I huge tip for you and your subscribers, With any and all spare money you have, Go to Coin shops and such and buy up as many 1965 and older Dimes, Quarters, Halfs and whole silver $ coins because the value of silver is going to skyrocket into the tens of thousands per ounce very soon, Gold is going to go up over 100k per ounce as well.
Love see this. So cool to find. Things. That first find I feel is an old coffee pot. They were metal, most would loose the bottom with the heat and grinds.
Prayers and thoughts for you and your boyfriend and your families please stay safe and take care off your dog 🐶 bite love your Aussie friend John ❤❤❤please pray for me as I am really really struggling with my thoughts and anxiety and mental health issues
That old truck may be something someone would want to buy. Washouts are good spots for native artifacts and setting the detector to metals like gold and silver would work best around the spots like old buildings for coins. Being you have the tools now try looking for coins ( gold and silver ) creeks and such are the best bet for arrowheads and tools of stone. Erosion on banks will be washout spots. Happy hunting
Yup. That is where the term Tying the Knot came from. Some friends or family would sneak into the bedroom and untie the string of the mattress springs and the couple would fall through onto the floor bed and all. Smart couples knew this and check the bed before a night of fun. If they saw what their friends and family had done... They'd be tying the knots...
Just a couple of tips, first your pinpoiter holster is upside down and second the coil wire on the detector needs to be coiled around the the pole so it doesn't flop around. I think you can find some cool relics on that property. Good luck!
Hello Heidi Here are a few tips for metal detecting that I have discovered with my Equinox 800 in forest areas around old campfire rings. Many coins right behind old logs next to the campsites (seats), and around large trees or low limbs easy to sit on or around large rocks used for seats. If you find a pile of rocks this could be a marker for something hidden. Alot of the old timers did not trust banks so they would put a nail in a tree limb, attach a string with a weight just above the ground and bury their money in a mason jar and remove the string and leave the nail for future locating. Also they would put a stash below a fence post that was slightly longer or shorter than the rest of the fence line. Good Luck! Happy Hunting!
Practice at home. Take a handful of different coins pennies (copper), older quarters (silver), a gold ring, etc and toss them on your yard and practice learning the numbers. Also bury them to learn depth. Find old foundations in the woods that were old homesteads. You'll find pins, buttons, a few old coins. It's practice to know your detector and then find better spots
Really enjoy watching this treasure hunting video Heidi. Just think, every beep of your detector or pointer could be that unbelievable treasure that one always wishes for. You are definitely in a great area of the country for historical treasures. Please make some more of these videos for us when possible. God Bless young lady! 🤗🙏🙂
Howdy Heidi That big piece of metal you found, just before you showed the truck. That's a harmonic balancer for an engine. The smaller metal ring you found next is a bearing race, probably from an old rear end. That blue jar was a Vick's Vaporub jar. I really enjoyed this video, looking forward to more! Enjoy what you're doing little lady, you're awesome at it!!
Hey there! Nice video! I enjoy the hobby of metal detecting, and do quite a bit of detecting in central Texas when I have time. You asked for tips, so I have a few for you. First off, when you go detecting, a rule of thumb is that you’re going to dig up a lot of junk and pop tops and stuff, but you have to dig the junk to find the good stuff so dig all of it. Second, it’s a pin pointer, not a wand. Lol. Also you may want to wrap your cord around the shaft of your detector not too tight by where it goes into the coil, but no too tight. It will help when you are hunting in brushy areas so the cord doesn’t get caught up in the weeds or brush and give false signals. And the third tip is to not get discouraged, keep on hunting and you will find something really cool around where your hunting around those old barns. You have a great place to hunt and dig! Also you may want to read the manual on your detector and see how to ground balance your detector. That helps quite a bit if you’re hunting in different areas due to the different kinds of soil or ground your hunting over. I really liked the old Ford hubcap you found, that was cool! Great video and cool finds! Definitely get some more treasure hunting videos and let’s see what all you find!
Please, more metal detecting! I have always had metal detecting fantasies...out here in AZ you can find gold in the desert. Also, I want to see that old barn and a better shot of the old truck! I have ancestors that lived in your county, long long ago... Ancestors strewn all around Va. and N.C. so it's somehow nostalgic.
