Totally random... but I love the winter white color on you! It seemed like you glowed!! Maybe it was the location and all the white behind you but just wanted you to know you looked so lovely in the white sweater🙂
I agree! So light and festive! 🎄
Totally agree!
Ditto, luv white on Laura also. Was reluctant to comment on previous post because I didn't want to make her self conscious that we notice stuff like that!!
@@patriciabaylor4573 .. I think she has learned we notice EVERYTHING.. hahaha. But I think most all of us try to be positive instead of critical. What’s to criticize anyway??? It’s all good 🥰
Oh that deep sigh from that mean comment broke my heart Laura! 😔 Made me want to rush to your defense! That was just mean spirited! I'm so glad you let those things roll off your back which is why I love you so much!💕💕💕
@@regiroettjer3874 right??!! Made me want to channel the two year old in me and call them a poo head. But I didn't. Cuz I'mma lady. 🤭😉😆. Anyone who has watched even a few of her videos can see how hard she works to keep her huge property looking beautiful. I look at my half acre and think "what would Laura do?" Then I get to work. She and Aaron are inspiring! Let those among us who are without junk cast the first stone. Otherwise keep your mean comments to yourselves!
She is a big girl and she will get over it. No need to get your panties in a twist.
@@annemelon5283 Take your own advice.
Me too! Completely agree! The comment was mean-spirited for sure!
I used to hate Sunday mornings but now I actually look forward to waking up, grabbing a quick eat, and settling down for the recap videos. I wish (hope) you guys knew how much we love and appreciate all you do.
Have you ever considered going to Church. Just asking in the kindest way.
Yep, it is something that you will look forward to, very rewarding and welcoming
@@pamelawoodall5891 I was thinking the same thing.Sunday mornings are for God.

That’s usually when we go to Church especially now with the COVID-19 Virus 🦠 going around.

Love your quilted white shirt Laura! Makes your hair and face shine! Miss Aaron, hope he feels 100% soon.
I adore her shirt! I need one like it! Beautiful!
I didn't know I could buy from your parents online. I had seen a darling snowman head bird feeder in the background in the decorating video . I went to their site, I got the last one. SO excited about this. Major dork here, but I love to watch the birds from my dining room window.
I love watching birds at my feeders in the winter! We are not dorks, lol! I bet alot of GA community are bird enthusiasts.
Just reading this made me excited for you!! Hope you enjoy your bird feeder.
I love watching my birds at the feeder!
Great! Will keep this in mind! Would love to buy from Laura's parents and in a small way, support their family business💝🐈💝🐈
@@lindaforystek5028 Totally agree! Including 14 hummer feeders, I have around 27 feeders to keep the birds happy and singing and *close* so I can enjoy them! They make outdoor gardening that much better.
Your organization skills are exemplary; don’t give a negative comment even a second thought. I wish I could do as well. 👍
I agree.
I agree... we all have areas in our yard that becoming dumping spots until we can get to them.
I loved your “Hot Mess” video. Life happens to all of us. I also love your “crop” mentality. Being from a farming family, I have found that the cycling nature of plants, etc. has brought a peace to my life.
Looking forward to seeing the window display at Andrew’s!
You look so pretty in white! Usually you wear dark colors!
Please let the negative comments slide off your back. For all the good you do in this world, who cares about a untidy corner.
One of the many functions you guys provide is giving people permission to learn, to experiment, to fail.
They have not yet gotten their gardening "legs" based on questions, repeated questions, but will if they keep at things.
Failures really are not, they are learning. The more they garden, the more they learn.
They have their local county Master Gardeners, local gardening groups, favorite nurseries, community gardens/botanical gardens/arboretums, RUclips channel favorites, pbs shows, library books, etc.
The more done, the more learned. One of my favorites is doing something "experts" say address this way (pruning for example), I did not know, just did that way/opposite without knowing, plant is fine.
Thanks for all your videos. Winter is a good time for viewers to rewatch and get refreshed for 2022. 🥰
Laura wow does a light color bring out your beauty!
Light colour clothes look really good on you! 😊😊
Love this recap. Laura and Aaron don’t let those negative comments like “junking up the space “ get to you because you are real people and you rock it! You give so much inspiration to your viewers. Thanks for also sharing cooking time with Benjamin. I love seeing the cooking videos as an added part of your real life. Have a great week! Love you guys!
Maybe you could do a sweet play house for Benjamin and Samantha Grace with a living roof!
Whoever is editing the video (hoping it's Ken), thank you for the Easter Eggs. For a minute, when Laura's says 'the cameras shut off and the screen went dark, I genuinely couldn't believe the irony and I remembered the 'saturation' easter egg in another video and realized the cheekiness of the editor. XD 1:36
So glad your taking a day off to spend with your precious mom. Family is everything.
