But glad you're enjoying the band friend, it's just always funny to see the generational bias play out, cuz i was just on a thread where a dude was heralding the most recent Nile albums as being their best, when Black Seeds of Vengeance and In Their Darkened Shrines exists haha. Haha I was still in middle school when this came out. Crazy how time flys. Ngl, I had a love/hate relationship with this album because at the time I was pissed that Vortex/Mustis weren’t in it but now I came to appreciate it.

Never understood the hate for this album. Could they go back and add more metal riffs and drums or keys? Sure but it's such an amazing dark album on it's own. I didn't care for the quest vocals in gateways, rather been another black metal artist. But overall this album is great. Shagarth vocals are top of the game
Being a fan from the 90's, I never understood the hate either, this album was a masterpiece IMO; gets more plays than any other but Puritanical for me.
this is my first time listening thru the album & I have to say it's not bad if you forget hellhammer, vortex & mustis were fired before it was made. Just treat it like Dimmu before those guys joined the band. I think I will pick this up on vinyl if it is repressed at a reasonable price i think.

Sadly a lot of die hard Black Metal fans feel that they have sold out, what they don't understand every band goes through a major change through out their career, This is how they keep being creative, some people don't understand that. Even our band we started in L.A. has been acused of being fake, some people take Black metal seriously.

Gosto desse album mas acho as orquestrações do puritanical melhores lá, principalmente hybrid stigmata, eu sinto que a mistura de música erudita e metal é mais homogênea nesse album e além disso acho que Mustis e Stian fazem falta pra caramba nos 2 últimos álbuns.
Abrahadadra e Eonion são apenas bons álbuns, agora vá ver a banda tocar esses álbuns live sem orquestra, é um lixo. Álbum bom é aquele que é bom em estúdio e também ao vivo.
