paint the housings I think yoh woukd be better off getting them done by someone who can do everything since they are going to be opened anyway
I think its better to get them done by a professional who can add lights for you. To me it's not worth you sending them to me tonjust paint the housings
@@Chrizleyva oh ok thank u chris. I love ur channel man. Ur gonna grow man just keep doing ur thing man it just takes time now. Your channel has been very helpful for me and my q50

Adaptive headlights are standard on RS? Or it's just on hybrids with tech package?

For the lens/plastic pieces you spray painted frost white. Are those oem or aftermarket acrylic u put in?

While watching this video, I'm disassembling the v37 (q50) headlights. Thanks to this video, it's very helpful !!
Glad you found it useful 🙌
Hi bro i have question for eyebrows leds you have any idea they use rgbw strips or its just one led board replacement
I've seen most replace with a new one I haven't been able to figure out what they use If I did I would have done that lol
Bro do a night shot of the lights 🙏🏽looking to do this soon!!!
Did you use primer?
Where did you get the lenses from?
One of my favorite Q50 Mods!!!
Mine to haha 😘
What did u do to the corner yellow marker
Tinted it black with spray paint
Did you paint the orange reflector in the corner as well or under it?
Yes use vht night shades for that
Could you do this for the 2017?
Why the top stripe (eyebrow)isn't glowing? Have you disconnected it? Or those are not full led headlights?
I had put it on a setting where only the bottom ones would turn on so you guys would see how it looks but both do actually turn on

what does that part look like?
@@giannihermoza9338 it looks like a curved stick. It should be at the top of the headlight when you open it

Chrizleyva Ye definitely man! Not too difficult and well worth the way it came out💪🏽im finishin up the second headlight today🙏🏽
Nice Job! How did you go about removing the plastic inner housing from the lenses without breaking the little plastic tabs holding them in?
You have to be very careful and push the tabs on the lenses. Luckly non broke
@@Chrizleyva Thanks for the reply man! I got them out right after i left this comment, luckily all unbroken somehow lol
you can put headlights from q60?
I don't think so it's different shape
How did u remove the other parts that have to be painted
That just have clips and screws the clips are plastic so you have to be very careful when removing
Done this a few times in past is there a reason u chose heat gun over oven?