I love the banter between Ms. Laura and Aaron 🌺💚🙃
A cup of coffee and a visit with Laura & Aaron is the best way to start my morning!
Can I say, you look lovely in white!😍
Blessing to you and your beautiful family.💕
I agree, I so look forward to these weekly updates. Laura does look so nice in white. Not practical for gardening, but a lovely change!!
Yes, Laura you look great in white. Your dark hair shows up better, and it all just brightens your face.
I think that not being stressed about plants does come from being able to have access to many plants. When I worked at a nursery I just plopped plants in and I didn't stress over it growing or not. However now every plant is much more precious because it's hard for me to find and pay for all those plants. Like full price makes a huge difference!! If a plant doesn't make it I may not be able to afford another or find that kind again.
So true. I started container planting this year on my porch and the cheap clearance stuff I was fine if they didn't make it. The PW hydrangeas I bought online, I would baby it everyday because they cost a decent amount.
@@angstrom55 Nothing like getting those mark down plants to grow! One tip: if it is an indoor plant, most likely it is over watered. If it is an outdoor plant, it most likely has been under watered (exceptions are herbals like lavender, rosemary and cacti/succulents). ANY mark down gets a spray down of Captain Jack's Dead Bug and Copper Oxide (for disease).
I can't stop laughing at Aaron's remark, I've driven to places that were prettier than that LOL!
Thank you for all the inspiration you give us! My husband and I have been redoing our whole yard because of both of you. So much fun!
You guys are so loved !
I really like the gingerbread video. Maybe because it didn’t work out as planned. I loved that you shared that special Benjamin time. It must have been a pain to video and put together so it is very appreciated. I store my pots upside down under my greenhouse benches. They do get water some when seedlings are there but I just turn them over, wipe them off and plant them up. Easy access.
A day off is great for creativity. Enjoy family life! 👩👩👧👧
I’ll take whatever video I can get. Family time is so important! 🙂

Milk jugs are great for winter sowing. This year, I winter sowed in upside-down clear plastic bins. I put a sealed bag of top-soil on the bin top on the ground, cut open and removed most of the top of the bag, and sowed my seeds directly in the soil bag. The clear bin then went on top to create a little greenhouse. You do have to poke holes in the soil bag for drainage and the clear bin to allow for natural watering. It worked like a charm!
I have seen people do this with great success, but have yet to try it. I think this is the year. Thanks for the reminder. ~ Lisa
Your biggest fan, Russell. So sweet! He's so patient, waiting on a little Momma love.
I am looking forward to see what you talented ladies will create for the windows. Fun, memorable times with your family.
In regards to squirrels messing with your bulbs I always plant with daffodils... rabbits, squirrels, deer - they don't like daffodils (scent/taste) so that we usually leave anything you plant with daffodils alone and then I always top-dress w/bonemeal
Laura looks beautiful today...liking your pretty white sweater...thank you for being a friend with your handsome husband...communication, consideration, honor, encouragement to each others tho'ts...
Personally, I would not want to live in a place where everything is "perfect" looking, hence, the comment made by what someone said about a perceived mess behind the greenhouse and barn. Good heavens! What a way to live if they have to constantly live perfectly 🙄
Diane point on, I cannot believe some of the comments people make to them. They are a wonderful family and they keep their house and gardens up beautifully!
Umm…are you kidding? The success of Garden Answer vs all the other gardening channels is their attention to the details, & the beautiful projects they do to keep the garden evolving & inspirational
Who wants to watch a show where everything is mediocre? Not me! So if you want sloppy, you are in the wrong place. Good luck! Just allow these great people to moving forward
Totally agree Diane, that comment REALLY annoyed me, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have a junky spot on their property and it’s usually where no-one can see it anyway, good grief, get a life.
@@barbarap5574 In order to create beauty there has to be a place for the supplies, etc. They would never irritate or treat their neighbors with any disrespect or anyone. They are remarkable and so indpiring.
I just wanted to say that I absolutely loved Aaron's last comment. When you asked him if there was anything else to say. Aaron said "Go plant a tree". Just think if all of us who follow you here on Garden Answer highlights and your Garden Answer channel planted 1 tree think of the difference we could all make. Or heck, 2 trees! That would be outstanding!!!! Thank Aaron and Laura for all that you do for us and that you include us in your life's. God Bless you all.
Greetings from Cold 🥶 Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸 51° at 5a.m 🥶
I watched this video while being cozy inside with a cup of tea 🍵
I sure hope you are feeling better completely soon, Aaron.
