From owning and fixing cars over the years I've learned to leave vehicle stock and alone lmao! I just put wheels and tires now! I hate when problems happen.
Nah not with a diesel man they have alot of short comings from the factory the problem is people are stupid and they just slap a tune in it and go you can't do that if you are going to tune it you have to support it with the according mods I make my money on diesel pickups one of my personal truck is an lb7 and I tunes it knowing full well it was going to blow a head gasket just accept it it's going to happen and of course it did and rather than just having the heads worked and putting the stock stuff back I did the right thing I paid to play the game I bought fleece freedom series heads and ARP head studs now my next thing that will for sure break is going to be the transmission I know it it just is what it is if you're like me and like turning wrenches it's fun to build it and push it to its limit then modify accordingly the transmission right now has all factory internals but raybestos clutches that's not going to he enough to hold it with the new 66mm turbo I put on with the heads so when it dies it'll get bullet shafts hard steels and a transformation valve body kit maybe even a 6 speed conversion if I'm feeling cute and the best part is I get horsepower that's higher than a late model truck with zero emissions equipment to worry about ill never have to worry about it if they start to enforce emissions in my area im exempt
Take it to a dealership. (I know hard to believe) and have them flash the ECU, TCM and BCM to the VIN on the truck. I bet the previous owner did what you mentioned about switching a module. Given how the dash cluster is different, I bet they hodge podged it together and got it running, just to sell it to you and offload their project.
If you turn the key on and the security light is on constantly, keep the key on for 15-20 minutes and see if the light goes out usually on gm vehicles you can do that once or twice and it will reset it. Try to only use 1 key with the vehicle it can throw it into anti theft. Believe me I’ve owned gm all my life it is very common
I had a similar issue on a 6.7 Cummins, the tunes would not load fully and then the truck wouldn’t start. I unhooked the batteries to reset the ECM and got a manual flash file from optimal industries that went thru to reset everything caused by edge on the previous tunes. Then the new tunes loaded perfectly fine and the truck ran with no problems. I’d suggest emailing them and see if they can make their way thru it, they are very knowledgeable and quick
Might check with the bullydog to make sure its tune was undownloaded. It was a good tuner to learn from but me and the truck were both happy when I put PPEI on mine and sold the bullydog to the 03 cummins guy down the street lol
If the bullydog display in the bottom right hand corner doesn't say " tuning unavailable until tune is downloaded" when you power it up then the bullydog tuning is still on the truck
Even stock wouldn't of performed like that being stuck at like 60mph almost floored Also might've wanted to try the clicker after flashing the stock thing, maybe even reprogramming the clicker and locking/unlocking
When I tuned my lb7 with Efi live I ended up needing both a ecm and tcm. Neither would properly store the file and would let it start. Was just like yours was. You might even have to take the ecu to another truck to tune it then once tuned swap back to yours
I got ppl saying call u blah blah get on you about talking crap about my dealership (I own truck kings ) but to be honest I don’t feel like you were too out of line or anything, and I enjoy the channel so keep it rolling! Even though the getting on the trucks in the back was definitely out of line lol
Tell PPEI to send you a VATS off file. I bet it fires up. Previous owner may of had a VATS off tune and never programmed your key... Now that you flashed a PPEI file with VATS on it's saying that key isn't programmed for the VATS so it won't start. You can also try a VATS key relearn procedure, which is go key on for 10 minutes or until the theft light goes out, then key off for 5 seconds, back on until theft light out, off for 5, on for another 10 or until light out, off and crank which should fire up.
If they uploaded a tune that doesn’t match OS of the vin that you are supposed to have to the ecm ficm and what not , it can cause issues like no starts… tunes have to match os of the truck
Ok I’m not 100 percent sure but it’s worth a try….. if the anti theft light is staying on with the key in the run position take The key out and then reput it on the run position… leave the key in the run position until the light goes away….. once it goes away take the key out and retry it agian
I had an 05 Sierra that did that and all you have to do like I said turn the key to the run position, wait till the light goes off, then try to start it with the anti theft light off
It’s the pass lock system Leave key turned on ( ignition mode ) wait until the security light ( lock symbol ) goes away , I’d have a battery charger on it while doing it Happened to me , it’s in anti theft mode
Its probably running both tunes at the same time i mean taking it to the dealership would of got the truck working in an hr vs u saying it took couple days to still not get it to work realistically i was hoping u guys were going to do another sema build
What happened to you and promoting sdt and all the other tuning companies you’ve promoted? You dissed ppei for a while and was all about sdt or the other tuners in Canada…
So you remember details about tuning companies I promoted, but skipped over where I advised people to stay away from SDT due to unfortunate circumstances? I still recommend Canadian tuners if you wish to delete your truck. Never had issues with PPEI though

Had similar issues due to the anti theft system sometimes it did the no start. There’s a way to bypass it so you shouldn’t have that light on dash

I feel your pain bud. The 2nd time I drove my LBZ, 2 of my injectors went out lol. Should've did all 8 but just replaced the 2 bad ones.

The cts3 is cool, just laggy with readings like vgt position and has lots of bugs with the new trucks.

U ever think its not the tune. Could not be building enough fuel pressure. Air in line, fuel filter head ect.