The best way to find the best places to dig here in VA is to wait for the butter cups to start blooming. Ride your property and look for them, and the Lilly of the valley, which bloom a little later. They were planted around the old homesteads and show you where the homes were many years ago. Good Luck!
That's a Hubcap from an old Ford Pickup Truck... Probably left behind by one of the early American Colonists or ancient Indians that used to inhabit the area, like 250 years ago...😂
Mattress spring, probably an old railroad spike maybe (the coolest), hub cap, old cast iron pot spout,...fun stuff. Maybe some day you'll find a golden broach :) I hope you have more fun digging and finding hidden treasure. Woo-hoo!!!
@@LilRedHeidiHood Great! You probably won't find old treasures but newer jewelry and coins. Hopefully you find something valuable that you can get back to the owner. That would be a cool story here. 👍😊
You could also take it out to the fishin pond, @@LilRedHeidiHood and see how many old lures and hooks you can recover. LOL Who knows what else you might find around that water-hole.
That was pretty cool. I think you should do more searching. The first pot maybe you could make a planter out of it. The coil thingy was an old bed spring. Clean the hubcap up and hang it inside your shed. Stay well and warm.
Welcome to the Detecting family..LOL.. The Garrett Carrot is a great tool for honing in on targets. Meatal Detecting is a great Mental Help and great source of exercise. The Old truck is awesome. The hubcap that said Ford could belong to the truck. Just some tips - Your cord needs to be wrapped around the pole to help remove false reads. Also, Swing left to right same height off ground. Most detectors work best with continuous movement. Just some friendly pointers. Awesome Video.
Try detecting around the farmhouse. You are more likely to find old coins there and less likely to find iron scraps. Try to learn the different signals/tone that your detector gives with various types of metal. That can save you from digging endless nails. However, a big chunk of iron often sounds like a coin. Good Luck!

The heavy round metal piece in front of the truck I believe was a harmonic balance off a motor. The spike is either a railroad spike or maybe used in the barn build. The last thick round ring looked like a bearing race. Others may agree

Good morning , I believe you now own bed springs, cast iron tank,a Ford hub cap,a piece of tin,a piece of aluminum or chrome ,a shell casing Ketchup might get the rust off ,might. The large bowl looking piece of metal either a bearing housing or drum brake. Hard to tell size on that one. Oh Blue jar might be Vicks jar , but back in the day everything , especially make up products were all in blue jars. I am sure during your hunts your going to find a lot of moonshine paraphernalia here and there. Enjoy 😁
10:53 Inner support coil for cabin’s heater core intake hose, might belongs to a sort of heavy duty truck? I probably could point to Hummer-HMMWV H1, or either it might belong for 2-ton/5-ton wrecker/cargo truck, or perhaps to electric generator hoses and exhaust manifolds…
Was thinking about the old pickup truck. Cleaning it out of the overgrowth. It could be painted and used for yard decor. Put pumpkins and corn stalks in back bed in fall, wreaths, garland and such at Christmas and a flower bed in the back in spring thru summer. Just a thought.
vinegar and hydogen peroxide mix deluted with water is the best mix to use on cleanning your finds. Looks like lots of fun! The stuff your finding and the age indicates some really nice coinage surely some silvers are hiding in the dirt. Your on your way of the learning curve . May all your finds be golden!
I'm starting to hunt old homesteads here in TN. It is fun and gets you out and enjoying the finds and persevering history at the same time cleaning up some old junk. Love your Dad's take on some of your finds. Happy hunting it does get addictive
I haven't read all the comments yet but i think its an old private dump. The spring thing is from a mattress. That's a railroad spike. smashed in Hubcap for a Model A Ford. 1927 to 1931. I enjoyed the video. Your innocence is refreshing.
Hay Good to see you Back Heidi!!!! Sorry about the Dog Bite next time you want to get a Bone from your dog get a spray Bottle and fill it up cold Water and spray in his face!! hope it Works.Glad to see you BACK!!!!! Luv. Brent Gordon of Canada☹🐕🌹
The spout is from a water pot used on fireplaces to create steam for the room. Puts water vapor in the environment of a room, so the air will be humidified. The ford part is a baby moon hubcap.
