When the warriors are not firing on all cylinders it’s Livingston time to limit turnovers and make easy buckets. It’s almost automatic. We are lucky to have him he can easily command a starting role and starting PG money anywhere else
Lol. I'm already ABUSING the D every time they send a short defender to guard him. Posting him to death 🤣🤣 his spin move at the post is indeed really effective
Thanks for making this video. Before the injury he was already good and ppl seem to forget that how important his leadership and guidance is to that warriors team
Yesss thank you for picking Shaun Livingston I admire his game every time I catch the warriors. He’s always solid and makes the best decisions for the squad when out there.
Love this guy's game. For a guy who has close to no 3 pt shot, he moves very well off the ball and fits well within a motion offense. I also believe if he didn't suffer so many early injuries, he could've ended up a penny hardaway 2.0
He's quite a rare player. Very long for his natural position, super high release on his shot, exceptional handle and playmaking and all his scoring comes from in the paint or very close to the paint.
Basically just Livingston and Iguodala were the main bench contributors as everyone else on the second unit has been shipped off to different teams or retired.
The_Real_BruceWayne disagree, they GSW trained Cook, Clark, McCaw, Bell, McGee, and Looney quite nicely too put up necessary points in crunch time games. While Livingston, Iggy, David Lee, Nick Young, David West and Barbosa were used amazingly well to be put in there best play styles as starters to second stingers.
@@FenixReZ 2nd unit is monumental and they've had some good players but if they were worth the while then they would still be on the team. I say Andre and Livingston are the main contributors because they are the only bench guys who remain with the team since like 2015.
Glad I've finally found a recent video to congratulate your channel and give you props for these wonderful breakdowns, keep up the great work, and peace from Mexico, also a hooper country
The warriors bench is better than anyone think. Cook-PG Livingston- SG/SF Iguodala-SF Bell-PF And that Center i forgot his name. Their bench is made for defense only.
I’d def put him on my all time team past my all time starting 5. He and Iggy. Love and miss this dude being with the Warriors. Wish they would have won last year and brought him back along with KD and Iggy. But it was a awesome ride/run to watch and enjoy seeing Livingston win 3 rings despite the beginning of his career with horrible injuries.
You should do Gilbert Arenas.. he was a killer back with the Warriors, Wizards and Clippers. He was one of the best scoring guards the league has ever seen.
At first glance he doesn't appear to be quite like Kevin Durant. He leans a bit more toward Kobe Bryant's style. His mid-range shooting doesn't have the long back-flop of arms over the head. Instead his hands & ball just goes straight up like most of the good outside shooters. I'd say his fade-away benefits from that simplicity of his shot. There's very little arm movement (see @ 2:55). He and KD are a lot less frenetic than Reggie Miller! His back-to-the-basket spin moves aren't all that impressive, but his jumper or fade-away make it effective anyway. His passing is top-notch & fun to watch.
The thing is, he conditioned himself TO BE a mid range player. With that high a release along with his fading athleticism there was no chance he'd be able to develop a three point shot. However he fits the requirements for the dream midrange shooter. A true roll player, deserves to have his jersey retired. He's definitely the x factor.
I mean he's a role player with top guard's skill sets and court vision. It's not quite fair to compare other real role players to him. Don't forget he had been expected to be HoF even in his early career before that dreadful injury
You can make a living in the NBA if one can constantly hit mid range jumpers. It's the ultimate bailout position when game is tight and need a bucket. Plus you're usually on an island. Defense usually out in the perimeter or in the center position.
If it wasn’t for Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala I really doubt the Warriors become what they have. If you think about it. The “Hamptons 5” are amazing but the bench is what really separates the Dubs from the rest of the league and having two actual superstars accepting bench roles was an amazing think Kerr pulled off
Livingston is underrated and slept on, real talk.
Facts bro
When the warriors are not firing on all cylinders it’s Livingston time to limit turnovers and make easy buckets. It’s almost automatic. We are lucky to have him he can easily command a starting role and starting PG money anywhere else
His midrange is beautiful 🔥
They need to put some respect on his post fade on 2k
Carlos Garcia true. Shaun Livingston has a good post up game and a mid range game.
Lol. I'm already ABUSING the D every time they send a short defender to guard him. Posting him to death 🤣🤣 his spin move at the post is indeed really effective
Shawn Livingston, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, all are listed 6'7. But they're all different positions. That's rare but unique
Mrgoodkenneth
Speaks to their defensive versatility and why the warriors are the best team at switching 1-5 with livingston on the court

Shaun Livingston has the best injury comeback in basketball history
You can put PG13 on that list as well
or human highlight reel
McMiktasic #1 dominique
Anthony Davis yeah saw the documentary on this channel. both Livingston and Wilkins recovered miracculously
@@cmc2480 right, people don't talk about PG comeback that often but it's crazy how well he recovered

I appreciate this video because every superstar needs a sidekick. Great video. We have too many self oriented players instead of team oriented
Finally someone gives him credits. I always enjoy to see Livingston playing, his field vision and accurate pass always amaze me.

I've always thought that he could be Penny 2.0 as well.
Penny 2.0 without a 3pts
So true. He has very high basketball awareness and iq
i believe shaun can knock some 3's
just not his role tho'
He was better than Penny.
One of the best ever to use the mid range jumper. 💯🔥
Anthony Evans Lmao I like the guy but no
@@alvinlee1697 he absolutely did! He was also a great defender and one of the best passers this game has ever seen.
Has a role and plays it incerdibly well and consistent. Couldn't ask for anything else
Love Livingston's game, man. He has that deadly mid range.
Warriors got very lucky picking him up and convincing him to come off the bench.
He's quite a rare player. Very long for his natural position, super high release on his shot, exceptional handle and playmaking and all his scoring comes from in the paint or very close to the paint.
This dude better than some starting point guards in the league. One of the reasons the Warriors are so good - quality bench players.
Basically just Livingston and Iguodala were the main bench contributors as everyone else on the second unit has been shipped off to different teams or retired.

The_Real_BruceWayne you’re not wrong there but Looney has been there for awhile now. I hope the team gets more sustainable players
In 2015 and 16 i would agree but at this point hes strictly a solid bench guy
Low key one of my all time favs

Watch him play is a real enjoyment

S Dot is silky smooth cash money every time he touches the rock. Old school playa. Legend.

Props on this amazing production
You might not see this but can you please do Joe Johnson? His iso game is nasty but the way he uses his body is even nastier
I've never seen this dude miss a mid range shot no cap.

Who came afrer he decided retiring?
Livingston is as bad, bad man.
Joel embiid plz
hes a good player but I’m not exactly sure what makes him a point guard. he plays like a straight up SF
His ability to run the offense, make plays, and his leadership the skills that make anyone a point guard.
He has a an mj/Kobe generic fade away 💦
Generic?
