My father was there then and met him personally! Of course he also got an autograph 🙂. My dad said that Quorthon really made time for every single fan! His fans were everything to him! A very "down to earth" man of genius and very friendly !❤🔥⚡
Wow, this was phenomenal to watch. I only recently discovered the wonder of Bathory only 2ish years ago, but they quickly climbed the ladder to being one of my all time favorite bands. I'm not into their black metal stuff too much, I prefer the viking metal of Hammerheart and TOTG, but I still appreciate how big of an influence they were on the black metal scene. Quarthon was quite the talented artist, may he RIP.
HAMMERHEART brought me into the music of Quorthon & Bathory! Now Thomas 'Quorthon' Forsberg is eating and drinking from the tables of Valhalla. R.I.P. and thanks for your music!
amazing watch, i only discovered bathory mid last year but has absolutely fallen in love with his music. my dad was a huge fan of him growing up and he almost squealed when i told him i was getting into him. r.i.p, absolute legend🤘
Did you also hear “Call from the grave” in GTA 4? I used to have the GTA IV: Episodes of Liberty City and played it on my Xbox 360 all the time, I kinda miss that game. I think I’ve probably heard the Bathory song too bc I also remember frequently hearing “Run to the hills” by Iron Maiden and I liked it. I didn’t became a Bathory fan until last year tho but it was kinda cool realising that I might have listened to a Bathory song without even knowing that this band was gonna be one of my favourites later in life
@@bluesapphire7548Regardless whether he was influenced by Venom or Not, Quorthon did far more musically and set the path for "Viking" Metal, or for me North European Heritage Metal. He went beyond just Black Metal.

He was such a gorgeous.!
Only thing I never understood about this great artist why he never explicitly stated being influenced by Venom. Nothing wrong about it.
He probably didnt want to be seen as a venom clone, just my guess 🤷

what is the name of the firs song in this video?
One Rode to Asa Bay
what happend to the other two members of bqtahory kothaar and vvornth
They weren't real people. Vvornth and Kothaar were pseudonyms for session musicians and/or Quorthon himself.
Bathory was always a one man band, other people only existed as help at certain times.