The upside down pinpointer/wand case was the cutest thing☺️,..& also yes,..I would stay away from muddy wet areas..that’s a good way to lose a boot or two. Awesome video though..detecting takes practice,..but you’re already finding great things..I especially loved the spike. I hope you continue to make more videos I’m an avid detectorist,..and I love watching other people finding things,..it’s a very exciting hobby!..I loved that your wand is a name brand(probably the best of them all)…The last tip that I will offer today is to get yourself some gloves, I personally like ones with the rubber in the palms($12 for a 3 pack)..the elements of detecting can really take a toll on the hands. Rare to find someone so attractive who likes detecting. And you’re correct,..it’s a pretty aggressive workout, especially if you’re serious about it. 👍🏽..Great job🙂
Hey kiddo you need to unscrew the coil plug from the back of the control head. Then make a few wraps of the coil wire around the shaft. Leaving enough slack to plug it back in. You don’t want the coil WIRE hanging around the coil. Oh and you have the pinpointed holster is upside down, you wouldn’t wear your pistol like that. You will dig 90% junk but the 10% will be habit forming. Always nice to see you doing anything. You are a young lady with an old sole and that’s a good thing to be.
@ 15:00 looks like a brake drum. like the one on that auto frame you showed later. we're interested in so many similar things heidi. hunting fishing, exploring, treasure hunting, cooking and remodeling. a perfect match! lol
Heidi I loved the video !! About 50 years ago I bought a metal detector and was hooked on it. I detected off and on for many years and loved it. I can't walk very well these days and I can't do it any more. I haven't been able to for quite a few years. If I was able I would do it NOW !!! By the way...the metal detector I bought 50 years ago, I still have and it still works just fine !! Love and peace from Oregon.
Hi Heidi the metal loops were probably a spring from a mattress like the one that burned in the farmhouse ..... still in my all time scariest Lil red videos. This was a great outdoor adventure God bless and see you all in the next one.
Yes, more treasure hunting. Also when you go to your beach location. People always lose stuff at the beach. I found an old sneaker in the sand that had a Seiko 5 watch stuffed into the toe. After a tear down and clean it came back to life. I have found rings and a few necklaces. You should be finding old musket balls at your farm.
Another awesome video Heidi. That one thing ya found the curly piece of wire ring and string on it looked like springs out of old bed mattress. That was definitely a Ford hub cap like ya dad said. Thanks 👍
The blue bottle looked like a Vicks Vapor Rub bottle and the two broken springs were definitely from an active bed spring mattress. This was a funny episode.
Your dog reminded me of my chocolate lab when we were checking out hunting areas. Found a mud hole and laid in it. What a mess. Nice to see you into metal detecting. It does get addicting. Good thinking of checking out that drainage area. A few tips: Turn your holster for the pinpointer the other way so it can't slide out; put it in from the top of your belt. Wrap your coil wire around the shaft of the detector, that cuts down of false hits. Turn your pinpointer sensitivity down one notch (it's in the manual), you have a lot of clay there from the looks of the dirt and that leads to false readings. And always pack out the junk. Happy hunting!!
You aren't quite using the Garrett 'carrot' pinpointer correctly, you have thhe right udea, but, it's not to pinpoint where to dig, your big detector does that, it's used to pinpoint as you dig. It's so you can see if the item is still in the hole, where in the hole, in the dirt pile you dug out, and so on. It comes in real handy for smaller finds like coins, rings etc, because you can pinpoint exactly where to continue digging in the hole, or if the item is in the dirt pile. Its meant to be used with a smaller trowel type digging tool. Basically, you get a hit with your big detector. You dig out a scoop of dirt with your big shovel. Then you get down with your small shovel and pinpointer to find the item. It's a great hobby, and that old farm I'm sure has tons of goodies in the ground! Look around the house where you think a clothesline may have been, or a tire/rope swing, bench, seating areas, all great spots for finding coins.
You may want to wrap your coil wire around the shaft of the detector and then plug it in...the swinging wire can make your detector give you false signals. If I were you I'd be trying around the house for small, repeatable signals that make sounds swinging from all directions. There's gotta be some old silver coins in that yard.
From over here in Bluff City, it was a fun vid. You were out of your comfort zone and let's face it, we learn more about who we are when we venture out of our comfort zone. So I vote, keep on keeping on. Besides, its fun watching you dig, cutest digger I've seen in years! It was fun, and yes, knowing what stuff is is really not your strength but then hey, that is how you learn!
