  • I've been reluctant to install the EZ Drain valve for fear of road debris knocking it off. But I did.

I have Fumotos on my Dodge & Ford Trucks but the Denali got the EZDrain valve with the nipple on it for the hose. No more oil messes. And never had one leak. And for anyone wondering, it does allow it to fully drain the pan. Some people assume the valve sticks into the pan too deep not allowing it to fully drain but I've checked and it fully drains.

I’ve been running the same fumoto drain valve for the last 20ish years on three different truck. Absolutely love them, makes oil changes very easy and mess free.

I have the fumoto oil drain valve my 14 Ram Cummins, and it works great. You won't be disappointed.

Fumoto’s are the definition of something you don’t know you need until you use one.

I have that valve on all my vehicles and been using it for years. Great option and much cleaner way to change your oil.👍🏻

I like the idea of the fumoto drain plugs, and installed one on my ram. However, after I got to thinking about it, I didn't like the idea of the threads sticking up inside the oil pan during the draining process. How does the last quarter to half inch of oil drain out if the treads are that tall? Maybe I'm missing something but I ended up taking it back off.

After I dropped the pan plug one time, I got the Fumoto. Not planning on ever going back.

Put a fumoto oil drain valve on my truck 10 years ago and has been working great. I add a small hose clamp to help keep the valve close in case some road debris fly's up and hits the valve.

This is Darryl. I added this drain 3 years ago to my 2014. I did not tighten it enough and started leaking around the threads. But since then, no problems and makes the change a lot easier.

I’m wanting to buy this. My only concern is I’ve been told their is residual oil let over due to the fact the plug inserts into the drain pan. This being said, the ezdrain does the same thing however does not allow the bottom oil drain. Is this true, please let me know. Thanks.

I had one of these drain valves on my Boat Engine. Noticed the oil pan corroding around it. Disimilar metals had created a battery and the pan was being consumed. Back to the drain plug after a build up of JB Weld on the pan.

My dad bought a 1994 Cummins 12 valve brand new and put one of those easy drain valves on there and it's been 29 years and 500,000 miles on that rattle trap tractor motor and the drain valve has never been a problem until now it just leaks a little bit, but so does literally everything else on the engine so we just keep sending it

Another great video 👍 I've thought about getting one of those valves only because in my 2012 ran Cummins when I pull the plug boy it makes a mess with my oil drain pan 😔 the oil comes out so fast it splashes everywhere! This would let me slow down the drainage at first maybe I can put a hose on it to guide the oil into the pan . It's my First Cummins I've never had this issue with any previous vehicles. I need to put down a large drop cloth to catch the splashing or build a disposable dam for the sides of my 25 qt pan. I purchased the truck to haul a camper around, Ive only paid to change the oil once and won't do that again they charge way too much for the Shell Rotela T6 I use. Also RAM must have made some changes to the engine compartment? I purchased a tool to screw into the oil filter so it can be tipped out but I don't need it on this truck because the filter has a clear path out the bottom of the truck. No obstacles in its way. A lot of videos show they can't get the filter out unless they drop it till it's resting in something. Put the plug on it and tip it out . Maybe something is missing under the hood of my truck? I'm the second owner I don't have another 2012 RAM Laramie to compare it to ? Again as always another great video 👍👍 .

Your '12 pre-dates the frame redesign that removed access of the filter from below. You are aware, I hope, that Ram Factory Service Manual as well as the Cummins Operation and Maintenance Manual requires the filter be prefilled. I know there are many meatheads on RUclips that state otherwise but the factory manual is the only factual source of information.

As you perfect the oil chainging process.... Have you thought about getting a filter cutter and cutting open the filters to see what got caught by the filter media? I have considered this but have not gone that far yet. Would be interesting to track this over time I think.

Thanks for your great video as always. Have you been driven your truck in the snow area yet? If so, did you see any accumulation of salt? That's one of the reasons that I am hesitant to put this type of drain valve on since I'd have to cross the snow zone in the winter time. Salt can even be built up around the oil drain plug over time when I'd change my oil in the Winter/Spring time.

    • @MarionBlair
      @MarionBlair  Год назад +1

Good point. I haven’t driven in snow. I sat on this little valve for 7 years. I’m more worried about knocking it off from road debris.

@Marion Blair I had the same worry but seeing how low other things hang and it is basically behind and protected by the front (4x4) axle...