Wonderful videos all week 👩🌾👍
Good morning all have a blessed day
I had to smile when Aaron said that he wouldn't go on a hike like that again. My husband had this with my family after being on Lake Michigan sailing. . Going out of the harbor was fine, but when we started sailing back towards Chicago, my family, as in tradition, yelled " let's go again" !. I didn't know my new husband had sea sickness. My husband said he was dying inside - he couldn't believe we thought this was fun. My husband has never gone sailing again or have been on any boat. :o)
I usually watch the videos twice 😝... especially these highlights, I’m usually glued to Laura the first time then the second I look at the scenery and listen for things I missed ❤️
I just ordered 2 ornaments from Andrews!!! I wanted your dad’s red Santa boot. But that was all out!😁 Enjoy your time with your family decorating the shop! We will miss you but look forward to seeing it all sparkly and Christmasey!!!!!
People are so rude and judgmental; goodness me! Please don’t give it another thought and keep doing what you do! You are an inspiration to many gardeners worldwide! I mean seriously; we all have a section of our property where for a moment can get a bit messy. Everything can’t be perfect at all times! Seriously!
Love you in the white and ivory colors it makes your hair highlights look spectacular and your whole face looks brighter!
Feel better Aaron!
🙏🌞
Laura has inspired me to plant fall plants this year, normally I just keep an eye on my tropicals , keeping them protected from freezing temperatures. I purchased snapdragons , mums, asters , dianthus and about 50 bulbs. Looking forward to seeing everything grow during the fall, winter and spring. Yes we do get freezing temperatures in north and central Florida.
I have been impressed by the practicality of not stressing too much when things go wrong with plants and projects. I have been better about that in general, but there are some exceptions. Like on my family farm where I grew up. I grieved over a white weeping birch tree that died because the lawn around it was taken out and my family somehow forgot the tree still needed to be watered. That tree was “my friend “ as a kid. I spent so much time up in its branches reading and lost in my own world. I didn’t even still live there when it died and I still miss it like family.
I take all my Christmas decorations down the day after. Ready for the new year and clean house!
Enjoy the time with family and decorating the store. That has to be so much fun for you guys! I get the odd job feeling as well. I started making soap as a hobby and out of need due to migraine allergies. It then turned into a business for me. Its interesting now looking back at what I got myself into but I am so thankful for it.
Laura, you look great in white! 🥼🎄🌻🍂
I absolutely laughed out loud at Aaron's comments about hiking. So funny! I love listening to the banter between the two of you on the recaps.
The sun porch looks so pretty! 🌱
I really need to see your new way to do ribbon before I put up my tree's. I've been wanting to do something different and I'm running out of ideas.
Ignore the negative comment about your storage area. I would give anything to have you as my neighbor. Your home and landscaping are gorgeous!! You have given me some much need inspiration, when I was going through such a rough time. Never forget the value you have added to so many lives. Thank you.
Laura you definitely inspired me, I'm on vacation this week so I'm getting my garden winterize!!!! I love the white shirt!!!
You would never believe you have challenges with public speaking. You seem so together and at ease. Must be from lots of experience. I took a community college public speaking class. Thought I would pass out that first time talking in front of the class. Best money I ever spent. I wont say I speak with ease but it sure did help. I do enjoy your videos and thank you for all the wonderful planting ideas. One last thought, with Benjamin getting to be such a big brother, maybe it's time for a play house, fort or hobbit house where the kids can play. Your idea of a living roof would be perfect on it.
Great attitude about the Hartley not being ready. The Christmas tree will make it magical ☺️ enough. Can hardly wait to see your Christmas decorations at the garden center and your home. Thanks for all you do in educating us.
I could soo relate to the hiking story lol! I finally hiked to Mystic Lake where I live here in Montana… I’d been hearing about how beautiful the lake is my entire life… the hike was brutal… we finally get to the lake and OMG what a let down!!! Lol Flathead Lake is soooo much more beautiful and you can drive right up to it!
Laura I will never complain if you need to step away to do other projects (garden center xmas) or even if you all need time to take a breather. Thank you for all the helpful and relaxing videos through out the years. Have been very helpful and beneficial.
Is Laura sick? I haven't seen a video in 2 days.
Love the way Russell also looked out the window when you said it was raining, he's like, "yeah, raining, not much to do" - he looks so sleepy - my sweet Ginja looks just like him :)
I remembered the first video I saw of you was at the Garden center doing some arrangements and I was so impressed with both the arrangements and your presentation and teaching of how to do it. Excellent! I've been watching ever since and I've learned so much and I appreciate you and Aaron and the way you interact with each other and with your kids. You are a blessing to many and a bright spot in our days. So much better than anything on TV. 😉
Talk to your local high school or recreation league to see if they want the robot mower. Our high school uses them for the baseball field.
