I have a 2014 6.7 cummins I bought new and deleted first week. Over 200,000 miles 335,000 km on it now no problems. Does 25-28 mpg US on the highway all the time. Never smokes. When running correctly these modern trucks dont hardly pollute. DEF Jugs would have poluted lots if i ran it.
Bullydog tuner. Gt plus diesel. Gutted crank case filter & re routed vent tube to atmosphere away from intake. No more wasted money on filters and saves your turbo. I also have a City diesel turbo actuator now. 68rfe trans with BD upgrade 200,000 km ago. Bullet proof. Pull empty semi & trailer 40,000 lbs many times.
These trucks are amazing. I've got roughly 75k miles on my tuned and deleted '19 L5P with zero issues. I've got transmission tuning too which makes a big difference in how it shifts and holds gears but you're absolutely right when it comes to driving the truck "respectfully." I've left my truck in the sport tune the whole time and I think the transmission thanks me for that. No issues towing heavy weight in the mountains either - EGTs are manageable. That being said I have a '24 powerstroke on order and will be looking to modifying that immediately haha.
Won't happen yet Ford yet again switched the computer and word is they added another piece to the emissions system looks like something to go.with the d.o.c. so yeah

L5p does not need head studs lots of people have made 1k on stock head bolts and I’ve towed 30000 lbs on mine in the 100 hp tune and egts stay in check very well

About to start ratcheting on my 19. I'm just doing the exhaust....for now. I don't have the tools or the confidence to tear into the engine atm. If I just unplug the EGR, doesn't that recirculate HOT exhaust into the engine without cooling it first? I'm assuming that would cause even more harm. If that's the case I may not even bother unless I can find a helper to get it all done at once. No since working on it twice.
I noticed on the 19-21 Ram video you did 5 or 6 months ago it seemed liked it smoked a lot. Were you keeping it in the highest tune and babying it? Was wanting to delete but didnt want a tune that smoked a lot
They just smoke when you rev them at an idle I find. While driving they don’t smoke. Also a lot of factors can make a truck smoke like a dirty air filter can cause it to smoke. Regardless, If you order the kit and find your truck is smoking you can always email them and they will send you new tunes to lower fuel dosage.
I definitely learned my lesson man, i deleted mine at 35k miles ripped it around in tune 5 on my 24s and 33s and beat it, blew my trans at 38k miles and it came straight out of pocket, now i baby it on the 40s lol
Haha I’m getting mixed reviews. Some guys are saying they beat the hell out of their trucks and they are fine, then some guys like you are saying be cautious. I always error on the side of caution personally.

Trans tuning is a must on the 10l1000 without it all the ecm does is de rate to save the trans. The 10l1000 is bad enough stock as it is I know because I own one

I’ve never seen or heard of an L5P blowing head gaskets. I also see people pushing 1000 horse on the stock head bolts with the L5P no problem I’d be more concerned about melting or cracking a piston before I’d worry about head gaskets.
Banks hot and cold side intercooler pipes do increase airflow and wcfab or ppe exhaust manifolds and up pipes decrease egts. All of this is emissions compliant.

Sounds great, got the full 5 inch with muffler, still real loud but it does kill the drone you get straight piped. Also hot the wherli fab y bridge and all their plumbing(another 3700 bucks) . Sounds great. Lights up the 37's on command. And smokes rams and ford's all day with 0 effort.

Yeah that’s pretty normal after doing a job like this. I had the coolant drained, so I topped it up just before making this video, but air gets trapped inside. You have to drive the truck and get it hot to get the air out of it. I topped it up when I got back to the shop and it’s been good since.

I don’t know who does their marketing but I can say that their tunes are solid and come from reputable companies (like GDP and Dieselr) and the parts are good too. They also have the best customer support team compared to all the competing “delete” websites out there. The diesel dudes don’t actually tune anything themselves, they are just a dealer for other tuning companies.
I live in California. They have CHP smog stops everywhere. They have a mobile smog machine on an open ramp trailer that you pull up on and they inspect underneath and plug into your vehicle and inspect under the hood.

Living in PA is terrible. Can't do anything fun to my L5P. I've got the legal delete from evo and that's alright but nothing like this. Also you do not have to worry about head studs with the L5ps bud. Just worry about the tranny. Stock can only hold 700hp if you up the line psi with a fooler plug.

While I absolutely agree that a deleted l5p is the way to go, it’s no longer worth the felony charges if you get caught. National law now states that it’s a felony to delete a diesel truck regardless of local emissions laws. Very sad that we no longer have choice with our own property but such is life.

The duramax has got to be the most over hyped engine of all time. They also sound like shit when deleted along the lines of a gas motor with an exhaust leak and a vaccum cleaner. This coming from someone who unfortunately bought one.

Had an 09 dmax efi live. I found it did the best mileage in hot tune. Driving it easy

Yup hot tunes typically have the best cruising milage, just gotta have enough self discipline to not bag drive it off the light all the time.

GDP is a solid company. They are now known as Dieselr. they recently got a dyno and have been really dialling in their tuning.

No, with the ecm tuned to run emissions off the EGR valves should remain closed therefore not letting any exhaust recirculate back into the engine.

I live in California. They have CHP smog stops everywhere. They have a mobile smog machine on an open ramp trailer that you pull up on and they inspect underneath and plug into your vehicle and inspect under the hood.

Living in PA is terrible. Can't do anything fun to my L5P. I've got the legal delete from evo and that's alright but nothing like this. Also you do not have to worry about head studs with the L5ps bud. Just worry about the tranny. Stock can only hold 700hp if you up the line psi with a fooler plug.

While I absolutely agree that a deleted l5p is the way to go, it’s no longer worth the felony charges if you get caught.

The duramax has got to be the most over hyped engine of all time. They also sound like shit when deleted along the lines of a gas motor with an exhaust leak and a vaccum cleaner. This coming from someone who unfortunately bought one.
