@ultraflopp2802 Well, in my own interpretation (what is found in GIgaslore and the logic on which Blokkat lore relies), actually doing more than just probing and exploring the astral planes is usually prohibitively expensive and hazardous, to the point that it's *far* simply to just harvest the regular universe than to try messing with often unstable and fluctuation astral planes/rifts. These aren't as involved, but they are additional crisis gigas has. They act like any empire making the Entrophic Engine, but they make their own version which is much, much more powerful and builds faster. Additionally Blokkats spawn 100 years after endgame OR 20 years after an endgame crisis/aeternum has been defeated and endgame era has started. The issue with gigastructures and ACOT is that by 2350 you are already at like 100k alloys a month with well over 10k naval capacity worth of fleets (given you have the mode to increase max from 9999). But if you're really interested in Blokkat lore, you can check out their page on the Gigastructural Engineering lore wiki. Red king also made a video about Blokkat lore, so you can check it out as well.
In my 36 playthroughs of Gigastructural Engineering, I have never once triggered the compound. They tend to become irrelevant pretty quickly if you run with ACOT.
I think the Compound is typically disabled by default, I've never seen them. I know they are supposed to be very broken, and the devs are planning to eventually fix them and make them an actual crisis
@michael_stellaris yeah, before this video I had no idea what they were supposed to be. I'm glad they're connected to the EHOF/Cohesive cluster/sentient metal/neg mass stuff, because the archeology sites and lore for all that was cool but for me ends up getting ignored in favor of ACOT techs later in the game. To have an enemy directly connected to that stuff with another unique way to defeat them would be super cool
Great work and video! Does anyone know what happens to the crises if you turn off attack moons and planet/system-crafts? I don’t really like the super ships, but I like most of the rest of the mod. Do the crises still get the planet ships? Or are they also blocked? (Might test it myself too, I’ll try to remember to comment here if I do)
you basically can’t do anything against the stronger crises, but the mod’s developers don’t like the balance of the celestial ships anyways and want to limit them to just attack moons in the future
Turns out I skipped a number while copying the link, and because of that it redirected to somebody's screenshot from 2012 💀 Thanks for pointing this out, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have noticed. Also sorry for the confusion lol
I don't think they removed that feature, so it's probably a bug. You should report this in the Gigastructural Engineering discord, it's more likely you'll find a solution there.
It is kind of a shame the Compound aren't as interesting as the Kaiser, Aeternum, and Blokkats are. They seemed like they had alot more potential. How would the Gigastructural Engineering crisis factions fair against nations as powerful as the Forerunners, the Culture, and the Interim Coalition of Governance? The Forerunners would be perhaps the most interesting due to how relative and adaptive they are with knowledge and warfare. Especially with things like the Domain. Even though they haven't built anything exactly like a Birch world before with the exception of one shield world.
I dont remember the Katzan looking like that... regardless. While I like their mechanics a ton, and the fact they are crisis worthy, what I dont like is how they seemingly just mold every single empire into themselves without even really trying or sometimes without doing anything. So in a year or two they already own half the galaxy... thats a bit much for a midgame crisis. I'd enjoy them more if they weren't so absolutely busted and broken in the galactic scale of things. The fact they have an attack moon already makes them scary to fight against... I dont need them surrounding me because every AI empire just agrees to be absorbed.
I never seem to have much issue with the Katzen. I have ACOT along with Gigastructures, and if I am doing okay for the beginning of the game I tend to have stronger fleets than the Imperium by the time they declare war on me. I don't seem to struggle defeating them, which is a bit of a shame because there are so many mechanics implemented to deal with them that I never need to explore.
The video was published before the Sirenalia crisis was implemented. Initially I wanted to make a video covering it, and other changes made to gigas after my "comeback" (I assumed Gigastructural Engineering would be updated by that time), however 3.12 is a massive update, and many mods aren't up to date, so I did the Mods to Improve Warfare vid instead. It wouldn't make sense to do an updated video on gigas now, as there's an update underway, meaning more changes to include, and as I said the mod is not compatible with 3.12 Right now I'm thinking about doing a mod showcase, idk which mod i'm gonna choose yet, but i'll let y'all now eventually. Don't worry, I'm still gonna do the gigas update, a whole new crisis is too big of a feature to skip over.
In my playthrough the kaiser lost the civil war and vanished i then wiped out the remaining victorious factions since i didn't trust them to not be up to something or again fall to him
Nah it's alright I remember one time I enabled the Aeternum by mistake, and when they awoken I was completely unprepared. My empire lasted for a couple minutes lmao That was the last time I played with Aeternum enabled (not counting the preparations for mod showcases)
Well that depends on the crisis, and chosen difficulty, so for this scenario let's say you're playing on default settings. The Katzen yes, Aeternum are a bit more challenging but with enough planetcrafts you should defeat them. The Blokkats are able to counter planetcrafts, they're still useful, but you should also send in some systemcrafts. As for the Compound, unless you get the anti-compound weapons your ships are screwed lol
Is this mod intended to be played with other overpowered shit bc I see no way to deal with something that has fleet power in the literal millions in normal gameplay
There are various difficulties which have an impact on the overall strength of the crises. Some are more challenging, and are meant for playthroughs with overpowered mods, while some of them are meant to be played with gigas only. Second, the mod gives you tools to fight them, such as Attack Moons, Planetcrafts and Systemcrafts plus various megastructures to boost your empire. If you want information about them, check the first part of the gigastructural engineering showcase.
