Could Shaun have developed into what was expected had he not get injured? Is his injury the worst you've seen in the league. Personally his and Gordon Hayward's to me. Salute to him for coming back and making a career out of it though. Solid.

I don’t believe he would have been what was expected but I do feel like he would have at least been a multiple all star caliber player. Also for me it’s definitely him George and Bogut that were the worst I’ve witnessed live. Hayward was bad as well but those 3 to me just looked awful/career ending.

@@stuntedgrowth random story, at ucla back in 2003, they had high school showcase. Lebrons high school team played along with several high school teams. The last game featured Telfairs team. I will say that I distinctly remember that although the arena was filled up because of lebron, Telfair was the one that stood out to me and my fellow teammates and the whole arena the most because of his crazy handles and his jumper that game was unstoppable. It was one game of course, but his jumper was like Currys they night and he had several memorable crossovers as he was just having fun embarrassing the other team. As I continued following his career, he never met those initial expectations of when I saw him that first game. All this to say that I believe one crazy game and give a player ALOT of hype and analyst love throwing around the word potential. Well, Telfair certainly had a lot of potential based off that one game I saw in person. But in the end, he was all hype.

As Vic the Brick noted about 20 years ago, you can rearrange the letters of Clippers and spell Cripples. Minimal training staff, facilities, etc.. Always followed the Clippers being in LA and wanted good players on the team but always felt sorry for guys getting drafted by them at the same time.

Nothing but respect for Shaun, given what he went through. The fact that he came back and was an important player on three title teams says so much about his character and work ethic. I'm a UNC fan, but I do wonder if it would've helped him to go to Duke, even if it was only for a year. He definitely would've worked on his body while there, and maybe that would've prepared him for the grind that is the NBA. But. these three stunts are dead on...he never developed three point range, but maybe if he developed his midrange game earlier, he could've been more of an offensive threat. I remember during his early clippers days, teams barely even guarded him in the half court because he was basically no threat on offense. All that said, SO happy that he was able to have a solid career and make it all the way back from that horrific injury. Just because of that, I would say his career was a success

Also Harden could’ve probably at least took one ring if the warriors dynasty wasn’t in the way or If he played in the weaker eastern conference between 2015-2018/19 ish. He still was underwhelming but imo prime Harden could easily be a championship calliber player in an alternate reality.

Idk about him skipping college caused him to have that injury, he only played 145 games and less then 4k NBA minutes before his injury. I think if anything training/developing under pro level coaches and trainers probably helped him develop his game/body better then with college trainer/coaches, its not like he suffered multiple injuries over his first 3 years getting abused physically by stronger NBA players. Sad reality is he suffered a freak non-contact injury at 22years old that same injury could have happened going straight from HS or after 1 or 2 in college or after a full 4 year college career, what if he suffered an injury like that in college and then never got a chance in the leauge and with out the financial security of having his first NBA contract which I imagine allowed him to focus on rehabbing, etc I just don't see it its really hard to tell these young guys who have spent their entire lives working on get to the league to no take the security of getting even a rookie nba contract, Livingston's rookie deal still guaranteed him 14Million, who know if he suffers that injury in college he might have wound up in huge medical debate instead of at least having a few million if god forbid he never made an NBA return, also maybe the higher level training and development he got in those early years is what allowed him to shine in those later run in GS, sad situation tho obviously he had a ton of potential could see him developing into a shai-gilgeous alexander like player a decade earlier.
