❤love from india , the chicken stew is soo incredible and seems very similar to our crusine in india i i wish some day I'll visit and eat authentic fufu and stew and other dishes
Came out delicious and everyone loved it! I like making my family try african dishes from other countries (we are Moroccan) and this was just perfect. Thanks! ❤🇲🇦🇹🇹🇳🇬
I just made chicken stew the other night with jasmine rice and fried plantains. I think I will make it again today with some fufu and try that. My Nigerian husband introduced me to African food and I immediately fell in love but I use Carolina Reaper and Scorpion hot peppers cause I love love love spicy food.
this looks so good, thank you! me and my dad are from Scotland but Nigerian descent - he just found out who his family is in Nigeria, through DNA testing, and he has 7 siblings we didn't know about! to celebrate finding our family i've been wanting to do my best to learn how to cook at least a few dishes, as they'll be visiting us and vice versa. This recipe has me really excited, I hope I can do it justice ❤🙏🏽
I was wathing a video where a dad surprises his daughter with fufu and stew and I ended here. I heard about fufu before, but after that video I googled it and found your video. The fufu and stew looks really good! I'm from the Northeast of Brazil and we have a lot of cassava-based foods: breads, cakes, pancakes, porridges, etc. There are also dishes of the afro-brazilian cuisine like "Bobó de Camarão", a shrimp stew with cassava and dendê oil. But I don't really know anything just like fufu. The closest thing would be a very thick cassava porridge. Thank you for the recipe!
Thank you, Thank you and Thank you again! You are AWESOME girlfriend. I loved your video… you took your time to clearly explain and you even shared some of your own mistakes with us. I felt like I was right there in your kitchen with you. I didn’t feel so overwhelmed when thinking about (attempting) cooking this dish after your video. I quickly subscribed and liked your page. God Bless… much ❤ from 🇺🇸!
Yup! Trinis are catching on to this lovely cuisine, thanks to youtube. I myself have tried it many times. I often add the okra soup when I make this dish
Hello love the recipe I've been looking for an easy chicken stew recipe where do you get the chicken cuz I've seen big pieces do you go to the African store
Thank you for this beautiful video. Happy emancipation day! I have to make this but with less spice. I would be afraid of putting hot food on plastic wrap because some chemicals could come out of the melted plastic, couldn't they? You said they used to put it in a mortar and pestle bowl to give it the round shape? Is that correct? So maybe I could just put it in a nice round bowl?
I've got to try this today. I love trying foods from different cultures since I find most American foods to be bland or repetitive in flavors. Thank you
@@adriane8565fufu is very difficult to make, I also struggled a LOT at first. It was only after my 3rd try that it finally came somewhat good, you really need to work those arm muscles and mix really quickly when cooking
I made cassava fufu once from scratch...when I tell you I didn't know I had to steam the mixture after getting it to come together on the stove.. wahala was all I had after that! lol But I 'll try again
It's interesting to see the different ways fufu is made. I've seen it mashed with a mortar & pestel, fermented in water in a tighly sealed container to soften the cassava, and now your way. Either way I'd love to try this. I saw a fish stew paired with fufu, do you by chance have a recipe for that?
Thanks for the response. Unfortunately we don't have a recipe for that fish stew but you can check out Sweet Adjeley on RUclips she would most likely have a recipe for it
This looks grear!! I have seen videos with the fufu being made in huge mortar and pestle and was always facinated by it..well now I know how to do it. How does it taste without salt? I suppose the salt and seasoning from the chicken will give it the flavour. Instead of the plastic I think I will prefer using small bowls as moulds but I certainly will be doing this with fish👌👌👍👍
I tried and failed miserably 😅😢 but will try again. Idk what went wrong but at the end it didnt turn to paste for me, it stayed liquid and the chicken was plain and dryish. I think i might have added to much water to the sauce mix in the blender but i don't know..
Fufu is Ghanaian btw not Nigerian. Nigerians don’t really eat fufu, we eat Gari, pounded yam. Also, we don’t normally eat chicken stew with fufu. Mostly with rice
It appears accurate that fufu may have originated in Ghana. That said, variations of it are eaten all over West Africa, to include parts of Nigeria, Sierra Leone, etc.

love Cassava.
Looks very delicious. Can fufu be made with plantains also? I thought I saw someone from Belize made it with plantain but can’t be sure.
For sure. Green plantains can be used to make it
@@eatahfood thank you because i was thinking about trying ripe plantains 🤦🏾♀️
@@lisamentz9694 I am thinking of trying a mix of the two because I think sweet only may be too sweet for me.
Yes it can
I made fufu with plantains last weekend and didn’t like the flavor. I think the plantains were overly ripe.
Definitely going to try this
I'll add this to my list of recipes to try

The fufu did not go well. I don't know where I went wrong. I stirred and stirred but it didn't change its texture like yours.

how long do you leave the potatoes in the wrap? should it be hot to eat or cooled down?
Thank you! I am going to attempt to make this for dinner tomorrow, although, there will not be a scotch bonnet at any point 😂

Yep the salt from the sauce is actually adequate for the entire dish as you eat it. Using bowls is a great idea to set it. Will be great with fish!
Can i use cassava flour?
This looks delicious💕💕💕

Yumm! I want to try this. Is there a replacement for cassava if we don’t have it? Thank you for the recipe.
