    Please don't tell me that the platform walls are going to be bare concrete. They'll be water stained in a few years like on the Sheppard line.

    • @djm5687
      @djm5687 3 года назад

      Fancy covered walls cost money. Since TTC doesn't want to significantly increase fares and deal with fare evasion, taxes will need to be increased even more in order to pay for fancy walls on subway stations.

    • @youbetcha6880
      @youbetcha6880 3 года назад +2

      @@djm5687 the cost of tiles is insignificant compared to the entire cost of the project . Look at how bad the Sheppard stations look. Or how the otherwise beautiful stations on the York extension will look. This is like buying a house and not getting furniture.

    • @djm5687
      @djm5687 3 года назад

      @@youbetcha6880 Concrete costs less to maintain. If neccessary, the concrete walls can be covered up at a later time. I doubt that anyone avoids public transit because of ugly walls.

      @@djm5687 Obviously nobody will not use it because of a lack of tiles. I have the ugliest kitchen that my landlord won't renovate, but I still use it. But having a nice-looking kitchen would make me so much happier.

    I drove the entirety of the line this week and it’s disheartening to see how far behind the project is. I live in the western most part so it feels like it’s almost finished here, but the central portion of the line looks like the west end 2-3 years ago. 😔

      from what ive seen kennedy, science center, keelesdale and mount dennis are the only near-complete underground stations. the rest are either holes in the ground or just got their skeletons built

    • @eurosoe
      @eurosoe 3 года назад +2

      @@Skyfoogle I agree. I had to drive my mom to a doctors appointment today and we drove past the stations Bathurst, Oakwood and Dufferin. With the exception of Bathurst, the skeleton at those stations were up and being worked on. This was a big improvement over what I saw last week. Once the station skeletons go up, it makes a bigger impact. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looks.

    Anyone know what's gonna happen to the 32 Eglinton West bus once Line 5 Eglinton opens? Will it end up looping between Mt. Dennis Stn & Renforth Stn? It wouldn't really make much sense to remain as is like the existing 85 Sheppard East bus & the Line 4 Subway. It probably wouldn't also make sense for the 34 Eglinton East bus to remain as is because the whole idea of the Eglinton Crosstown is to get from one part of Eglinton Avenue to the next more than 50% faster than existing bus service on both 32 & 34.

      @@Skyfoogle I'd rather have parking there than bikes lanes. Parking is helpful to the small businesses on Eglinton.