Hey Heidi.... buy yourself a minelab equinox or a vanquish that will work a lot better around all that iron rubbish. With your detector it don’t give an iron signal so it’s hard to differentiate between the targets... the Ford hub cap was pretty sweet!!! hope that helps x
I think you may have discovered an old private trash dump. Back in the days before public landfills, landowners would set aside small plots, usually in the woods, where they would dump their household trash.
The coils were from a mattress . The large round part looked like an auto AC clutch hub . The round ring is an outer bearing race . The round crushed part with the ford logo is a hub cap for the wheels ... Fun finds ...
Hey there Heidi, This is something new for you, awesome. I do the underwater detecting and I also have that same detector you have there. Awesome little entry level detector and I have found heaps of things. Try around the old homestead, front stairs and rear stairs, under old windows as back in the day they had no washing machines and the men usually just hung their strides out an open window and some time coins would be flung out of their pockets and into the grass. Under old outdoor clothes hoists etc. Good luck mate and enjoy this mad crazy hobby we love so much, as you just dont know what lays just under the ground just waiting to be dug up and recovered. Cheers Brad
Heidi sweetie, at the barn the spike you found appears to be an old survey marker. The next item is a bearing race, and the final item is a hub cap, probably from the dually. You didn't show the front of the truck so I wasn't able to identify it for sure... As always, BIG HUGS from Tennessee!
I remember a friend who was a “treasure hunter” that around farm houses if you find where the out house used to be, you could find old whiskey bottles. He said if you found that spot by probing and finding softer soil, that was where the out house “hole” used to be and it was not uncommon for the men to keep their whiskey there and when done with the bottle they would throw them down the hole.
So adorable she is like Ariel from the original little mermaid …what’s this thing called a thingamabob lol love her honest wholesome attitude. God bless and protect her always
Thanks for sharing the video. Looks like old mattress springs. Spike was probably used on a spike tooth harrow behind horses or mules. Love seeing your Dad and hearing tell you it's a hub cap. Hope you find some good stuff soon.
Oh that is cool. I just put new batteries in my gold 1000 metal detector. Down to the river soon. lots of floods last year in BC that uncovers the gold. Happy hunting. go for the good stuff. You make it look like fun. Blessings
I believe the pot might be an old cast iron tea kettle, the coil and retention ring is most likey from old bed springs. Even back in the 60's we had a mattress and the coiled springs was separated. The coil springs wasn't covered with anything. The flat shiny metal, I have no idea what is could be but it appears to be made out of stainless steel, so it could be part of a old stainless steel butchering table, similar to modern day, restaurant kitchen tables. However, not all moonshining equipment was copper, some were made out of stainless steel too, so it could be part of a lid on the kettle. And any blue glass is old, even collectable and sold at auctions. I would have it appraised.
Hey, been detecting for 20 + yrs, old farm areas, folks used to bury silver coins in jars- containers , check them finds real good Looked like box springs- mattress, the wand thingy, looks like a Garrett Carot( metal detector Co), I’ve got a minelab one Who knows what was there100 yrs ago, you gotta dig a lot of dirt before you find the gold, Best~Regards,,,,PS soak old coins and similar in white vinegar, it will clean them real good,,,….Ford, center cap on wheel, carry a gun too👍🏻 Indian area, spooky ville
That's some really old stuff..that spike anyway..hand forged..looks kinda like a big tent stake or a big stake maybe to chain a farm animal..very cool finds!!!!
my father metal detected for years. he loved it, great exercise. some places he liked to hunt where fairgrounds, church groves, drive ins, and swimming areas at local ponds and lakes. hope you have as much fun as he did. good luck in future hunts.
if you want to make digging a little easier, look up Lesche Sampson 31 Inch T-Handle shovel and a Lesche Digging Knife Right Serrated Blade, I love these two tools, I wrapped my T-handle in leather , not as cold in winter time digging, keep on digging !!!!
That car part looks like a crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer, and the last two were a bearing race, and that banged up chrome disc is a Ford center cab/hubcap. Likely from a 50’s Ford. 😊 The spikes were used for railroad ties, but also made great tent stakes!
It's a hub cap Red! Looks to be kind of flattened. You'll be busy on that old farm with your metal detector. Vinegar will eat corrosion too, not sure how long to leave it in there though. Have fun be safe!
