Duckweed prefers to grow in water that is stagnant or very slow-moving. To rid your water of a duckweed problem, you can try aerating it. Using bubble aeration will discourage growth and kill duckweed plants that have already grown. Aerating a pond can also help reduce any foul odors associated with the water. Hope that helps!

Was also going to say get a solar powered floating fountain or two and let them naturally kill off the duckweed.

Yes, I think I would get a boat and spend a couple weekends out there with a net & scooping up as much Duckweed as could for sure. And yes, put some pump in there to aerate the water for sure that little pond is awesome for sure. well worth keeping it up. Ps that’s one lucky fish got a kiss 💋 from such a cutie pie.

Sorry for your loss. For the fish, make sure to acclimate them to the water so they dont die. You can put the bag with the fish in the water floating for 30 mins and their temperature will acclimate so they aren't shocked when they are released into the pond. If you get koi you'll want to do this so they dont die and stay healthy while transferring them to their new home. Take care 🙂
