speaking of valve cover gasket replacement, I changed my spark plugs and ignition coils all 6 of them and when they took them out they had alot of oil, but only later found out that it was cause I had a valve cover leak. Do you think I wasted money in replacing them ? i just replaced my valve cover / gasket. But im pretty sure if I take my spark plugs out and ignition coils theres gona be alot of oil residue :( do you think wiping them off would be good? or should I just replace the sparkplugs / ignition coils again
favorite channel on youtube right now. keep up the good work =]. just got a 15 335 n55. is the bavarian technic scan tool also compatible with that year?
Your first few lines, I could not agree more. Maintenance Before Modifications. You look like you're in CLE.. That's where I am from (originally). Nice car by the way...I have an 09 N54 sedan, black.
Awesome Videos, could you give me the Link to this awesome Maintainance Schedule sheed you are showing in your videos? I drive a N55 angine and want to fix everything possible before the tune. Tahnks!
This will sound weird, but is it normal for it to sound like it has a slight knock? I know how dumb that sounds, but every video I see of an N55, They sound like they have a knock to me, But they all seem to be "fine"
Might not be related to this video but storing my e60 n54 for the winter, what is a good float charger i can use while the car is not being used for 4,5 months
N54, the only engine that tries to commit suicide but can't. Valve Cover Cracks Fuel Injectors Leak Coils go Bad and fouled out plugs Eats Serpentine Belts Water Pump Dies Wastegates starts crying for help HPFP likes commit sudoku But I still love it
My coils are good no misfire I talked dielectric grease in , I'm gona tun it I changed all spark plugs for 1 step colder all oil etc Let's go for 450+ haha (e85 power)
This is my favorite video you have done. Great job. I have a sweet 335i if you re interested. I want to get the 650i now. Mine is "meticulously" maintained with all new shocks and struts and....Bushings. New water pump. Jb4 with meth. New window moldings. Etc.
So I just got my 2011 328i few weeks ago. My first BMW. About 55k on it. Thinking of changing spark plugs and coils now. Or should I wait a little bit longer. Car runs well. No errors, dealer changed the oil before I took it. Everything else seems stock.
Marionel Salazar Plugs are actually rated to 100k on that model (I have the same). If you’re doing ok with no codes, wait it out till at least 80k and then consider changing it with the coils (since you’re there). Otherwise just enjoy and wait to see if PCB recall includes the valve cover.
J. Nakayama thanks man! Yeah so far everything is running well! So I’ll wait a little more. Might just change the filters and some cosmetic stuff for now.
Jose Rea I would swap the coil and plug from cylinder 4 with number 1 and see if the fault follows. 1 is the front cylinder looking from the front of the car and 6 is the one furthest from the front. You also might have a different issue maybe the electrical connection to the coil.
My car has three different lights on the engine light the brake light and the DTC light on and it went on limp mode this last weekend what are the causes of that and this is easy to fix on my own
Efrain Rodriguez first step is to get a quality scan tool. When you are shopping for a scan tool make sure it obviously can read your BMW. I would go ahead and invest in one that can clear all fault codes including airbags DTC and the like. I have a C reader brand and love mine.
Some dealers don’t care about a tune with warranty work, while others will void it in a second. It’s a guessing game for sure. Always best to take off the tune prior to going in to be safe.

my stock charge pipe blew up on stock boost
Same lol
Just bought a F30 335 with 44k miles. Charge pipe blew 2 days later stock boost
I got lucky. Mine disintegrated while replacing it.
Curious, does your neighbor across the street have a "heated" driveway?
Larry Cherrin he doesn’t, but always shovels and salts no matter what lol
Where’d you get that scheduled maintenance list for your N54 at 5:27? I’d love to have something like that for my N51.
Waiting on ur DIY valve cover gasket replacement video.. I need to replace mine
ramin barai Trying make time for that one 😀
Wendy's but BMW fanatic make it more helpful
ramin barai Video is live if you haven’t seen it yet 😀

Liked seeing how you used the extension to lift up on the coil pack....slick!
Bama Bimmer Little trick there 😀

MAINTENANCE IS KEY!!!
kevin Always!
Why you have open air intake? isn't that gonna suck all the hot air?
This will sound weird, but is it normal for it to sound like it has a slight knock? I know how dumb that sounds, but every video I see of an N55, They sound like they have a knock to me, But they all seem to be "fine"
Weather changes quickly were you live 😂
Tnx for the info again 👍
deejay that it does! Hate it lol

Hello!

lisa stewart yesss me toooo!!!!
N54, the only engine that tries to commit suicide but can't.
Valve Cover Cracks
Fuel Injectors Leak
Coils go Bad and fouled out plugs
Eats Serpentine Belts
Water Pump Dies
Wastegates starts crying for help
HPFP likes commit sudoku
But I still love it
What brand of ignition coil would you recommend for a stock 2011 335i e90
My coils are good no misfire I talked dielectric grease in , I'm gona tun it I changed all spark plugs for 1 step colder all oil etc

Besides the Charge Pipe, what about stronger vacuum hoses, coolant hoses, etc.
Great tips for bimmer ownership! 👍🏼
What about corrosion protection? Do you do anything to protect against rust?
Niknod I believe it’s 8 years
This video makes me want to sell my 335i
No mention of intake valve blasting?
Which coder reads airbag and light bulb codes ?
Good stuff. Thanks!

Nel Salazar my advice is trade that in for a 335i
I got my water pump replaced at 62k miles
same mine was replaced at 60k
What does it mean if my BMW 328i keep misfiring after I change the spark plugs and coils??
Jose Rea Do you have a “check engine” light on? If so maybe get a code reading to see what’s up?
Yeah I would be seeing what all codes you have and then further diagnose the issues with a proper BMW spec scan tool
Yes I check with a scanner and it shows misfires on cylinder 4
Thank you guys for a reply!
Jose Rea I would swap the coil and plug from cylinder 4 with number 1 and see if the fault follows. 1 is the front cylinder looking from the front of the car and 6 is the one furthest from the front. You also might have a different issue maybe the electrical connection to the coil.
Is yours a 6 speed
Auto
Does same apply to Alpina b3s with same engine? Or did they already improved some of the common weak points on n54?
My car has three different lights on the engine light the brake light and the DTC light on and it went on limp mode this last weekend what are the causes of that and this is easy to fix on my own

First step is dont drive it. And find what is wrong asap.
Music is fire
Gains Chuki Beats 👌🏻
guys change your coolant flange to aluminum I guarantee your old flange is broken
Fanatic? Looks like you've got a garage but you left your BMW out and it got snowed on. What's up with that?
Vacuum lines
How to solve N54 problems.
*Proceeds to remove N54 for LS swap* 😂
Ew, what a fucking downgrade
1:30 That looks like N54, mine is N55 and Spark Plugs + Coils are ALL OVER
Yes he clearly said that his was a n54
Warranty money is worthless...for tuners. Any tune will void warranty anyway.
Not true. Mine is tuned and my warranty has replaced oil pan gasket, transfer case, and more, and I have 25,000 miles left on it.
It’s an ‘07 335xi
So long as the repair has nothing to do with the tune. We speak of repairs needed due to direct relation to the tune.
Some dealers don’t care about a tune with warranty work, while others will void it in a second. It’s a guessing game for sure. Always best to take off the tune prior to going in to be safe.
👍👌💪
Yawn
Literally screw this engine. Take that 2k invest it. What do you do if car breaks? It won't because you were smart and didn't buy a damn n54-55
The engine itself is great, just everything around it breaks lol