@michael_stellaris I don't have a 3rd answer option, only about the battle and another option that hasn't been finished yet, if anything i play for the machine mind, and I have perk cosmogenesis
Does your empire have the Determined Exterminator civic? EDIT: Ok I think I know the issue. Only normal, non-gestalt, not genocidal, non crisis and non-emperor/custodian empires can access this path. So if you're a gestalt empire, you can't take that path, sorry :/

Any intention to cover the Warship Girls R mod or Voyage to Eternity? Or the Azur Lane mod?
I added them to my list. As of when i'm gonna cover them, tbh I have no idea, rn i'm way too tired after the gigastructure showcase.
@@michael_stellarisno worries, that mod is MASSIVE.
Do you have the link of the Giga Structures?
The one you have sends me to a picture of dwarves...
Wtf how did that happen, I'm genuinely confused
Turns out I skipped a number while copying the link, and because of that it redirected to somebody's screenshot from 2012 💀
Thanks for pointing this out, if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have noticed. Also sorry for the confusion lol
@@michael_stellaris No problem :)
For some unknown reason, the ground operations panel does not appear during the assault on the pyramid :(
I don't think they removed that feature, so it's probably a bug. You should report this in the Gigastructural Engineering discord, it's more likely you'll find a solution there.
Awesome
Out of curiosity, which difficulty are you using?
I never seem to have much issue with the Katzen. I have ACOT along with Gigastructures, and if I am doing okay for the beginning of the game I tend to have stronger fleets than the Imperium by the time they declare war on me. I don't seem to struggle defeating them, which is a bit of a shame because there are so many mechanics implemented to deal with them that I never need to explore.
In dealing with the Blokkats event, there's an option of "Fighting is futile. Let us move to more fertile lands instead!" What does it do?
It's a third outcome that has not been implemented yet. It involves you figuring out a way to abandon the galaxy, and escape the Blokkats
What about the sirenalia crisis???
he might be making a short video about it
The video was published before the Sirenalia crisis was implemented. Initially I wanted to make a video covering it, and other changes made to gigas after my "comeback" (I assumed Gigastructural Engineering would be updated by that time), however 3.12 is a massive update, and many mods aren't up to date, so I did the Mods to Improve Warfare vid instead. It wouldn't make sense to do an updated video on gigas now, as there's an update underway, meaning more changes to include, and as I said the mod is not compatible with 3.12
Right now I'm thinking about doing a mod showcase, idk which mod i'm gonna choose yet, but i'll let y'all now eventually. Don't worry, I'm still gonna do the gigas update, a whole new crisis is too big of a feature to skip over.
@@michael_stellaris Gigas is updated to 3.12 now
In my playthrough the kaiser lost the civil war and vanished i then wiped out the remaining victorious factions since i didn't trust them to not be up to something or again fall to him
Is it sad i always turn of all crisis from the mod since i lost one time and rage quit?
Nah it's alright
I remember one time I enabled the Aeternum by mistake, and when they awoken I was completely unprepared. My empire lasted for a couple minutes lmao
That was the last time I played with Aeternum enabled (not counting the preparations for mod showcases)
I don’t understand how a mod can make better crisises than the actual game lol
Can my multiple behemoth planetcraft defeats them? I hope they're kind enough to die for me
Well that depends on the crisis, and chosen difficulty, so for this scenario let's say you're playing on default settings.
Infinite Imperium u say, no problem I will play as the Stellarborne with it's Omega Tech Level technologies and wipe the filth of this galaxy.
If you want information about them, check the first part of the gigastructural engineering showcase.
i cant made alliance with the blokkats, can someone help me?
Can you elaborate? What is the problem exactly?
@michael_stellaris I don't have a 3rd answer option, only about the battle and another option that hasn't been finished yet, if anything i play for the machine mind, and I have perk cosmogenesis
Does your empire have the Determined Exterminator civic?
EDIT: Ok I think I know the issue. Only normal, non-gestalt, not genocidal, non crisis and non-emperor/custodian empires can access this path. So if you're a gestalt empire, you can't take that path, sorry :/
@@michael_stellaris thank you very much!
@@michael_stellaris thank you very much
... I still want to change the Kizer as an empire that defeated him..... just the RP would be great....
What about Siren
This video was released before they were added
Your my king.
Kaiser Kattail in the flesh :000
how to beat them us ethe own command on all blokkat ships then stack 10 blokkat veesters then own all other ships then wait ofr another vester to spawn then kill it at the end they only destroyed 8 percent of the universe
Allow me to put the likes from 999 to 1k. You deserve it!
Thank you so much ❤️
Heheh…hahahah…HAHAHAHAHAH!!!! FINALLY WORTHY CHALLENGERS!!!!
Blud thought he was a fanatical warrior imperial leader
:> D
That first faction is just pure cringe.
Once again confirming my theory that people either love or hate the Katzenartig Imperium with literally no in between lol
*C R I S I S* not whatever the fuck you typed in that title 💀
Crisis is a singular noun, crises is plural. The video talks about not one crisis from Gigastructural Engineering, but four of them, therefore it contains everything about CRISES from Gigastructural Engineering. You can check the Oxford, or Cambridge dictionaries if you don't believe me.
