Wild seeing so many in comment section saying they didn't know who dimmu borgir was until this show... 14 yr old me was at this ozzfest & was super excited to see this band, as I had been jamming them on guitar for awhile. Also at that time internet still wasn't as fast as it is today. A lot of metal fans at that time were just being introduced to black metal specially cradle of filth but not many knew of dimmu borgir. I believe their tour with ozzfest was the biggest break through as far as introducing real black metal to the people of the U.S.A

I hear many Black metal fans calling DB sellouts. The fact is they have touched on the symphonic and progressive side of metal. I love it. The screams of purists in every genre hold everybody back. The same thing happened in Jazz, Blues and rock when more progressive elements where introduced.

The funny thing is that symphonic black metal doesn't appeal to that many more people than raw black metal. Who exactly are they selling out to?? Their sound has evolved over the years as is the case with all great long-standing metal bands. Long live Dimmu Borgir!

Tracklist and Lyrics (you are welcome)
    1 - Spellbound by the Devil (0:22 - 4:20)
You have returned to the torture-chambers
To find peace among the rotting corpses
You have returned to the execution place
To inhale the smell of blood
Death and terror rules the land
    We have been spellbound
You have returned to the hidden graves
    Only you know about
You have returned to to face your victims
And feel sensation of violence once again
Death and terror rules the soul
    You have been spellbound
    By the Devil
    Murderer, you have returned
    To create fear and sorrow
Death and terror rules the land
    We have been spellbound
    By the Devil
    2 - Vredesbyrd (4:23 - 9:03)
    Reis deg opp
    La oss bestride
    Den tanke fra vår lend
    Og dyrk
    På en forbannet jord
    En smertens ætt
    For så og tynge
    De barmhjertiges skjød
    Som har tiltro til
    Den sjeleløses brød
    For den tro du besitter
Er intet annet enn avsmak og hovmod
    Og din nøden etter viten
Er en overflod av hån og skjend
Smerten i mitt hjerte er ikke tørste
    Etter himmelsk legeme
Ei er det sviktende søken etter englemakt
Det er ilden og den brenner
Det er bare det at du
    Skjemmer for den
    Ta del i skyldens skygge
Behag din sjel med syndens under
    For hvor er vel du
    Når lampen slukkes
    Men døden kommer ei
    Med vårt bud
    Gjenklang fra den prektiges arv
    Vil innfri det endelige forderv
    Reis deg opp
    La oss bestride
    Den tanke fra vår lend
    Og dyrk
    På en forbannet jord
    En smertens ætt
    For så og tynge
    De barmhjertiges skjød
    Som har tiltro til
    Den sjeleløses brød
Bring dom over andre en ditt eget hode
Der du gjemmer din skam i lovsang
Så skal du få smake frukten
    Av din egen bortgang
Som en flokk av helveds opphav
    Og forvaltere av foraktens sønn
Parerer vi deres list med avskyens prakt
Med beviset på vår tunge byrde
    Ligger deres sinn i åndenød
    Skamfert tilbake uten makt
    Reis deg opp
    La oss bestride
    Den tanke fra vår lend
    Og dyrk
    På en forbannet jord
    En smertens ætt
    For så og tynge
    De barmhjertiges skjød
    Som har tiltro til
    Den sjeleløses brød
    3 - Kings of the Carnival Creation (9:22 - 17:09)
    Incarnated marvels simplified
Effects from such a disconsolate kind
Impotence of the once so perfect living
    Erase and rewind
Stand rigid for the next battle
    Peace means reloading your guns
The love for life is all hatred in disguise
A carnival creation with masks undone
In search for the guidelines to the gateways of sin
through mires of misanthropy with wrath in mind
Sophistication as cruelty and perfection as virulent truth
Confidently dawned, to pick the best of enemies
An abyss womb stretched wide open, exposed to retaliate
    [chorus:]
With the stigma feasting upon your flesh I wish you well
Thorns from the fountains of fate licking lepered skin
Worshipped by anyone's mass on our planet hell
    What on earth possessed you
Consuming illusions made from hysteria and swallowed tongues
Devoured by doubt, conducting arts of misconception
Testimonial sufficiency declaring numbness of all perceptions
Glance into the blackness hidden beneath your surface
And enjoy the suffering, sanity drained in disrespect
With such bedevilled faith in good, subsequently trusting evil
Next step for mankind will be the last seasons in sin
    [chorus:]
With the stigma feasting upon your flesh I wish you well
Thorns from the fountains of fate licking lepered skin
Worshipped by anyone's mass on our planet hell
    What on earth possessed you
Left are the kings of the carnival creation
Carrying out the echoes of the fallen
Sense the withering eternity as it fades away
The ultimate graceless voyage of all times
Only death will be guarding your angels, silently
    Cripples joining arms in clamour
Institutionalized for the rebirth, the herd will be hunted
    4 - Progenies of The Great Apocalypse (17:25 - 22:31)
The battle raged on and on
Fuelled by the venom of hatred for man
Consistently, without the eyes to see
By those who revel in sewer equally
We, the prosperity of the future seal
Cloaked by the thunders of the north wind
Born to capture the essence of
    The trails of our kind
Zero tolerance must be issued forth
    Behind the enemy's line
    So it shall be written
And so it shall be done
Zero tolerance must be issued forth
    Behind the enemy's line
    So it shall be written
And so it shall be done
The battle raged on and on
Fuelled by the venom of hatred for man
Consistently, without the eyes to see
By those who revel in sewer equally
We, the prosperity of the future seal
Cloaked by the thunders of the north wind
Born to capture the essence of
    The trails of our kind
Discover and conceive the secret wealth
And pass it unto your breed
    Become your own congregation
Measure the sovereignty of it's invigoration
We, who not deny the animal of our nature
We, who yearn to preserve our liberation
We, who face darkness in our hearts with a solemn fire
We, who aspire to the truth and pursue it's strength
Are we not the undisputed prodigy of warfare
Fearing all the mediocrity that they possess
Should we not hunt the bastards down with our might
Reinforce and claim the throne that is rightfully ours
Consider the god we could be without the grace
    Once and for all
Diminish the sub principle and leave it's toxic trace
    Once and for all
    5 - Mourning Palace (22:41 - 28:07)
Daylight has finally reached it's end
As evenfall strikes into the sky
Far away in the dark glimpsing moonlight
Sickening souls cry out in pain
    Whispering voices summoning screams
Waiting for Satan to bless their sins
    Blackhearted angels fallen from grace
Possessed by the search for utter darkness
Hear the cries from the Mourning Palace
Feel the gloom of restless spirits
Hear the screams from the Mouring Palace
Feel the doom of haunting chants
Eternal is their lives in misery
Eternal is their lives in grief
Abandoned in a void of nothingness
A chain of anger, a fetter of despair
In this garden of depraved beings
This unsacred place of helpless ones
    Satan blessed the creatures
    Inswathed them in endless night
    Whispering voices, summoning screams
Waiting for Satan to bless their sins
    Blackhearted angels fallen from grace
Possessed by the search for utter darkness

I love this concert even though Nick wasn’t with them cause it meant Tony played off the rails cause he was new. There’s something to be said about a musician that has to find their footing no matter how awesome and skilled at their craft they may be.