Loved the Treasure hunting video please do more. That find before the hubcap was a vampire spike... Just kidding, looked like a large railroad spike. You need to learn your detector put a copper penny down and silver and gold, & brass and learn what the meter indicates and concentrate on those signals, or you'll be digging farm iron crap until the cows come home. You look so good; make-up was perfect looks like the dating life has put smiles on your face. Keep up the cool videos, maybe you'll finds some cool old coins.
Lol your dads awesome!I would love to treasure hunt with you.if your ever going to look for gold going to want to get a more expensive detector, but it's a start for just finding junk.
There should be some old coins near that broken down house/barn. We found a bunch of old pennies, nickels and silver dimes at my mom's old wreck of a house in Maui.

I think those were old bed or mattress springs. The separate coils were usually tied together with strings to stabilize the coils.
They used those springs on old rocking chairs too

When the pup goes "cliff diving" in the woods!! ❤️
Having just found your channel, I have so many videos to watch and catch up on. You videos make me smile.
vinegar and hydogen peroxide mix deluted with water is the best mix to use on cleanning your finds.
If you want to find diamond , gold rings , go to a well known beach , when it an't crowded , you can find great jewelry
I love relic hunting! Your so lucky to have such a great spot as your back yard.
Такая забавная,милая,веселая и очень целеустремлённая,трудолюбивая красотка.
I’m So Glad Your Enjoying A New Hobby!! ❤️😘✝️
Hiya Kelly, that kettle you found is worth good money, it's cast iron.
Awesome video!
I hope you have a awesome blessed day.
Cya! 😺🐟 out!
Good luck treasure hunting Heidi
I found lots of old bullet casings old food and drink cans! Lol😂 I still had so much fun doing it!❤ like you did!
Wow, such a great find. Thanks for sharing.
I hope you and your mom and dad any critters are all doing well it's nice to see you out n about x
You may want to wrap your coil wire around the shaft of the detector and then plug it in...the swinging wire can make your detector give you false signals. If I were you I'd be trying around the house for small, repeatable signals that make sounds swinging from all directions. There's gotta be some old silver coins in that yard.
That was a fun one. I think that spike is part of a harrow. I have some that came from a row of spikes in wood.
Awesome!
Привет кладоискателю !!!)))) Удачных находок !!!! На остров сокровищ надо ехать ))))
She is truly the real treasure. Gorgeous 😊
The Ford piece is a aluminum hub cap that fits on a wheel. That is a cool find!!!
Собака весёлая! Желаю найти горшок с золотом! Выздоравливай!
Cheers
Brad
Maybe bring a brush and a broom next time? There might be something precious underground that needs to be handled with care.😆
Dogs are so funny !!😂
Hey, been detecting for 20 + yrs, old farm areas, folks used to bury silver coins in jars- containers , check them finds real good
Looked like box springs- mattress, the wand thingy, looks like a Garrett Carot( metal detector Co), I’ve got a minelab one
Who knows what was there100 yrs ago, you gotta dig a lot of dirt before you find the gold, Best~Regards,,,,PS soak old coins and similar in white vinegar, it will clean them real good,,,….Ford, center cap on wheel, carry a gun too👍🏻 Indian area, spooky ville
Happy hunting , finding junk is the beauty of it cause it’s not junk but your hooked, look forward to seeing more videos
That's some really old stuff..that spike anyway..hand forged..looks kinda like a big tent stake or a big stake maybe to chain a farm animal..very cool finds!!!!
VERY COOL HOBBY*** Look in front of you r porch))))) COINS! Yur Dad is Funny!!!
That Ford piece is a wheel beauty cap to cover the hub and look nice as well!
my father metal detected for years. he loved it, great exercise. some places he liked to hunt where fairgrounds, church groves, drive ins, and swimming areas at local ponds and lakes. hope you have as much fun as he did. good luck in future hunts.
if you want to make digging a little easier, look up Lesche Sampson 31 Inch T-Handle shovel and a Lesche Digging Knife Right Serrated Blade, I love these two tools, I wrapped my T-handle in leather , not as cold in winter time digging, keep on digging !!!!
Love that PuPP!🤗🤗🤗
I’m new to the metal detecting also, good luck, and I’ll get back to it when it warms up here a bit.
Ford hub cap, covers the lug nuts on the rim!!! Great video and yes do more!!! See ya next time!!!!
There should be some old coins near that broken down house/barn. We found a bunch of old pennies, nickels and silver dimes at my mom's old wreck of a house in Maui.
