On a Sunday, you were actually lucky on the bus. On a weekday that would have been a much much slower trip and the train would have been that much better.
Yeah it’s a pain I went to school in Vaughn so had to drive to Burlington to train to union, then Subway to Vaughn. Nothing about it was quick, unless you were running late and missing the train. 🤣🤣 it only comes to the falls twice a day and on weekends.
I went with a visiting friend during the week in July.. There was one morning train going to NF at 9am .. then if you ignore the train coming back from about 90 minutes after that first train arrives in NF there was only one train scheduled to come back at 9pm.
There are GO buses that run every hour that take you to Aldershot GO so you can take the train rest of the way back to Toronto and it costs the same, and about the same amount of time too
Hi Andriyas - thanks you just inspired me to take my 5 year old to the falls on the weekend. I'm genuinely surprised at the outcome. Doesn't the train get extra points for the extra leg room, washroom, and ability to get up and walk around? I think my daughter will get stir crazy on the bus. Curious your thoughts if you can share. Thanks again.
Hello there! Your comment really warmed my heart and I wish you and your daughter an amazing trip to the Falls! Just make sure to bring some warm jackets as it's getting quite cold and windy this time of year! I would say that indeed, if you are travelling with a child, taking that trip on a train would be more comfortable. Having a clean washroom on board and freedom to walk around is quite hard to beat. When I was making that video, I didn't quite think of traveling with kids (I was just by myself) so taking that trip via train will definitely work better for you!
@@andriyasredel Ohh yes we'll be dressed appropriately sir! Thanks for the thoughtful response. "daughter year old" I should re-read my own comment before completing. I am really not sure why you booked a different bus ticket when you could have used the same go digital pass to reach Union Station back. Besides to reach Falls from Niagara go station, it is recommended to take Uber (ONLY if the no of people is more than 2), the uber fare will be within $7 which is way cheaper than bus and convenient too.
I could have used the same GO pass to get back indeed! However, I took that GO bus back a few times and the stop is quiet far from downtown. I just didn't want to walk all that distance. Also, I wanted to compare a full train ride vs a full bus ride. That GO bus, at least every single time I took it back, goes to Burlington GO and then it switches to GO train. To your other point, yeah, I could have taken Uber from Niagara's GO station as well but again, that was not the point. The point was to use only public transit without relying on cars.

The people complaining about the quality of GO Transit clearly didn't grow up in Toronto. It's extremely impressive for North American standards. Some people just like to complain about everything.
10:49 technically that's the tourist area, the train dropped you off downtown NF, which is why it looked like that. Niagara Falls is an absolute dump outside the tourist area. GO bus is also better. Traffic between Niagara and Burlington usually isnt too bad, then Burlington to TO you take the train.
Is basically a tourist trap with the beautiful falls as a backdrop. I wouldn't call the food "mediocre"... you just need plan ahead because the good stuff is not in the epicenter of the trap that is Clifton Hill. There are plenty of things to do, including visiting the falls (walking, boating and journey under the falls.. I recommend all three), then there are the casinos, interactive shows at the old hydro plant, some decent craft beer and a lot if interesting cuisines to try (I recommend a sunset dinning at the Skylon tower and the Brazilian steakhouse). For kids and young adults there are plenty of attractions, including those at Clifton hill (there are plenty of arcades, haunted houses, wax museums with superheroes, Ripley's museum and the go-cart track), Marineland and the Butterfly conservatory. There are also plenty of seasonal attractions; in summer you have firework shows every day, and in winter they have fairly decent Christmas illuminations. I personally dislike the touristy vibe of that part of the town, and rather spend my time visiting Niagara-On-The-Lake and the nearby wine tours, but for those you definitively need a car.
i think the train might be better for me as if i was going to Niagara id probably want to take my bike /e bike with me just for convinces of travel. Then again only ever time iv gone to Niagara is to cross the boarder.
It's not a difficult walk to the falls from the NF train station. We're old (55-60) and did it in about 45 minutes for free...both ways. Should also mention VIA Rail is an option from Union Station to NF and return.

