i wish it was as simple as just packing your bags and going. but you’ve gotta put work in. it’s a decision you make months or even years in advance. i’ve made that decision and haven’t told anyone. i’m preparing to get an online degree and i’m saving money to go a uni in japan. But once you really clear your head and decide to actually go through with it, it’s.. liberating.
What I realise when watching a lot of these Moving to Japan videos, is that I messed up not going to university. I think it gave a lot of people a good advantage (albeit maybe a small one, as you're also a foreigner) as you have the benefit of a degree. Whereas people like myself who went straight into work, don't really have any educational triumphs to bring to the table.
If you’re applying for an English teaching job then they have made it important to hold a University degree. But that doesn’t mean it is impossible. If you hold a teaching license that’s something else and I believe it can be required online nowadays. It depends on your work/skill if you’re going into another field other than English teaching. I’ve never used my degree for my visa it’s irrelevant but I am in the entertainment field.
I’m 25, but doing this myself. I finally got my MA in TESOL, which I wanted before I got there, and I’m interviewing with companies now. Feels weird, like I’m going to leave it all behind, but I’m so excited to too.
Not happy with life here at home, dropped out of first term in college and want to move out of country. I want to move to Japan and go to a language school and see if I'll live there after, but I don't know if I'll regret it
Regret is being too scared to give new things / dreams a shot. Even if it doesn’t work out the way you want it to, you tried instead of wondering ‘what if’. You can always rebuild and move on.
Congrats, not only you are beautiful, pleasant to listen too, but your experience is inspiring. Been to wonderful Japan in 2016. Best country in the world. Best of luck to you on all of your endeavors ✌🏽
Like I don't know what I was thinking, throughout all of secondary school I've just dreamt of going to Japan. I finished school in 2016 and started travelling and quite a bit, however I still put Japan as some place far away. Now with covid and the limiting of travel, I'm like baffled how I never just WENT to Japan as soon as I finished school. I'm still young I guess, just turned 24 but I need to make it my mission to go there next!
As soon as you can, just book it! Don't think about the distance of travel. I really miss visiting new places too, I had the same thoughts like I want to visit Australia and New Zealand, but always considered them too far places - but i'm so close to them now! (but also covid... sigh)
Thank you for your video!! Could you do a video about how to move to Japan and how do you shop, communicate with the locals, any language translation apps you use? Etc. I just trying to get an idea of how to move there, make purchases and pay bills there when I’m not familiar with the language. Also, could you do a video on how to move to London? Please and thank you in advance! 🙏✨❤️
Wow, amazing. I’m from London too I’m 16 I just started college doing hair and makeup I really wanna move to Japan once I’m older but I’m struggling to believe that I’ll ever make it there. I don’t even know what I’m doing with my life, but if I got an opportunity that I could live in Japan and be a makeup artist and hair stylist or even a model, since I did wanna be a model at one point but just didn’t think I was good enough but if I got that choice ugh I would get up and go straight away! This video has really motivated me and exited me I just hope one day something amazing as this can happen to Me too❤️🙏🏽
You’re 16! You don’t have to have life figured out yet or ever feel like you have ‘settle’ in something if you’re not happy. The best thing about life is that we can keep on trying to figure out what it is that brings us joy ✨ if you have a uk passport you could come on a working holiday, model and explore many other things! Good luck 🙏🏼
just finished college this month and i really want to go to japan, i know conversational japanese as well but its just so hard because japan is really expensive and i literally have no money and no way of earning part time jobs is no option because they basically don't exist here and even if they do they aren't safe for girls i really want to go there and i have no idea what to do anymore... :(
this vids really helps my motivation to move to japan, coming from australia and a pretty rough life im wanting to completely change my life. any tips on immigrating to japan? i need some help with how much money ill need to come to japan before i can get a job and work.
I think it depends how you see it. If your dream is to truly come and experience living in Japan, whatever uncomfortable situations come your way, you'll find a way to get around it. And if after then, it is too bureaucratic for you, then at least you know that you gave it a shot instead of being in the 'what if' zone. That's just how I think! ^__^

I really want to life in japan as a male Model, i just turned 20 and i unfortunately dont have a fashion BG like u do. Would u say that it is easy to find a modeling job as a foreigner?
how much i’ve been wishing to move to japan. but still, to work in japan, one need to know how to speak japanese. ig i’ll move to japan when i’m done with my college, alone. hah…
Not necessarily true. There are jobs that don't require you to be fluent in Japanese, or some don't require you to speak it at all. (English teacher, IT...) But since you want to live there, it wouldn't be wrong to know the language right. At least the basics. And the fluency can be much easier acquired when you live there. And yes it is scary to move to a foreign country by yourself, but don't let it stop you. You got this.
I had done a beginners course but when I arrived and in my work environment no one talks like the text books so I had to relearn everything and it was easier since I was living in the country and required to learn at least basics to get by
I am planning to move to Japan, but I don't have University degree. Would I be able to get any job at all there? I don't really have a chance to go to University.
I wouldn’t be able to say, but for modeling it’s not needed. I think for English teaching the uni degree shows you’re fluent in English. But it’s not always the case you could find jobs. Give it a try and if your country does working holiday visa it’s a good way to figure it out ! All the best
The younger you change culture, the better. Youth is worshipped pretty much everywhere, and the older you get, the less people want you anywhere, even where you already are.
Are you still in Japan? Do you still recommend it? I'm 21 looking to move to Japan soon! I wanna just drop everything and leave as well I've been dying to leave already.
After 8 years I’ve left japan and back in the Uk. I think having the experience of living in another country is good to see how other cultures live like. I recommend giving it a try :)
I want to move to Japan one day an get away from everything, I don’t have a college degree an can’t speak the language so it’ll probably never happen though
If you want to get away from everything, it is not a good idea. Don't think your problems will be solved by going to a different country. However, no, it is not impossible to live and work in Japan without a degree. It just makes it harder. What I have heard however and doesn't necessarily require you to speak fluent Japanese would be an IT job. And besides that, having a bachelors degree at least makes it a bit easier too. And if you really want to move to Japan, don't you think you should try to learn at least a bit Japanese?
