- THIS EPISODE - With Firmware 1.1.1, RED gives Komodo-X new customizable User Pages. This really will make your top screen your favorite screen you use. I show you how to customize it all. Also, Over the air firmware updates!!!
Quick note, you can long press the soft buttons on the main screen to change them as well. Also, a sad note, this isn’t likely coming to Komodo OG. There just isn’t room in the firmware.

just in time!!! I bought a new Komodo X yesterday and scrolling in the menu I found USER PAGE, but there is no information in the Manual.

Sounds really useful, sadly I'm all set since I already use the amazing SmallHD Cine 7 with Camera Control on my Komodo (which doesn't have user pages to begin with).
Wow. This is great. It seems like the autofocus has been improved with this update as well. Bravo RED for making this a much more usable camera!!!
Loving these user pages Scott! However, I am trying to find a way to toggle between user pages and preview screen with a half-press button. Would love to see the ability to do so in a future firmware, although I know there is a preview option for one of the user page blocks, its not the same to me as having preview screen as default. Could you explain what the new "FN toggle" is for? I haven't been able to find an answer anywhere online. I'm thinking if it's a custom function then maybe I can set it to what I want here.
I appreciate your videos here. No one is doing this. By any chance do you know a way to show the image on either screen unaffected by the iso choice?
I'd love a user page that is video preview only. Bang in the middle of the screen - so when I use my hasselblad waist level finder the image I'm seeing is in the sharpest part of the optical viewfinder, with black bars top and bottom. Would be next level for my DIY evf setup
Nice! Scott, do you think the Frame Processing options present on DSMC2 are going to make a comeback on DSMC3? I'd love to be able to do even slower shutter speed time lapses like It was possible before.
I don't believe so. Mostly, they aren't needed anymore since the newer cameras are far more capable in low light. The slow shutter is a difficult one to implement so I'm not sure they will give us any slower shutter speeds either.
@@ScottBalkum I was saying more for the actual slow shutter speed effect on water and vegetation, not necessarily for better low light, I guess not many people have asked for it as also
I love this feature! Super curious if anyone else is noticing that "Peaking" doesn't seem to be an option in User pages. Is this a coming soon option. Seems so strange that they left it out.

Nice info, but how do we use the new top button modes? Specifically the “function” I assumed that meant we could map a function to the arrow and sel buttons but Im not seeing any way to do that once it’s toggled! I was up late last night trying to figure this out.
In my application the DMSC monitor covers the majority of the onboard screen. Can you use the user buttons on the DMSC monitor?