Imagine if Canada starts to invest into high speed rail. No need to take a plain or worry about traffic across the country. Just hit most of the major cities and you are good to go. People here really need to start pushing for this our country will be more accessible to everyone. Could also make it RIGHT and have level boarding. The GO is nice but no level boarding is really old school. Come on Canada make the country better to all. Canada can also put more money into dedicated bus lanes so you dont need to worry about traffic as much on a bus going from place to place. So sad to see our government does not take care of the people.
My wife and I just took a Eurostar from London to Paris and it took us just under 2.5 hours to cover more than 300kms... I made a video about it as well - ruclips.net/video/T8MnKyI-g2I/видео.html I honestly kept thinking about our train system here in Canada and how it doesn't compare at all to the European one...
The GO Train to Niagara is always packed and takes forever after Hamilton as Metrolinx doesn’t own the track and therefore is rundown. The WEGO buses are expensive for a day pass, and are unreliable. You can get stuck at a farther attraction for up to an hour as buses may short turn due to demand. It’s okay as a solution for tourists as they’ll take almost anything for any amount. Flixbus is great IF traffic is not bad. The QEW can become insanely backed up so regardless of if you choose Flixbus or the GO Bus, I prefer to take the train. The GO Bus makes a couple more stops along the way and depending on the day might have to transfer at another station, so it might be the same or slower than the train. I would like to mention that the comparison of the GO Train seats versus the FlixBus seats to not exactly be fair as they serve a different purpose. GO Transit is very much suburban transit, whereas FlixBus is a coach bus that happens to make a stop at Niagara Falls! Outside of the tourist areas, Niagara Falls is a pretty average, if not rundown Canadian town.
No tracks to the tourist area. and the GO station is in Downtown Niagara Falls. The Falls are actually the tourist area not Downtown. Try doing the trip during the Weekday. Traffic is a lot crazier. Bus would have taken twice as long.
Nice Video! I do think its a bit unfair because of the direction of the train vs. the bus, and also because you compared Flixbus to GO, even though GO has buses to Niagara. Also PLEASE don't use AI Thumbnails I beg you!
With your $10 day pass, your ticket would have covered your return trip. (Plus any hop-ons and hop-offs in other towns and cities you may have wanted to make along the way in either direction. For $15 you would have had unlimited travel anywhere that GO travels for the entire week-end. I agree that buses are more comfortable (Go train seat were designed, I think, to be uncomfortable, and boarding points for buses are more convenient, but nothing beats the economy of Go-Transit day and week-end passes for zipping around south-western Ontario. The bus didn't stand a chance. PLUS (!!!!) you can pay for Go transit with your Presto transit card, which will also work in other cities on the Presto network (I travel to Hamilton regularly and use my Presto card for Toronto Transit, for the train travel between cities, AND for Hamilton Transit). It is a regional convenience that is unrivaled. I don't believe a similar regional transit is available anywhere else in Canada (certainly not in Québec which is (currently) criminally underserved by regional rail service).
Absolutely fair comment! I would say that indeed GO's pricing and network is unbeatable when compared to something like Flixbus, however, in that specific instance of travel between Toronto and Niagara Falls, I just liked the bus a tad better. But totally agree with your points! :)
jees, i cant believe it takes 3hr 30 with the train and bus. its honestly annoying and frustrating how the go train has delays and other issues constantly .
Safeway Tours is the best option hands down. $50 round trip (with $40 casino play bonus given which is net cost of $10) Various pick up locations in the GTA and goes to Fallsview casino directly.
It's 127KMs from Union Station to Niagara Falls. Assuming you want to get there in an hour, you have to drive at a constant speed of 125 km/h. I don't think that's realistically possible, especially considering our current traffic conditions.
What is the point taking the bus or train to Niagara Falls Ontario when I am better off using my own car as an alternative? Forget the bus and train, stick to your own car as if I do!
@@grantboucher9342 You mean by the Locomotive which is not alway the front of the train. The Locomotive is always on the East side/North side of the train. That is how they are all set up. There is a cab on the other end of the train that they can control the movement of the train from.

@@andriyasredel That make sense. Nevertheless, I just enjoy your vides, if possible pls make travel videos on different provinces to such as Alberta, Quebec, British Columbia etc

The people complaining about the quality of GO Transit clearly didn't grow up in Toronto. It's extremely impressive for North American standards. Some people just like to complain about everything.
For what you pay, I think GO Transit provides a more than satisfactory experience.

What is it like in niagrea falls
@@matteolorenzobunag4314 the Falls are gorgeous, no doubt. Area around is a little underwhelming with mediocre restaurants and hotels
Its great as LONG as YOU ARE NOT here. Clown mass immigrant invaders not welcome in Niagara Region. F off.
We tried this route a few months ago and it was BUSY

Yeah, it's just on the weekends but Flixbus is more flexible and you will be able to catch one on weekdays as well!
@andriyasredel There are 3 trains a day 7 days a week, but they have all-day bus service from Burlington, GO, to Niagara Falls.
Taking the go train is so much faster
I made a video about it as well - ruclips.net/video/T8MnKyI-g2I/видео.html
I honestly kept thinking about our train system here in Canada and how it doesn't compare at all to the European one...
Yep, agreed!
NF badly needs trains going right into the tourist area.
The Falls are walkable from the VIA Rail station.
No tracks to the tourist area. and the GO station is in Downtown Niagara Falls. The Falls are actually the tourist area not Downtown. Try doing the trip during the Weekday. Traffic is a lot crazier. Bus would have taken twice as long.
@@FakeOrphanFMNOT. It is about an hour walk from the train station to Table Rock at the heart of the falls.

@@LetsTalkTransit good feedback, will incorporate it next time! Thank you 🙏🏻
With your $10 day pass, your ticket would have covered your return trip.

It's 127KMs from Union Station to Niagara Falls. Assuming you want to get there in an hour, you have to drive at a constant speed of 125 km/h. I don't think that's realistically possible, especially considering our current traffic conditions.
