- Hello and welcome to my channel! I'm excited to announce a brand new build to you guys! A badass 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Convertible! This car needs a full restoration and it's getting the full restomod treatment thanks to my friends at Auto Metal Direct & QA1 Motorsports. I will do my best to document the process in what will be a long series of videos.
In this episode I do a complete start to finish DIY on how to install the US Car Tool Stage 2 Chassis Stiffening Kit. This kit is comprised of lower radiator supports, inner fender supports, and also subframe connectors. This car being a convertible came with torque boxes from the factory so that saved a little bit of time. This car's metal work is winding down and you don't want to miss a single second of this build! Please subscribe to stay up to date!
If you'd like to support the channel, please check out our merch below! Also follow me on Instagram for more pictures of the build. @Rust_Bucket_Restos
Buds getting them all done. All the rare ones
I would stitch every 3 inches then put 3m panel bond just my opinion very nice job youre doing sir.
Masterpiece just like the charger and cuda now all yo got to do is put your Autograph on them all 😊😅🎉
Thanks brother 😎🤘
What I found to work really really well for removing the factory undercoating is a pneumatic scraper like Harbor Freight's #95826. I only mention that one because it's cheap and comes with an assortment of blades. It peels the undercoating right off and if needed, you can follow it up with Naptha on a rag to remove any residue that is still stuck to the metal. The Naptha even leaves a pretty much intact paint surface underneath, if that is important. No torch, no burns on the skin and easier clean-up.
The USCT kit looks really good. And even better installed! Nice work as always.
Thanks brother 😎🤘
Great videos, and I really like the vibe of the music. Not that what I call click, click music.
These old cars really benefit from some additional stiffening. I had a super nice, original paint 1977 Trans Am. Installed subframe connectors, cowl braces and a set of Viking adjustable coil overs. It made a huge difference. Instead of the K-member flexing at the cowl the suspension actually had to work.
Nice! Sounds like a fun ride!
That needle gun is what we used to remove haze grey and red-lead from the ship's hull in the Navy. Unfortunately, it can leave dents.
Nice progress Dave.
Thanks brother 😎🤘
Thanks for sharing another great video, I already can't wait for your next one lol
Next one will be huge!
Nice work!!!
definitely need one of those stiffening kits.
Looks nice.....
Hey, try welding more piercingly instead of pulling, then the penetration will be better and your seams will be better as a result
💪😎
Any chance i could stop by and check out your 71 build in person? I'm starting the same project but cloning a 73 to a 71. I'm in utah as well.
Get you a good air drill, so mush better you'll like it a lot
I’m accepting donations! 🙂
good job T-BONE
Are you going to make the holes in that sub-frame for the parking brake cable
"If you're into the welding episodes..."
Um, I'm into the everything episodes! Are you going to chassis-stiffen the Ratty Saty?
You are gonna gain some strength by welding the centers of the cups in the core support, but it is so negligable why do it. The strength in the panel comes from the dimples not welding them to the rear panel.
It's his wire
Wont the new panels fill up with dirt through the Divets. Don't see no drain holes. Don't quite understand.
Frankenstein s monster car
✊✊✊✊
An all original will always be better and worth more
30 or 24 wire size for welds
I use .030 for everything
What about Dodge Charger; We haven't heard news from you a lot time ago?😢
She’ll be back in the spring!
Nice work but I hate not having a proper roof 2 door hardtop be way better and is light years in front for looks .👍🏻🇦🇺💯.
