Awesome project. I would add a gimble to the camera and add an identical underwater setup. this would make a perfect fish viewing platform.

which arduino was used? why did you need a raspberry pi and an arduino? i thought they were same.
MOST OF ALL, do you get live camera feed 24/7 no matter where it is in the globe? or does it cutoff signal ?
    thanks so much

I'm not involved in the project, but I can answer a few of your questions. The arduino used is an Uno. The reason you need both the RPi and an arduino is that they are NOT in fact the same kind of thing. At heart the RPi is a single board computer (designed to run programs) and the arduino is a microcontroller (designed to interface with hardware), the confusion is understandable as the arduino can run programs and the RPi can interface with hardware, but they are each much better at their primary purpose than the other would be.
As for the camera feed, it looks a lot like the only connection was via the RPi onboard wifi (unless I missed a connection somewhere), so range on downloading would be limited. Saying that, the Pi or Arduino are both capable of having GSM interfaces (basically connecting it to the mobile phone network) which would obviously dramatically increase the range.

having a switchable above and below water camera would be great. iv been wanting to build something like this so i can explore around looking under the water at what rock structure and fish are in new areas i go but the whole rpi and arduino thing has had me on a 3 year learning curve with very little success.
    is ur project opensource?

Just regular bilge pumps, converted into motors.
(Haven't finished watching but that's what they said and what I see so far)

Well this is not a spy drone, it would be better if it dives in the water, then you will face real challenge of GPS telemetry and data transmission, working on stable link and transmission protocols.
