looking at even metal exclusively, you see how fame turns most bands into generic trash. hypocrisy is great for its sound but also lots of songs have really well written songs on a social/meainstream critical level. show me famous bands that arent slaves for their government.
They are more Death than Melodic imho.
I saw this this year at Summer Breeze and they still kicked asses. :)

The Sound and Energy is Awesome on this one. HYPOCRISY is a band that every album they have done from Penetrailia to Worship have been great albums. They expanded their Sound and Songwriting from Death Metal, to melodic death, and dont have a sound that you can put into one Category, A Great Extreme Metal band!!

Sofia > Wacken 98 > This > Wacken 2022 > Stratsburg 04 > Summebreeze 2022 (For the 2022 shows Peter was sick, he had good growl, but his highs were terrible, the mix was bad and the crowd dead, he had better vocals on Wacken 2022 as he still hadn't lost his voice, he got sick only just before the show, and there where several moshpits plus a louder crowd) At least that's how i'd rate the "pro shot" full concerts.

i still count Virus as the best metal album in history after Painkiller, most dissapointing to me was a visit to a Hypo gig in my town in Poland, maybe 50 guests at all, we managed to get some pictures with the band but what of it? this only shows how dumb the rest of society is, all they want is booze, disco and sex, art is so alien to them theyll rather burn it

I'm in my 40s and this is the first time I have heard the song since I was a teenager. I heard it ONCE but always remembered the main riff and slow brooding nature of the song. Just randomly stumbled upon it here. This concert is absolutely amazing.
Seems the solos in part of the songs are left away. Wonder why.