Hopefully you feel well soon Aaron. Laura you look fabulous in that Winter white. Enjoy your day💝
Beautiful background set! So festive in your white & the red!🎄Can’t wait to see the beautiful windows! ❤️
So I told some of my drone pilot family members about your drone incident… and before I could finish one said..what’d he do, try and catch it?? And then I got the “big dummy” head shake. 😋😋😋😋
Russell 😍❤️
As you are talking about Dahlias, I looked up your zone 6b and my girlfriend in VA 6b. Maybe something to try. She has never dug up her dahlias, just really mulched then each fall. Something to try maybe leaving some in the beds Laura, and see how they do? Would that cut down on your work? Just a thought.
Love your hair Laura! You look beautiful ❤️
It's really something how you always say.".read the instructions or what ever the bag says to do". You never wing it. Your such a pro.
Hi Laura, just an FYI on the Proven Winners locator tool. I asked them if they planned to sell a specific plant online because the tool didn’t show it in my near vicinity and they said to not necessarily trust the locator tool as it is still being built/in beta mode. Their recommendation was call local garden centers and if they didn’t have what you’re looking for, ask if there’s a possibility for you to special order or if they’d consider it in the future
I don't mind when Christmas decorating starts, and I get that retailers need to start early, because for them the season really is over as of Christmas Day. BUT - the First Day of Christmas (as in the song) was historically, December 25, and Twelfth Night, when the big parties happened, marked the End of the festive season, January 6. Traditions change and newer materials, like artificial trees, etc., make it easier & safer to extend the season, and the hype can build from Halloween on. But I am always disappointed when Christmas just disappears immediately on that one day. To me, it has only just gotten started. My favorite Christmases ever have always involved stretching out the celebrating as long as possible. Christmas Eve guests in my home; Christmas Day with family; Boxing Day plans with close friends; New Years Eve, and New Years Day smallish events; and Something (even just lunch in a restaurant with folks you care about, back when it was allowed) on January 6, to mark the official end. I try to talk up the Twelfth Night thing whenever I can, because Christmas has morphed into a GET GET GET festival. The month, or more, leading up to Christmas is about preparing for the holiday, including SO much shopping, so to have it over in12 hours seems such a let down. How does one start a movement? because I'd like to start a movement to bring back Twelfth Night, and a more gentle, simple fellowship to just put a bow on the end of each year.
I have a friend that has his big party on January 6th. He runs a flower/gift show and decorates big homes for Christmas. January 6th is known by many Christians as Epiphany but also Three Kings Day and more :)
@@stephaniestatnick yes - the day the 3 Kings were said to have arrived at their destination.
I will be part of your movement! We have always found the time between Christmas and January 6th such a relaxing, and festive time.
As a child, Christmas started for us Christmas Morning and went through until Jan 6-- Santa brought the tree and it came down the weekend after Jan 6th (unless it was a fire hazard). Nobody had trees up more than a week before Christmas and never heard caroles before Dec 1
Yes. It is sad that it has become about one day, then back to the rat race.
Lamp looks good 💡
Really looking forward to Christmas at Andrews, so much fun to see decorating on a large scale.
Great recap. Love all the projects. Thank you so very much for sharing.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
my husband calls hiking death marches.. have a wonderful day..
Laura, your face when Aaron was talking about maybe losing his nail was so funny! You guys are great!!😆😊
So enjoyed the recap. Made us chuckle when you said you usually take your Christmas decorations down before New Years Eve. We put ours up after Thanksgiving and we have three tons of decorations, it seems. So, we take the outside decorations the first week of January and then the inside items come down right after Valentine's Day. So fun!
Good morning! Always fun to watch the recap video. Can’t wait for the Christmas windows at Andrew’s. Will you have a house tour of your trees when you have them all decorated?
When we were young , growing up at the beach we had a large field that after a heavy rain it puddled up ( large) it was so much fun to play in ! I hope Benjamin has the same fun!!!
I grew up on a farm near Laura and Aaron. We had a large lawn around the house and used farm irrigation water to flood irrigate that lawn. We had lots of fun as kids playing in the flooded yard on watering days.
Usually when it rains in Laura’s area( I live here, too) it is too cold to want to go out and play in. We can have all three months of summer with virtually no rain. Maybe you live where it rains when it’s warm?
