That's the point of them recusing themselves in cases where their political or other beliefs/factors clearly hinder their ability to be impartial judges... I think even republicans were critical of Alito flying these flags, Lindsey Graham said something along the lines of it being "a poor decision" or something like that...
It's also only quite recent that you had the Supreme Court appearing so openly biased like that, like decades ago and beyond this sort of thing just would not happen since Justices tended to do their best to not undermine the judicial system like this in any conceivable way...
Like I imagine even if a Justice was part French, them flying France's flag somewhere would probably be troubling because what if a case ever involving France's interests or French people arrived in the Supreme Court? Questions about the Justice's favoritism start obscuring the prospects of impartiality... I'm very pro-LGBTQ and I would oppose them flying rainbow flags even...
The American Flag is really one of a select few safe bets if they wanted to fly a flag, even then, it shouldn't be upside down as Alito and certain rightwing protesters have done... Also it should be the current US flag since I think there could be deep implications potentially if you use a US flag from a particular point in history...
And like it doesn't seem like a big deal a lot of these things, but you're not a regular person you're a judge and on top of that you're one of the most critical judges in the entire country and you are highly respected... So a lot of minor things are expected to be well thought out... Kinda like you'd expect higher from a professor than an high school teacher... A high school history teacher gets Babylonians and Persians confused, fair enough, maybe they're more of an English teacher anyway and its a weak topic for them... A professor of ancient history gets those confused, you start scrutinizing their capabilities to teach the subject...

Then, that's what people started saying... that the language used is standard procedure. THEN, I asked people "could you provide some examples of that being standard procedure for high profile suspects?" That's how you think critically. Don't just believe what people put in front of you without any other context.
Not really.. in the Hong Kong protests it was "standard procedure" to lock up people for holding up blank pieces of paper. By your logic, there would be nothing wrong with that. It's plausible that there could have been a shootout between the Secret Service and the FBI, all it would take would be one mistake.

1. The government and the FBI can absolutely do this if they wanted to
2. The government does absolutely not want trump to win, because they deem him as a threat to the governments more corrupt practices.
