@adams1696 Mazda is trying (for the 2nd or 3rd time, I think) to enter into the premium or luxury car space. So they designed a new RWD chassis, new powertrains (a new turbocharged i6 and PHEV powertrain with a new 8 speed automatic transmission), a more upscale interior than the usual competition and then increased the price over the CX-9 to reflect that. Recall that the CX-9 was never this expensive despite having a better interior than its competition.
@damilolaakanni Fully loaded Acadia is about 65k, vs the CX-90 which is about 61k. I personally prefer the look of the Acadia, it looks and feels more modern than the CX-90 which looks due for a nice refresh. The CX-90, looks to have the better engine though, but I'm not an expert on that sort of stuff.
Nice. Do you know, can you get the Luxury Package with the AT4 trim? I really like that acoustic laminated windshield you mentioned, and want the most luxurious leather seats possible.
I'll never understand why GMC went back and forth size wise with the Acadia over its three generations. What were they trying to do by making the 2nd generation much smaller than the first, then realising that they need to go bigger for the third?
It was cutting into their Yukon sales. The Acadia’s 2nd & 3rd row was as comfortable as the Yukon’s, so why not save $10-15k and sacrifice a couple sq. Ft. Of cargo by going for the Acadia instead of Yukon. Even this gen, isn’t as big as the Traverse.
The 3.6 V6 was fine. GM could have gotten closer to 400hp from it. They refused to put a little effort into it though. They jumped on the 4 banger bandwagon. 🙄🙄
The New Acadia does not need paddle shifters! What is does need is a second row 40/20/40 bench seating and 2.7 Turbo Engine found in the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks.
Electric headrests are failing! The 3rd row seats with Denali trim won’t fold and seats get stuck, seats motors fail too. I have both headrests not functioning right from the factory. I didn’t catch it until I got the car home. Dealer said I had to keep it and they would replace or repair. Now after many weeks they say there are no parts available and they don’t know what to do… I called GM. They assigned me a person to help.
It looks outdated already. That 2.5 is loud and coarse and it doesn't feel like it really has 328 Horsepower. Their are better options that cost less. Grand Highlander, Palisade Caligraphy, Atlas etc.
The fact that it's front wheel drive leaves me concerned, SUVs are supposed to be all wheel drive or at least rear wheel drive, and for that price I'd rather go for a base Yukon
I can't believe we live in a world where car journalists feel like a) it's necessary to justify a touchscreen being two inches smaller than a badge engineered cousin model, and b) like the vast majority of the public is upset by the lack of two inches' oversized screen to have to work around. Touchscreens are already way out of control. Even fifteen inches is way too big. Seventeen is worse. But the Acadia's screen being smaller is automatically a thing that earns it some points. God only knows how many extra thousands of dollars those two inches would've cost otherwise.
Small yukon Denali looking, similar to the Escalade and the xt6…should have a 3 liter twin turbo v6, enough with this i4 turbo bs in these big 3rd row SUVs!!
Why all of a sudden everyone is crying hybrid like really wats going on 6 months ago it was less of a issue now that's all you car reviews talk about something going on smh
Nothing going on. Hybrids have proven to give us the best of both worlds in terms of power and efficiency. Thus, we want more of them. The market is backing that up.
Buyers beware. The GMC Acadia has had several issues reported by owners and recalled by the NHTSA: Engine: Engine knock or ping, accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, oil leaks, and fuel leaks Powertrain: Fluid leaks between the transfer case and auto transmission Power liftgate: Liftgate may open on its own Steering: Steering may not be consistent Electrical system: Malfunctioning electrical system Suspension: Left-rear suspension toe link may be improperly tightened, resulting in a loose or separated toe link Other issues that have been reported include: Noises and leaks, such as squeaks, rattles, wind noises, air and water leaks, and seals and weather stripping Paint and trim issues, such as fading, chalking, peeling, cracking, loose trim or moldings, and rust Engine cooling issues, such as overheating, antifreeze leaks, radiator, cooling fan, water pump, and thermostat Body hardware issues, such as windows, locks, latches, doors, tailgate, trunk, hatch, mirrors, seat controls, seat belts, sunroof, and convertible top
GM just killed the Acadia with the too small turbo 4 cylinder, this is 4700-pound vehicle. Turbo tells you the engine is way too small, so they pressurize it to try to make it be more powerful. There is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque. Extremely overpriced.
$69k fully loaded?? You’re better off getting a mid trim Yukon at that price.
Just save $10k and get a fully loaded CX-90.
@@damilolaakanniMazda is 60k? What times we live in!

Excellent video Brian!
This engine in traverse means its in the caddy XT6?

The next GMC to get a complete overhaul is the GMC Terrain and then all the vehicles will pretty much be up to date
The reveal should be pretty soon. I think they got to see both the terrain and Yukon at this drive event.
@@DeadAir21 We did not, however you can see the Terrain and Yukon fully undisguised over at GMAuthority.
Needs a 3.5L V6. These small 4's w/ turbos in these big vehicles arent getting it done.
The 3.6 V6 was fine. GM could have gotten closer to 400hp from it. They refused to put a little effort into it though. They jumped on the 4 banger bandwagon. 🙄🙄
The Ford Explorer ST has a 3.0L V6
Where's the old crew
They're still here. I'm just....also here now.

There’s vents in the ceiling in 2nd row
I was referring to ventilated seats.
I saw one today. Thought it was a Honda Pilot

$68k is making this reach Cadillac XT6 pricing territory even the XT6 isn't on this platform yet & is smaller than this in interior size
The engine sounds terrible, ruins the entire experience of the vehicle. Specially compared to the older V6.
Small yukon Denali looking, similar to the Escalade and the xt6…should have a 3 liter twin turbo v6, enough with this i4 turbo bs in these big 3rd row SUVs!!
Let me guess: this new turbo engine means it needs premium gas
No. Turbo doesn't mean premium gas. You're always welcome to pay more to put it in there, though.
Agreed, I'd rather keep getting sub 25 mpg. The lack of a hybrid option is the only thing keeping me from purchasing this vehicle, unfortunately.
Captain chairs on second row and cramped space on "trunk". Better go to a minivan though.
They should have stuck with the size of 2014.....3rd row is for kids and teens
Pricey for no v6. Too many are ditching the v6 for these turbos and they are not all that great.
Missing the hybrid
According to GM you don't want a hybrid. What you really want is a Hummer EV or a Cadillac Dumbtiq without carplay 🤣
We should get a hybrid itn a couple of years
@@RChyshkevych Good thing Toyota and others sell them now

Good review Brian! A very overpriced GMC, though. I'd buy a Expedition or Tahoe for almost $70k
compete with kia tellride honda pilot

That's the outgoing generation. We'll have to wait a year to see if the new ones would be any better.
Known for transmission failures, FWD & AWD versions. The last-gens V6 engine was a POS too, sludge issues galore 😮
Why are the new cars having problems already mane ima stick with my ol realiable 😂😩❤️