So true! When I saw that puddle, my mind immediately went to memories of my daughter splashing away. She could not resist puddles. ~ Lisa
My daughter lives in town in a little apartment but has a tiny little square of a flower bed in front of her porch. She planted annuals this year and enjoyed them so much, enjoying what grew successfully and learning what didn’t do so well. I recently visited her and bought a variety of bulbs to plant this fall. She really loved this little activity, deciding how to arrange the bulbs. She’s really looking forward to spring. I told her we have to brighten the corner where we are! I love your videos. They are so inspirational. ❤️
Love these videos - I usually see something I missed the first time around. Good info always shared - thank you for that. I wish VA Creeper was that well behaved in the south. But alas, no - here it wants to pull up a chair and have a glass of tea on the porch by May. 😂
Ignore comments like the last. The property is large and not every little area or nook will be perfect all the time. It is well maintained and not to mention a huge work in progress. That’s obviously the back of the neighbour’s property anyways. There isn’t one person here who would want a camera on every part of their house and yard….
Love your videos and the positivity you bring to everyone and wish nothing but the same for you in return.
All the best, from BC Canada.
I’m so happy that I’m not the only one who puts up Christmas early and takes it down Christmas Day as well. I’m ready to have my house back to normal Christmas Day night lol
Yay!! Been waiting for this all week. Hope you all are having a nice morning.
good for you on taking time off during the week!!!
Laura looks stunning in her white quilted sweater? It really sets off her hair color?
When Laura said she was surprised when so many GA fans remembered the price of the topiary trees it made me think how fun it would be to have a live GA trivia game somehow…..I’d be in!
I loved seeing you in a light colored pullover. Sounds silly I know buy you're usually in a button up dark colored shirt and jacket. You look very pretty. The red flowers in the background make you look Christmasey.
We even love your ‘hot mess’ videos so please always post them! 🤣🥰🥰
I have a yard that takes 4 hrs to mow, 71yrs old, female and I (most times) ENJOY mowing! Sometimes I'll divide it into 2 days and sometimes I just mow all of it at one time! Good way to get my Vit D.
I chopped my nail once when a watermelon rolled when cutting it. The Dr. lifted the nail cut it back and put stitches underneath where the nail would have been. It healed up great. Losing a nail looks traumatic but thankfully skin and nails grow back. Scars are proof of a life well lived.
Thank you for all the ideas, suggestions, encouragement and knowledge!!! You’ve really got me going with gardening lately and I’m learning so much from you! Thank you, thank you!!!!
Looking forward to the garden center decoration video :)
I’m with Aaron Laura lol. I love straight lines when mowing. It drives me crazy if not 🤣🤣
You look absolutely lovely in white!
I know, everyone's face (& EYE WHITES) look good in WHITE or Light colors! It's hard to STAY CLEAN in white, when you're always digging in DIRT! (HENCE, THE DARK CLOTHES!).....
Knee Pads: Laura should try the Carhartt work pants with the inserts for knee pads since the strap bothers her behind her knees. They are really nice pants.
ALWAYS a pleasure seeing your & Aaron's videos. Makes starting my day so happy. Thank you both for being the way you are!!! 🌱
I ran a landscape business in my young days. I loved having my knees on the ground while planting flowers or laying sod. Unfortunately, I got chiggers in my knees by having my knees directly on the ground, (with thick jeans on). I'm 60+ now & that happened when I was pregnant with my 2nd child (who's now 39 years old). I still remember that intense itch and will for the rest of my life. OMG!
Laura in white shirt😍NICE😊👍❤
Hi Laura and Aaron! Missed seeing you again, Aaron, hope you're better soon! Laura, please show us how you do your tree ribbons now. I thoroughly enjoyed the other one you did, but would love to see how you do it now. I hope you have a good day helping decorate at Andrews. That would be so much fun! I don't do any Christmas decorating until after Thanksgiving. I don't like overlapping the two holidays, and then I try to have everything put away the day after Christmas. That's how my Mom used to do it, too. Thank you so much for sharing!
I buy online usually for really large sizes. Mostly they are still independent garden centers and typically they are beautiful, well shipped and affordable.
At least in my small town this is mostly the only option. The garden centers we do have mostly carry a pretty standard selection that is common here.
Oh Golly! I think your place is absolutely stunning! You would think that anyone would know that you all have lots and lots of inventory, and it has to go somewhere! AND...sweet Laura and Aaron, you are a lot of things but inconsiderate and obviously messy are not it! I love watching! Your home and your grounds are so lovely to me. I smile every time I see it from the drone shots!
Those automatic mowers would be great for the elderly.. maybe you could find an elderly person in your church that could use the mowers.. just a thought!
Yeah, I finally found your channel for highlights on. RUclips. This will be another way to brighten my day.
We enjoyed Benjamin cooking!😀
