Set vision...... encourage each manager to be an "entrepreneur" towards the improvement of his own team. Every team takes ownership of their relationships, authority, and resources in order to increase the efficiency of execution toward the vision.

Fantastic presentation. Thank you. I still find the Mintzberg system too complex/academic/scientific to understand, let alone to implement... As a consultant and trainer (30yrs in business) I find the old Fayol model much more comprehensive and as close to real life as Mintzberg's model is, just simplier. For me a good model in oorder to be helpful should be 1. Simple, comprehensive, practical to implement:) 2. Empirical. Thank you again though!

I have a question, say if the manager is well-aware that other companies are giving better offers (e.g. pay, more annual leave e.t.c.) to his subordinates, so he decides to implement certain benefits that will motivate his subordinates. Based on Mintzberg's managerial roles, can I say this manager is taking the interpersonal role as a leader?
labour strikes - is not always out of the control - this is sometimes because of wrong accepted decisions. Decisional role - is the Henry styled definition of some same activities of managers wich was found from their diaries but decision-making process is not just function or the role of a manager this is the essence, philosophy of management. But totally Henry accomplished the great useful job for those who really need to explain very easily what managers actually doing. But for breeding strong managers, this approach (my opinion) is not enough.
